3dsimed is very limited and lacks a lot of tools compared to max or blender. If you want a free software go for blender. The pipeline writes about 3dsmax but the two softwares can do the same things related to AC Modding, they just need to be found.
The main use of 3dsimed should be that of importing models and detach objects by materials in case it's needed like in forza models
Hello all !

I wanted to convert the F355 Challenge of PC2 with 3dsimed all go well but when I open it in kn5 nothing goes anymore , so I don’t dare to go further , I attach what I already do as a job if someone has time to see , otherwise I will continue with the old version ... , thank you

Man I would help you! But I need to know this. Me/we need a format to interchange model between you and us. Take for example your porsche 961 lm it's a project started from scratch? (It would be for example if it started inside 3dsmax) It's converted from another platform/format? I'm asking only to succeed in adding something in the best way without damaging nothing during conversion. I've done some test in conversion and I obtain different result.
1) I take your latest .kn5 and unpack/convert it with CM I obtain a dir with texture, a model in FBX format (FBX 2013.2)
185 elements, 64 materials, 44 textures (more elements less textures)

2) I take your latest .kn5 and unpack/convert it with 3DSimED3 I obtain a dir with texture, a model in FBX format FBX (2017.0.1)
176 elements, 64 materials, 71 textures (less elements more textures)

I've 3dsmax 2016 and FBX Plugin Import/export support only till FBX 2016. Someone knows how to upgrade 3dsmax 2016 fbx plugin? So I can directly import 3dsimed3 FBX 2017.0.1 format (if I try 3dsmax 2016 crash because it has a plugin limitation).
While If I import FBX exported by CM I add elements and animation correctly inside 3dsmax but when I import inside kseditor it loose textures.

First all reading pipeline SDK document from Assetto Corsa to create a car FBX format supported by kseditor is FBX 2013/2014. I think it would be better to avoid too much conversion and start from you car project add other objects and/or animation and do a final export in FBX format to feed kseditor and obtain .kn5 final car format.

Some question for advanced modders out there please which is the best way to take .kn5 car convert add elements and animation without loose textures and/or objects without anykind of scale issue? Which 3dsmax is better?

@Shokeus I think that it's better convert in a 3dsmax or blender supported format id est FBX do anykind of modification and then feed kseditor. Remember 3DSimED3 export in FBX 2017.0.1 format (NOT SUPPORTED directly by kseditor fbx import it needs 2013/2014)

It exist an upgrade for 3dsmax2016 FBX plugin or it's mandatory go up with 3dsmax version to import newest fbx revision? I know that at the end anyway kseditor wants 2013/2014.

In my opinion it would be better interchange car when possible with FBX file not with .KN5

P.S.
Pay attention during conversion also Unit Scale it's very important. During export 3DSimED3 use centimeters for file units while Pipeline Doc explain that meters are required.
MAX system.png Max units setup.png MAX_export_no_anim.png MAX_export_yes_anim.png

That's why there where issue about wipers scale and dimension.

This is from 3DSimED3 Look:

Thanks for the hint Diegonapoli10, I just purchased Assetto Corsa - Ultimate Edition and become a proud owner of this future classic

In addition to getting a large hard drive (hopefully SSD), get Content Manager, and in addition to all the other incredible things it does, if you have Windows 10, be sure to use the Tools>Compress Files feature to use LZX compression to compress your mods to 1/3 of their size (I'm not exaggerating). You can also use CompactGUI to compress mods directly, outside of CM.

I have over 1.3 GB of mods on a 500GB SSD--after they're compressed.

Just read this on rss discord. It's from 4. October, but didn't see anyone here posting this yet. I'm super excited:

We are currently in the process of updating our GT pack in time for the next vehicle of the GT-M pack.

---

GT-M obviously means GT-N. Does anybody know what is the next car in the pack: MX-5, 911 997 GT3 RS, Fairlady or Morgan?

Very nice info, thanks!
When they refer to GT-M, don't they mean GT3? Such as their GT-M Bayro 6 V8 (BMW M6 GT3)?

Hi guys! Just a quick survey about the Panda mod.

I'm currently working on textures and...
Would you like to have some fictional racing liveries?

Even if it is not a racing car at all, I think it would be nice to have some low-power engine races. Let me know :)

I always love that idea in the spirit of cup race possibilities. Plus, I think your Panda is especially anticipated!

My understanding how RSS do they GT cars mods GT-M is for modern GT cars, GT-N for cars in the 2000s era and GT for the 1990s cars. So that could mean any modern GT car now looking what is already available has a modern GT my guess it may be from a Italian brand of GT has a EVO mod. I wish they look into doing a TVR400r or Mosler mt900r has they are two of my favourite GT3 cars from the early 2000s.

Welcome to the party!
You've only got around 1,800 pages of mods to carefully sift through now.
Protip: buy a bigger hard drive.

Hahaha, thanks Masscot, I`m always for good party!
As for the amount of pages well I`m here for quite a while now and carefully read, follow and harvest everything you guys do & share for this community, just not very active in posting... Currently I`m without of possibility to enjoy this game as I should, cause my PC is in a ''sick'' mode.
I hope that's soon be over and buy some parts to upgrade my PC.

And not to be forget, thank you mate and all other guys&gals with magic on your fingers, making this game as it is!

cheers
Bosko

@Jimlloyd Is anyone else having problems with slow motion (not stutter) at the new Suzuka when racing AI? I've disabled CSP/Sol and non-vanilla apps but its still happens on the pit straight. AC is cpu bound on my system but I dont experience this slow motion-treacle gameplay on any other track.

Had the chance of being near a Mosler, probably not the same you mentioned, but boy is it impressive. Didn't even know what it was until I checked it up close.
Beautiful piece of (British?) machinery. Would be awesome to drive one in AC

I'll leave some pics I took, sry if long post ;)

Hey guys, here's Version 1.1 of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe GT4 mod.

I haven't done too much beyond the full release version, just a shaders update that fixes some graphical anomalies. Before the whites on it appeared so bright they were almost glowing, and there was a glitchy strip of shadow along the bottom of the doors that looked bad. I've fixed both of those with this new update.

Delete your old install and copy+paste this new one into your cars folder. The whole car is included in this download. Just an FYI, none of the specs have been touched so it will still have the same great driving experience (that's objective fact).

The conversion mod over on RaceDepartment won't be updated because the model can't be included. The link to download this new 1.1 shaders update is below these preview images.

Credit to @GIBBONS again, I used his shader presets to fix this, along with the tires this car uses being from his AI.

To quote on both of these I have a feeling cause if I remember RSS was doing a hurrucan but I think it got scrapped so if I'm not mistaken. The hurrucan project might have got back going and also @MRM1GAMING not trying to sound mean but: you're wrong with the GT pack. The GT is also 2000s. All but 1 of them is 2000s The Viper is 1996 car but put into 2000s spec.

edit: from research the Storm that is in the mod pack is also a 90s but it was the GT spec that was done which raced in 2000s

Yes I should of said GT1 / GT2 spec cars from both era thank you for correct me. The Bentley/ Huracan EVO was predicted guess as these two mods out of all the current GT3 mods which aren't available in game currently.

You're welcome. If you saw the post RSS posted like god knows how many months ago, it was a hurrucan. But...I had no idea which hurrucan it would be the evo or regular GT3.

Also, just an ask @NeilB1971 are you planning on updating all the cars in your Le mans ALMS megapack physics wise? Since them morons have done cause they now just released the Oreca 03 and creation CA06 or CA07 since the current creation you have done has the zytek Z115N physics same as the lolas etc.

edit: along with the question what about the 07s, you planning on trying to make them compete with the other LMP1s since that uses the Z115N physics too?

Question for y’all... has anyone done a version of Indy back from when it actually had bricks? Or at least a vintage version. For such a historic track I am surprised of the versions that are out there are rather half done modern ones.

Guys have you spotted this:

I don't know if is there somewhere, in case not I hope this can inspire some good modders. I trust in you guys and in this grat community. I've tried doing mods few times ago but I'm not talented and when I'll have more time I'm going to learn how to create great mods even with CSP settings. I hope you are all fine in these tough times. Sorry for my bad and poor english.

the new Sachsenring.. some of the corners are very "shuddery", nearly lost a thumb on the wheel ripping around. So I used ffbclip to try find a nice setting, even it eventually gives up the ghost after 2-3 laps and sets ffb to 0 to try compensate.

Had a look at the mesh and it seems fine, what else would cause this

using Formula Hybrid 2019 - RSS and the Audi E-tron (KS) both with same result (both cars fine on other tracks.)

View attachment 964248

well in trying to solve the shuddering corners on the Sachsenring, I found the limits of my VR3 frame.. I tore the m6 nuts through the 1mm steel plate guides on the mounting sheet on these corners..

SO: a few things.

1. Waiting on delivery of a TR160 frame now.
2. Removed this track, wait patiently for a revised version.
3. With some time in hand, I started looking at the Rio track, tunnel to hill.

On the Rio track I duplicated the road, picked it up 0.0001 and ran a few smoothing passes on it, result when overlaid on each other shows the issues on the stretch just past the tunnel and then going up the hill. the patchy bits are the original track "humps" poking through the smoothed mesh. Notable also the manhole covers are 1ROAD, probably making these visible only or reducing the hard edge on them will help a bit here.

I cannot test the new mesh, as, well.. see point 1. But probably this will help a lot with cars that have stiffer suspensions on this track.

If reboot team ever look back at this track these little fixes as an alternate "smooth" layout would be a welcome addition.

Probably a very quick job for some talented GTP tinkerer to add that wing back on from the original car and release a new winged version. Anyone up for it?
The car's been updated in the last eight hours by the way - the headlight cowls are now body-coloured like the proper car, instead of black. Looks much, much better.
Redownload from the original link if you have the older version.

I'm not aware of any 348s available for AC, never mind good quality/stock versions.
Seems like a glaring omission considering the plethora of Ferrari mods available, and considering the 348 was Ferrari's last V8 developed under Enzo's stewardship.

Sorry mate, the version from the link you posted still has the black headlight cowls. CM tells me version 1.0. Do you have another one?
upload_2020-10-12_21-3-44.png

Since the car sounds more like a V8 Nascar, can you recommend a good 4 cylinder engine sound which could be used for that one as a replacement?

Nope, for example we don't have the new bentley.. anyway yes they are working on the huracán evo apparently.
