Correct, @SagarisGTB!

Freddie Kanoute is best known to Britons for his time at both West Ham and Tottenham, but he made a leap onto the continental stage with Seville where the French-born Mali international won African Player Of The Year in 2007, becoming the first player born outside of Africa to win the accolade.

Stanley Matthews
Peter Shilton
Steve Ogrizovic
John Lukic

What particular record do these four men have in common?

No, but you are correct in sussing out that Peter Shilton is the most experienced player in English football history at an incredible 1,005 league games beginning in 1966 and ending in 1997.

*cough*

Nope.

They're all English and only Shilton (125) has over 100 caps. Matthews has 54 caps while Lukic and Ogrizovic are uncapped, mainly because Shilton was England's #1 for much of their careers!

If you need any more help, check the question I most recently posted in the Motorsorts Trivia Thread. It's tangentially related.

What's the record for most full-time managers in one season for a club?

BBC

Watford are on their fourth manager of the season and it's only October! Beppe Sannino quit in August, Oscar Garcia resigned due to health issues at the end of September, his deputy Billy McKinlay officially took over as manager only to be replaced by Slavisa Jokanovic after eight days! That's 4 managers in 37 days. Surely a record?

That's a rhetorical question, by the way. Just pointing out a bit more trivia. My question about Matthews, Shilton, Ogrizovic and Lukic still stands...

The answer is that they all played in four different decades.

Stanley Matthews - 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s
Peter Shilton - 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s
Steve Ogrizovic - 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s
John Lukic - 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s

Today I read that in last season's Champions League (2013/14 season) there was just one English manager. I'm wondering if any of you can name him?

Not so much a question, more of a "Huh, I wouldn't have known that!"

Very interesting question, its definitely not for the four English teams take took part (Chelsea, Man City, Man United and Arsenal)...

It wash not Schtevie Mac, no.

The man in question had one job in the English lower leagues before managing abroad. Took his team to the CL qualifiers.

The only English manager in last year's Champions League was Sligo Rovers' Ian Barraclough.

Feel free to post any questions you have. Or even just a general piece of trivium.

Ten English clubs have won the Welsh Cup. Six of those are currently extant. Name them.

Let's see if this one creates more interest.

What record do Nicolas Anelka, Craig Bellamy, Darren Bent, Marcus Bent, Andy Cole, Peter Crouch, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Keane and Nick Barmby have in common?

Well I know Bellamy is part of a pub quiz question in that he is one of a number of players who have scored for six different Premier League teams, I think Crouch and Anelka might be on that list, am I right there??

Correct. They all share the record for scoring for the most Premiership teams. Or, they would have done until it dawned on me that Craig Bellamy has scored for seven different Premiership teams. Poor question research on my part.

Nicolas Anelka - Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion
Darren Bent - Ipswich Town, Charlton Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Fulham
Marcus Bent - Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Everton, Charlton Athletic, Wigan Athletic
Andy Cole - Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham
Peter Crouch - Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur Stoke City
Les Ferdinand - Queen's Park Rangers, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United Leicester City, Bolton Wanderers
Robbie Keane - Coventry City, Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, West Ham United, Aston Villa
Nick Barmby - Tottenham Hotspur, Middlesborough, Everton, Liverpool, Leeds United, Hull City

Craig Bellamy - Coventry City, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool, West Ham United, Manchester City, Cardiff City

Your turn to ask a question.

Who is the only player to have been a Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Community Shield and Champions League runner up. Without winning any of them?

I was going to ask how has he played in the Shield having not won anything then it occured to me he transfered to some winners.

I would have said someone like Les Ferdinand, actually. But the Champions League bit is throwing me. Was the Champions League runner up with an English or British team, or was it with a foreign team?

Diego Forlan, perhaps?

He is a foreign player, the CL runners up was for an English team but I don't think he actually played, he might have been an unused Sub, he is still playing in England in the Championship..
