Clue: This manager had a playing career at Manchester United, and actually went on to have four spells as manager of this club he resigned from in 1992-93.
 
Correct! While Ian Porterfield (Chelsea) was the first to be sacked and Brian Clough (Nottingham Forest) retired, Steve Coppell was the first Premier League manager to resign after failing to keep Crystal Palace in the division. He would go on to manage them on three more occasions.
