I have a feeling I can't post a direct link to this, but TrippTeam has shut down its server and is no longer hosting simracing files:

"Today 13/3 have i shut down

HFS site and DC ++ and shall NOT host files from my server pc Online

I have stopped host simracing files online to the Simracing Community"

Sad to see this happen, it was a great resource for the racing community. Many thanks to Tripp for for his efforts in assisting simracers with his great server.

I stated this just yesterday:

AC PC Mod Discussion - Do not ask for paid mods. Do not post paid mods.

Same still applies, he has his server active for the time being.

Just did a quick two lap race against eleven different GT4's with the Genesis. Hope this is want you want to see? Otherwise feel free to ask and I will upload another video. Also two others in the video thread.

Remark: for some reason a huge FPS (68 --> 33) drop and this is also noticable in this video. Also the loading time for each car increased with seconds. I assume because of recent CM update or another PC system update? Not sure. Have to test this.

How is this BoP'd? The Genesis starts eighth-ish and is third within half a lap.

Since I first drove on Ascari race track in GT5, I always loved this magnificent race track. We have a version in AC, 'ascariraceresort', the layout and elevation are fine but it looks rough, which is a shame.
I am hoping that maybe a new skin, could be done by some one. The video lap attached shows what it looks like and also where the cones for apex, etc... are located. A lot of attention have been given to much lesser tracks when this outstanding track has been forgotten, now is the time to fix this injustice.

Totally agree. Looks like a very fine track. Love the elevation changes,

Sorry, maybe/sure this will be a longer post, so you´ve been warned. ;)

Some people asked me personaly (what´s Ok so far) what´s about new CM updates and what could hapen to the Origin Icons and Categorys.
Instead of answering each question for his one, I post it here for all interested ones in the main thread. The other ones can just ignore this and read next post. ;)

First of all, I´m not the maker of CM or CSP. Thx Ilja, he is the genius behind all this nice extra stuff, what gives us all so much!    👍 👍 👍 👍

But I´ve a lot of experience with a lot of concepts behind his programing and handling configurations. Most the time, they are just robust and self-explanatory. I made this Origin Icons for myself too, just a bit before Fanapryde, but I enjoy how disciplined and continous he updates his work and some Icons just makes me smile. So thx for all your constant updates, for the track corners too. 👍

Ok, back to the questions. I´m most the time exactly as much surprised as you all, of all the updates CM and CSP makes, but I'll make some arrangements before to stay calm.
So my best practices so far:
  • Backup
    c:\Users\your_name\Documents\Assetto Corsa\
    c:\Users\your_name\AppData\Local\AcTools Content Manager\
..\assettocorsa\ the main folder of AC
(if that´s to big, backup at least all cfg, system, extension, MODS, Apps in ..\assettocorsa\ and in content\ folder all driver, fonts, textures and all the other ones where personal changes are stored. But the easiest would be an incremental backup of the whole AC folder itself. ;) )
    folders regularly!!!
Having this done, you can just update all what you want or need and stay relaxed. All can be restored quite easy. :)
(I use Duplicati 2.0 for backuping, but it´s just my preference. Try yourself what´s best for you)
  • Use c:\Users\your_name\AppData\Local\AcTools Content Manager\Data (User)\ for all the stuff that should stay persistent after CM updates.
I do it all the time after User "Twiggy5471" from RD adviced me to do so. Thx again just in case he reads this. :)
  • You can extend the Origin Icons or Categories for your own wishes. Categories is build in a modular way, there are some json files and they can be deleted, duplicated and edited like you want. If someone like @gergerger don´t like or find it usefull that Mods are shown in Categories, just delete both Mods...json named files. And/or you can make your owns on top of the others.
For example @Fanapryde updates his List.json for Origin Icons, no prob for me, I´ve two jsons more a "List_01_AC_Legends.json" and my personaly "List_20_my.json" where I can put and define my own mods and icons. @Beezer215 could put there his "Reworked by Beezer" definition and all updates wouldn´t worries him anymore. :)
Just take care it loads AFTER List.json. "List_20_my.json" does it for me. But you can also ask us politely if we integrate your wishes on next update. ;)
  • I let my CM allways update itself and had so far never a prob.
    upload_2020-3-21_22-27-53.png
  • And one last tip, I installed Steam and Assetto Corsa and CM a second time on my old Laptop, Notebook and backup that all that stuff with 7-zip. This way it don´t use a lot of space and it´s easy to restore.
I never needed to run a "integrity check" anymore. :)
So, that was the technical and support part and I´ve somethings more to say. But not yet. I think it´s better to calm down and rethink what I wanted to say. ;)
Nevertheless I hope I could helped someone. :)

yeah i also got that problem too with races. on hotlaps i can go up to 110 fps but during a 16 car race on ANY track i cant even go up 50fps

Bodywork and Interior finished: Check
Physics and BOPed: Check
Extensions (Lumirank etc) added: Check
GT4 Tyres: Check
Sound: Check (Maybe?)
Engine BOPed: Instead of the original 660 bhp the power is now around 400 bhp
BOP is about a Porsche GT4

Skins: 2 at the moment
- Plain red
- This skin in the photos above
Should I add more skins?

So this car is almost finished, but it still needs a bit testing and LODs :)

I love the concept <3 I am very impatient that the mod is available

All selected GT4 cars are the default values as they come direclty from the respective creators. I haven't changed anything to values. Just selected them via search value GT4 in quick race. Out of my head (not behind simrig now) AI strengh and aggressiveness 95%+/-2.5%.
What I noticed is that all AI cars at Radillon/Eau Rouge used their brakes and I took it flat out and turn 1 is always a mess ;) On the long straights it is hard to overtake. I think in corners AI is more cautious?

Edit: I ran upstairs and did some extra testing. Also with other cars (570S and AMG) I started 8th and within after Eau Rouge I was most of the times at third place. It was impossible to overtake #1 (Porsche Cayman) and #2 (BMW M4). They were already too far away in the distance.

definately make one or two skins, maybe release the template on RD as well if there is one.

Ah yes, thank you. I believe Apexxer's version was the one that I downloaded here shortly after I got to know this thread. Actually it was one of the first cars that I got to download in here! haha.

I still find it too fast against the other GT1 cars. Comparing the CLK GTR from URD against the Porsche GT1'98 and the Mclaren F1 GTR I can manage to lap within 1-2 seconds from each other approximately. However, with the Toyota I'm effortlesly lapping Suzuka 5-6 seconds faster than those 3.
You can actually see in the data that the lateral accelerations you can put throughout the esses in the first sector are much bigger that the others.
Steering ratio is also something that has me a bit concerned because I find it is too direct, but I'm trying to find real data to compare.

That is mainly because AI is much too slow in 99% of the cars/tracks. I always have them maxed out (aggression a tad lower to try to rule out dive bombing) and to get a bit of a race I start last (25 or more cars). In most cases it takes less than three laps to get into the lead.
So imo starting in eight place and moving up to third within half a lap at Spa is not a sign that BOP hasn't been done well.

In the CSP config file assettocorsa\extension\config\cars\loaded or in car folder -> "extension" folder ext_config.ini you can add these lines :

I tried this, but I was not successful in lowering the noise of the wipers. Is it working for you?

Maybe all the other cars are too slow, if they have bad toe and camber on starting setup AI can't do good laps times, you can compare you and AI VS real, Le Mans : 3:40.472, Fuji :1:16,349.

Old prototypes have often short steer ratio, but I can't help here.
Legion have done a version ask to him or Apexxer maybe.

I believe yes, not trying with new CSP. For the engine volume it's work, try ENGINE_INT=0.1 for testing.

Edit : the wipers volume not work for me with CSP 1.46, but engine volume work.

Assetto Corsa Fanboy (ACF) said he take a look at of Ascari. Unfortunately he only did share his new tracks with this strange filesharing programm. So I probably never will even see his track.

As stated before, I adapted some cars to fill the GT4 class due lack of cars, some time ago.
Never said they were true GT4 cars.
Despite some of the 'true GT4' cars made by modders, being wrong, concerning the FIA GT4 cars rules (tires, TC, fearbox, etc)

That said, I would like to share with you my 58 (some of them are 2 or 3 same models with diff physics and specs), GT4 cars list, decided by me.

P.S. I'm still struggling with the size of the images.

EDIT: Some cars are not yet classified by me with stars, because I need to drive them again, to decide what they deserve.

You are right, it could very well be. In the end (unluckily haha) I never tried any of these cars so everything is hypothetic. I'll try them in Lemans with those times in hand as soon as I can and let you know. :)

Regarding the steering ratio/steering wheel torque, I am aware that old cars tended to use a quite reactable steering, but even after considering this and to exemplify, this car feels similar as when im racing in my go-kart, short steering wheel angles but the when I'm expecting an increase in torque as I'm attacking the corner, the steering wheel torque falls off. (Hence why I want to check steering geometry, mechanical trail, etc)
Again, it could be that the car was designed like this. As I said before I'll try to gather as much info as possible and update (or leave as they are) the different parameters!

The jaguar has only 190 bhp, is it balanced?
I think they need to be reworked to match performance but they are acceptable candidates.

Tried the newest updated GT4 0.2 Beta and CM 0.8.1976.36095, still no luck generating those previews
It's not the cars but Content Manager that allows the previews. You have to update Content Managers. The cars encryption has remained the same.

Off topic. Two online races with simracers, pro racers and Thibaut Courtois :D

18:00 GMT NotTheBahGP by Veloce. Live right now.

20:00 GMT Formula 1's official F1 2019 race. Will be streamed on F1's official channel.

Is that Ian Poulter the golfer on there? just seen it is :)

So I decided to fiddle a bit with the Toyota GT-One as I was a bit annoyed with the height to the floor not being accurate with the real thing.

It is noticeable in the front of the car, closer to the ground like the real car. So if anyone is interested I can share my data.acd file (if that is allowed of course)

Nice work, but yes, theres something wrong with that car. Its hard telling if its the height, the floor or length of side body work.
Even with no surface load, it sits almost on the ground with a little bit of rake. What happened to it? :guilty: Everything is closer to the ground, even the rear wing support.

Your fix (nice work).
