Was looking on the Thrustmaster website yesterday and noticed there is now a PS5 mode for the T300 which can be selected by holding down the mode button. Are you using this for ACC, or does it work using the normal PS4 mode?
Oh really? No I've got it on PS4 mode as it's either that or PC. will check it out

Great, see if it actually makes any difference. I haven't had chance to test myself yet. I'm assuming it was part of the last firmware update they released.

I just don't understand what's missing in this game for me.

When the PS5 upgrade dropped, I was on a cruise ship and so jealous. Couldn't wait to get home today.

Looks crisper and sounds as good as ever, yet, something is just missing. I didn't enjoy playing it and I can't explain what it was. Still hate the rolling starts and, even with the upgrade, it's still not overly pleasant on my eyes.

I'm shelving it. Playing PC2 until GT7 drops. Can't believe PC2 is still my go to game.
Perhaps its because it's a racing series game so you're confined to race specific cars?
Does it though? I'm real hesitant to go in a start goofing around with settings like this and end up completely ruining the game for me. Unless you can just totally get rid of it and reset back to default if it doesn't work out.

For myself, I didn't find it particularly useful to find out and use what the absolute correct fov should be. However, every time I get on AC, I absolutely will slide the fov up and seating position back until the perspective looks more natural to me. The default fov makes stuff look much further away than it does irl to me.
Here is what I did in AC, instead of worrying about correct FOV for my TV and seating distance I simply moved the FOV until the AI cars in front of me looked like they would un scale if I was sat in a real car. Wider FOV of around 60° the AI look quite small so I adjusted until GTS looked like real life scale a few metres from my eyes. In AC that is around 40°, I have mine at 38. Its important to be consistent whatever FOV you use.

The problem i face is called Elden Ring... which means it might be some time before I get back on the wheel unfortunately 🙂
I started Elden Ring yesterday and I played way past my bedtime, until my eyes hurt.

So addictive

Anyone else playing on Xbox ?

Do your impulse triggers work ??

PS5 players are your haptic feedback triggers working ?

so in your opinion would you say the FFB with the T300 on PS5 is on par with the PS4 version?
It had been a while since I played ACC and had been messing round with GTS for a bit but I think the only thing I really noticed was that the FFB felt stronger to me, but I actually think coming from GTS was probably the issue.
I was running at 75 before and lowered it to 70 as it felt quite strong (whatever the top slider is called)

So not sure what you mean by impulse triggers?

For me, RT and LT work for accelerate and brake respectively, but it's never had any ffb on them like, say Forza 7.

I get ffb from the main controller when going over rumble strips, bumping other cars (or good old fashioned crashing haha) etc, but it seems softer than before.

Ignore all above if impulse triggers is a different thing hahaha!

The sound of the cars also seems.... less impressive. Still destroys Forza, and easy better imo than PC2, but some of the oomph seems gone.

Need to play more to make sure and settle in, haven't played for a couple months and stupidly not just before the update to remind myself, so I could genuinely compare.

Thank you. Yes I mean the vibrating triggers. Shame it doesn't feature, and tbh really poor, it's been a standard since 2013 when the XBO launched. It really adds to the immersion, feeling etc. Oh well, I wish I'd bought it on my PC now instead.

I want to say I feel the feedback in my PS5. It is weak but that because I turned it down on my controllers

Can someone explain to me the reasoning of adjusting the FOV and then adjusting the seat forward or back? Doesn’t that retweak the FOV?

No the fov stays constant once you set fov it doesn’t change when you adjust your seating positions let’s say you set fov at 45 if you go to all your other cars that setting is there but all seating can be changed among your car choices but the 45 stays the same and that view you have won’t change regardless of your seating positions hope that helps

Due to a change in schedule I was able to mess around with the FOV thing a little this evening. Putting my screen size, distance to screen in the calculator (55 inch screen & 117cm away) it came up with 32.4. But that's entirely too close and undriveable. Default is 54. Unless you're not supposed to adjust FOV when you're driving in helmet cam.

I feel like FOV has been discussed ad nauseam over the years but I do see some unfamiliar members on here. There are some great videos on the YouTubes and articles on the webs that explain in detail the benefits. Yes there is a mathematically correct FOV, but at the end of the day it’s all up to the end user and what works for them.

I hope these help in adding to your sim racing experience.

This article talks about setting FOV in iRacing, but the first half should provide enlightening information.

Some videos from the tubes

Hi guys. New to ACC and this forum but not to real-life track driving/light racing. Had really been looking forward to ACC PS5 (have experienced it on PC), and it feels like there's a great game in there once the bugs get sorted. Here's one I ran into the other night after getting it up and running:
Had no trouble initially on the control setup menu with the brake and throttle pedals going to full red and locking, as some people reported from the jump. So far so good, I thought. Started driving and found it cool that with my Fanatec CSL Elite+ and Formula 2.5 wheel, the vibration motors in the wheel activated to indicate when I reached full ABS/brake. First time I've experienced that with anything on a console, though for most games I never use ABS.
Did five laps or so, paused, hit Return to Garage. Immediately my wheel turned about 45 degrees to the left and was kind of locked there. Er, OK. Quit and closed ACC. Turned wheel off, then fired it all back up. Wheel vibration for braking now gone, and the brake pedal instantly locked full red on control setup screen. I tried multiple versions of quitting everything, unplugging wheelbase, pedals, wall outlets, turning PS5 and wheelbase on and off, finally deleted game and reinstalled. Made no difference; wheel vibration for ABS just gone. Brake pedal sometimes locks red on the setup screen, sometimes doesn't, but the vibration is dead.
Anyone else experience something like this? I'm not sure I even want to play with the wheel vibration active, but it's annoying that something that's supposed to be there (and was indeed there at first) is suddenly gone.

i'm on xbox series x with logitech g920 wheel.
Before update my brakes (with the rubber stopper still in it) where fine with a break deadzone 85%. i could easily brake 100%

after the update the brake feeling is gone and now my brakes are to stiff again, so not able to reach 100% braking force anymore.

someone also have this problem with the g920? ander better, does someone know a solution?

Your not alone mate, for me the ffb had improved greatly (as in there was practically none before) but I cannot get the damn cars to stop unless I brake really early, the on screen display shows max braking about 80% tops , I’d literally have to push the pedal so hard as to break the damn thing off to get full pressure, a simple calibration routine would have resolved this.

Try using the horizontal FOV the calculator comes up with instead. I know everything says ACC uses vertical FOV but something seems off here. If I set mine to the vertical FOV it looks as if I'm driving with my forehead pressed against the windshield. But if I use the horizontal FOV it calculates, it looks and feels natural.

Edit: I'll try the vertical FOV and move the seating position back tonight and see how that feels also. It's definitely not a natural driving position with the seat in the neutral position and vertical FOV though.

I was hoping they'd give us some tools to adjust brake pressure and threshold etc. I have to properly stamp on my brake to reach 100% and there's nothing that can be done about it.

For me it looks now that changing deadzone doesnt do anything anymore. At the end I tried all kind of combinations in the settings but didnt notice any change in brakeforce anymore since february update.

with a lot of power i can reach 80% during a race and with too much power (which means no feeling at all) i reach 100% but probably the pedals will break soon like Numbrsix also said already.

im even close now to still go for removing that rubber block but it's not something what i wanted and like to do.

I know what you mean. I don't wanna remove my cone from the pedals either. I'm just braking a bit earlier and it seems ok. Not ideal. Can you calibrate the brake pedals on PC? 🤔
