hey guys, i've seen Nascar 1980-1990 cars on this thread somewhere, can't find them, just wondering which car/track combos you would find the best to recreate a late 80s/early 90s race. Something bumpy, visceral, with a decent AI? I know very little when it comes to Nascar, and i kinda want to dig a little into it.

Hey, does anybody know what's going on here?


Why is the AI choosing a mix of SS and M compounds? This is Brno (5.4km) so 20 laps would totally kill supersofts, but didn't the AI used to just choose whichever compound was set as the 'default'?

I tested and rolled back to an old version of CSP (0.1.79) and it worked as it used to, with all cars choosing the default medium compound. Doesn't seem to be caused by the 'New AI Behavior' CSP settings either; turning that off made no difference.

Any idea what's going on here? Or does it not even matter due to how Assetto Corsa doesn't really bother with calculating AI tire usage?

Also what does the 'ai_tyres.ini' file in the data folder for each car do? It looks like it should govern which compound the AI uses based on how far the race distance is, but I have found it to never work.

You need to make an ai_default.ini setup for the car at each track with each car if you want the Ai to start on specific tires. Otherwise the game just uses random tires, Wish this was something that Ilja could work on next so we could start being able to have Ai run track specific tunes etc.

hi, if you release an updated/reworked model in 2024 , then the "in your face" parts should look like something in a 2024 mod imho (else I would not mention having updated/reworked the model , then it's just an import into AC, right?)

these I mean for starters, are the reason I do not download and try this mod:

This could be the best feeling car in AC , but many will not download it , since it will look like playing a 1999 sim...

as I like doing quick races against similar car ai, I created some extra (fictional) skins for the amazing 1958 BRM Type 25 by GØD (v1.1 can be found in ACTK garage) which came only with 2 skins

Maybe light a hay stack with exhaust and use that fire to light the tires?
I guess it must be really cold on track, if lighting your tires is the last resort for heating your tires 😜

I assume where most of us mean vintage cars and tracks when we say "vintage mods", you must mean vintage as in, old and not up to current standards because every CIR mod I've used would've been good in maybe December 2013 but not since...

I only took the cars mentioned above that I like for my personal collection; I can't express opinions about the others since I didn't buy them. I only know that many of them are not updated at the moment, but that they are being updated after having spoken in chat with the modder who owns the website.

The BOAT (Biggest of all time) of F1 cars, is making a return soon to assetto corsa, Presenting you a complete rework of the F60 of SDD.

The car has been 3D fixed to fit the proportion of the real F60, and the cockpit area has been modified to fit more the F60 cockpit lines. Same goes for front wing and rear wing. And more accurate callipers.

It will also have new physics, new carbon texture, better AO map, and 3d helmets for Massa Raikonen Fisichella and Badoer. And real life cockpit badges.

And real life led animation

20 Euros for the 2007 WTCC and they still have the wrong Seat Leon, like everyone else. That's a lot of money for a mod.

The facebook group is still accessible (at least for members) and they still work on NASCAR stuff. I believe they are unrelated from the Assetto NASCAR guy from Patreon so my guess is that only he quit modding, not the Facebook group guys.
The group is private though, so nobody outside of the group can find the group or see the posts

Half the cars on that site are literally just straight up stolen content from GTR2, Race 07, RBR, iRacing and other AC creators. Could give two less farts about their "physics" when they are charging money from the 3D work of other creators.
