I mean this upper edge of the windows:

I don't know if it's only because that edge is not actually straight, but to me it seems that those windows should go higher.

But this is really just nitpicking in an otherwise excellent mod - I just can't unsee it once I noticed it, sorry :)
I compared many pictures from many point of views, front, top, side etc... Might be slightly higher yeah, but so is the wiper, tail is probably a teeny bit shorter, etc... Not easy going from pictures ^^ Find me a blueprint and I'll nitpick with pleasure hahaha

Piper Racing Cars, set up by former GTR owner Tony Claydon in 2006, sells replicas of the car under the name Piper GTR Le Mans. May be worth contacting...

After a few months of hard work, head scratching and life questioning, here it is : the Piper GTR.
It's my second fully scratch-made car, and the first one done without any plan, blueprint or even dimension references, considering how few information there is of this car. Only pictures, basically. So don't be too harsh with the result ^^

Features :
  • A 1.3 liters Straight 4 twin cam Ford-Lotus based engine, mostly reproduced at the back of the car.
  • 155 bhp for 602 kg. Not powerful, but so streamlined it's keeping up quite well in the WSC pack.
  • openable flappy doors, useless but cool.
  • 10 beautiful historical and semi-fictional liveries by Pasta2000, an even better skinmaker than me. If you don't believe me, See for yourself
  • Headlight for the night, wipers for the rain, mirrors for the rear and the height of a table.
  • Lovely and raw sound by SCIBSOUND, Come and say thanks to the man!
  • Less than 300K polys, 4 LODs, AO inside and outside, all the goodies for good racing!

great job! the car looks and drives well. force feedback and car behavior are very similar to the Porsche 908 LH.
I'm no AC-physics specialist, I'm a modelist. The car is pretty much a mix-up between the 908 LH, the 906 and the Lotus Europa, and a few tweaks until getting something close to what I want to feel while driving it.

If someone wants to tackle the physics side, I'll be very interested !

Already tried, without success, same with the Piper's facebook group. Not sure if mr. Claydon is still doing it today.

I've been busy these days, I've done 22 skins for 8 different cars this week. I had to clear up pending tasks. More Le Mans & ALMS skins to come next days, maybe next week.

Where did you get that GT7 HUD? I swear the one from Racedepartment never had the map in 3D, only in 2D instead.

Second - I know it´s maybe just an dumb idea, but did you concider adding a "tuned" version to make the car unrealistic but competetive to DaWallace GT´s ??
I mean from the visuals, handling, timeline the TVR fits wonderfull to be a opponent of the Vertigo, Mantis and co. 🤩 Would be even a nicer grid.

The side window slit ? It's seems to have vary quite a lot, based on the different pictures I'm seen. But yeah, I kind of forgot about it. Might do it later, I think (not a big fix, to be honest)

How did it happen that such a fairly high-quality mod had the wrong shader selected for the windshield?

Since TVR had fun making me fool about the details of this car, I decided to include an engine map that (approximately) reflected the performance of the T440R. If I understand correctly, the difference between the T400R and the T440R is the extra 40hp. I recently played GTR2 after centuries and for better or worse the TVR is not exactly the most competitive, but still better than the z3 GTR 😂

But, if you want, I can add a third map. After all, the T400R/T440R project started from a good base (Typhon), but the speedsix was initially supposed to have 500hp, but it always exploded. Maybe I could give her back what she never could have :D
 
I have an issue where AI cars don't start in Track Day on 2 maps. They work fine in races.

I have disabled/re-enabled the New AI behaviour extension in CSP but that didn't help.

Has anyone come across a fix for this prob?

The De tomaso P70 couldn't even do one full lap in it's entire racing career.
The Piper GTR lost half its bodywork in the Mulsanne straight and couldn't compet because of it.

Giving back what they never had is our whole purpose here :lol:
 
@marc magnela I just realized, LOD_B and C hold a texture plane LOD_A doesn't have (in the engine bay, to trick the view at a distance with an image and not a shape). Any idea if it could be forced-applied while not saving the whole texture pack on the Lods ?

Ok i hope understand you right (because limited english) :D So there IS already a option to make the car faster through the engine map.
But the AI do not use it, so it´s not gonna work to BOP it this way.

Of course i could do a trial&error with the Car Tuner to achieve the lap times of DaWallace cars, but i think you have better options (only if you like. Please do not take it as an "order":dopey: )
