Cool. I had an earlier version of that and lost it. I forgot where I got it. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to use it then. I'll have to give it a try as soon as I can.

Man, one thing about mods...after a while I can't freakin' remember what's what. For instance, I remember driving this new track (newly installed for me) and I remember thinking, "What a great track!" I swore it was something from SIM TRAXX...and that sort of made sense to me. If it was one of their private betas I wouldn't have heard of it yet. For the life of me, I can't remember what the hell the name of the track is. A couple of days ago I was going thru all the SIM TRAXX content I have. Wasn't there. I spent hours loading up tracks that I don't have 100% ingrained in my brain. Perhaps I don't even have it installed any longer. Maybe I had it installed before my last complete reinstall of Assetto Corsa. If so, I have no shot finding it. I'll have to just come across it by accident some day. :banghead:

I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I am going to do about my home network. I am in drastic need of finding a data storage solution that isn't thousands of dollars. Maybe that has been clouding my brain making me unable to remember the name of the track.
I give anything of interest five stars in CM so it's easy to find at a later date, even if I eventually downgrade it after extended use.

My hatred for Monaco has been overpowered by my desire to download new tracks. Thanks! :)
Haha! We've all been there... :D To be honest, I absolutely hate Monaco too. Not dislike. Hate. I made the mistake of watching a race at Monaco...once. :sly:

I started grading tracks like you @Masscot. 5-star to Kunos tracks just because of quality. 5-stars to my favorites, or tracks that are done so well, I know I'll learn to love it. Then 4 thru 1 is an imperfect grading system that I've come up with. The problem is, sometimes I'll hope on for a session - I whip around 5 or 6 tracks and call it a day - 2 hours later I'll let out a Homer Simpson "D'oh!" when I remember I didn't grade anything in that session.

I have more cars than tracks, obviously, but I could tell you my perceived quality of just about all of 'em (unless I haven't driven one or two yet, like when I get big packs like the 1975 Formula One). I can't name them by memory, of course, but as I go thru my list, I've star graded quite a few, but I'm pretty sure I could point out the ones I loved, even if I haven't driven it in 4 months and also point out the ones that I keep around solely for AI use on my starting grids. I try to always grade those 1 star, so when I'm trying to piece together a start grid I can look at my 1 star cars quickly.

One thing that ticks me off in Content Manager... In Drive > Quick mode you can select cars or tracks and see the star grades of both. But in Content mode you can only see your star grading in the Cars section, not the Tracks. It's been that way for a long time now...I can't believe he hasn't fixed it.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the use of the red bookmark looking favorite indicator. That helps really narrow it down when the numbers or so large.

I always wondered what that bookmark button did but was too scared to press it in case it started a siren, flashing lights and countdown...

yeah, it's one of those old flash pranks "I'm watching gay porn!! I'm watching gay porn!!" @ 110dB. They are a little redundant, but I always say that I'd rather have more than I need than need what I don't have. <-- That was my zen moment of the day ::gong sound plays:: I feel like I don't even need any other tracks....I have been addicted to this one track. I can't even tell you exactly why I love it so much, but I do. I was going to buy it flowers today, but I don't know if that's rushing things. I can't afford to scare this track away like I've done with countless others. "I'll never forget you, Bilster Berg!!" :indiff: Ugh...I think I'm going to go watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 4K.

I think I know what track you're on about. I got sent a beta version of it today. ;)

It's this track Fat-Alfie is working on called Feldbergring. It's an old, long forgotten race held in some beautiful country land in Germany. I believe it ran 1920-1954, except for a handful or so of years when Germany was trying to take over the world. I'm sure I am grossly exaggerating the excitement of the layout - the fact that I love these old loops on "real streets". To me, the scenery is much cooler than a typical race track that's wide open. I think it will be released soon.

Your enthusiasm is justified. I had an absolute blast hooning around there last night, so much so that I totally forgot about the 'One Hour of Mugello' race in was supposed to be doing on SRS. :embarrassed:

Found another reason to love Content Manager... I can edit shader settings! Downloaded Jaguar D-Type mod, and the windshield had horrible reflections/transparency. Now I can see!!

View the car in CM Showroom. Click on the part. In my case, it was the windshield. You will see the part highlighted with an outline, and the window/menu bar description will display the material and texture names. Click on the vertical 3 dots icon to the right of the material name (my example: “window”). A new window will pop up with the shader properties. At the bottom of the window, there is a button named “Change values.” Click on it. Start editing.

I have no clue about shader properties. I did some quick reading on AC official forum and found Kunos’ default shaders for a number of parts, including glass/windshield. Those didn’t work for the D-Type. Then I tried the shader properties from Ferrari 250 Testarossa mod because I like the transparency in that windshield. (1958 open top racer; D-Type is 1956 open top racer.) The Ferrari shaders work for me.
Continuing to enjoy this function of CM! I don't like the chrome shaders on certain mods, and now I can remove the annoying chrome reflections. The Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona is so much better without that annoyance in the corner of my eye (in cockpit/driver eye view).

Oh man...I am bummed. Never in a million years did I think I'd see my local track appear in Assetto Corsa. Today was my lucky day...or so I thought. Palmer Motorsports Park. It's the only certified race track that I've run laps on, well, legally that is. It's only like 5 or 6 years old, if that, and I haven't been there in a little over 2 years so my memory isn't perfect, but I thought the author captured the general essence of the track. Lilski entered the conversation and presented LIDAR data for the race track. I guess the author did make some glaring mistakes, starting with the Start/Finish straight rising 30 feet too high for Turn 1. I was shocked!

There's a lot of work that needs to be done for this track to be a great v1.0 -- as it currently stands at v0.8 you can drive it just fine, but textures need improving, maybe a little asphalt smoothing and like Lilski said, the elevation needs to be reassessed. The real life track has almost 200 feet in elevation difference, if I remember correctly.

Unfortunately, the author has stated he just doesn't have the time to continue on with the project. He's willing to give the source files to anyone who asks. I grabbed 'em, just in case... He built this track with RTB, not a traditional 3D modelling package so I can't do anything with the files unless I install RTB which I really don't want to do. God, I hope someone comes along with the desire to see this track finished.

There are a few things I don't like about the track. It's super technical. Several turns are either off-camber or start off being off-camber. There wasn't a lot of land available when they built this track, so I understand why, but there is such a shortage of "punch it!" straights, I can see it being too tedious for some people to want to drive in a PC Sim. Man, I hope this isn't another track that goes off to that big pile of tracks in the sky...unfinished and forgotten. :embarrassed: :grumpy:

Oh hey...has anyone tried out that new track "Procedurally Generated Rally - Stage Pack #2"? Supposedly, these guys have been working on a system to generate Rally courses for Assetto Corsa based on user inputs and adjustable settings, I suppose. You could download the track "generator" and make your own stages quite easily, I'm assuming. The generator isn't finished and ready for us to try yet, but I'll be interested to hear from Rally fans how good or bad this thing ends up being. I'm sure it will come as no surprise that our favorite mad scientist, x4fab, is involved in this project. :D Why not? After all, he is adding neural network machine learning to Content Manager to make custom, but accurate and realistic, tires for any cars in AC. He had a little test app on the web that I used to tinker with - has anyone else? It's old...

Man, that's a shame about Palmer. I wonder if the ridiculous one-star reviews he got when the original zip file was accidentally borked influenced his decision to drop the project? I love this hobby but people can be viscous entitled pricks towards modders sometimes.

My anti-virus is giving me this message and automatically deleting the latest content manager Build from my computer every time I attempt to open CM. Is anyone else receiving the same declaration from their anti-virus? I have used CM for months now, with no issues until now.....

I know. I wrote a scathing review at first...People were screaming about the textures and the textures did suck, but what do you expect for a v0.8 release? These morons expect everything to be perfect, but then make it even more perfect for v1.0...if I ever publicly release my stuff I would wait until I am absolutely certain there is nothing left to do...but I would start a project thread on RD so people can oooh! and ahhh! asking for a chance to drive it/drive on it. Nope...Then after about 1 year of these people going crazy with anticipation I finally say, "The project has been cancelled. Sorry."
I'm one of those types of idiots who'll spend $500 to get back at you for not paying me the $100 you borrowed.
Nice - thanks! Waiting for somebody to do a pack of all those liveries. There's no way I'm downloading them all individually..!
Nice find Silvio! You da man. Ya know, I counted the number of liveries shown on the website page...if I remember correctly it was 90. Then I counted the Skins folders for the three cars and it only equalled 77. Anyone know what that's all about? Did I jack something up?

I wouldn't sweat it. That has been a frequent discussion in the official support thread, but it's a false positive. Well, not really I guess...because I think Content Manager changes the acs.exe by a few bytes or something like that. So the virus software might be detecting that from the scan. I stopped using anti-virus software 5 or 6 years ago, but I think you can create "exceptions" to avoid scanning something, like the .exe file...

The V8 corsa mod is the new 2018 cars - data & liveries - to go with the earlier mods 2017 ones. The rest of the skins on display are various cars from the late 90s up to 2016 - you'd need to be an Oz race fan to know the histories etc. I have most of them and can't remember how I got them all but they are worth it.

Hey guys, do any of you have the 2016 version of the Adelaide street circuit? I downloaded it ages ago, but only got around to trying it for the first time today. It looks a LOT better than the 2011 rF1 conversion, but I'm getting major fps drops in one spot of the track, from just before the Senna chicane, until part way down the following straight. My settings for AC are well optimised, KS tracks run at around 100fps if I turn Vsync off, yet in this part of this track, it drops into the 30s, with tons of variation, and thus mega stuttering.

Can anyone check to see if it happens for them too? My PC is very modest, but it runs everything else fine, and these drops are huge. I went into freecam and had a fly around, and noticed that the entire middle of the circuit is populated with 3d trees, so my suspicion is this is the cause, since that's the direction I'm facing heading into the chicane. But I've got some very detailed mod tracks that look significantly better than this, are significantly bigger than this, and run fine, so I can't know for sure.

It sucks because this is (apart from this issue) by far the best version of Adelaide available for AC.

Sorry Mike. I removed both Adelaide tracks a while back. I would never use 'em and they were guilty of having a name starting with the letter A, so I would always see 'em in my tracks list. I have several other tracks I'd like to remove, but if they start with K or P I don't see the name in my list often enough to remember to do it. :banghead:

I was very pleasantly surprised by this car. I downloaded it thinking maybe I'll use it for single-make races. I'm glad I did. It's a performer, no doubt.

Is it? I installed but haven't driven it yet. I assumed it would be good. Darek makes really good cars, I think. He hasn't made many, but I'll take quality over quantity any day.

I'm scrolling through the RD main AC Mods page. Some dude ClaudioWRC74 just uploaded a bunch of "careers". He's got Formula One 2017 & 2009, a 3-Pack of DTM 2015 (URD mod required), Audi TT Cup 2015 & 2016, EuroCup2013 Megane Trophy V6, Seat Leon Eurocup 2016 & Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2017. Very nice!!

Remember, those don't include the cars...They're really just custom championships all set up and ready to go.

I've been eagerly awaiting Lilski's Watkins Glen, but it may have to wait. Because...

https://forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?threads/free-weekend.10527/

All content in RaceRoom is available all weekend?!
Wow...Right on! If I were you, that'd be the only sim I would be touching all weekend. AC will be waiting for you on Monday. I'll tell you, Watkins Glen feels nice. Lilski makes such awesome rumble strips. I was vaguely familiar with the layout of The Glen, but by no means do I have it committed to memory like I do with the Nordschleife or Vallelunga. The Huracan Performante was the first car to take around The Glen...oh man, that was fun. Next up a Porsche 911 GT3 R...That was spectacular.

Hey everyone, I've encountered a problem in AC content manager. It's all of a sudden started taking ages to launch the game, and also when I try to quit race AC freezes for a while, and I'm greeted with this error message:
"Can’t save AC settings:

The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\Miner Nvidia 770\Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\ff_post_process.ini' because it is being used by another process.

Make sure app has access to cfg folder."

Anyone know what's going on?
