Yep, great racing mate it was good quality clean side by side action.

Race 2 was ruined by a torc member, TORC_waynz, his lag was extremely bad and was taking everyone out. i just pulled over.

Best race was race 3! i knew the race would be won by whoever made the least mistakes. I made a huge mistake early on in the race and was down in 5th or 6th by end of lap 1. You were 10 seconds in front. I just kept my head down and got into a rythm. I had the lead on lap 8 or 9, i had a good gap but lost concentration on lap 10, i caught back up and almost had you but made a few fatal mistakes near the end of the lap that cost me the race. gap was
.014 at the end 👍

Pretty small turnout and a few annoying punters but really enjoyed the battles we had your a top class steerer

Cheers mate 👍

I think during the clio race we went from the front straight to about the middle of the esses side by side which was awesome! Few other times where we dived underneath each other as well at corners where passes aren't usually made. It's really good when you can race someone so closely & pull certain moves off, knowing that they're aware of where you are to leave just enough room :)

You're right about the GT LM race. It was about making the least mistakes which was what I was trying to do, even if it meant going at a snails pace :P

What tyres were you using on the F40? Had a think about it and my gearing didn't seem to be wrong so I'm assuming that running R2's, -22HP & 109% weight was the downfall. Not enough grunt.

Yea its about respect, you have to do your best to not make contact even if it means going wider round a corner and loosing the position.

some people dont understand the concept of side by side racing...

as for the f40 i was running r1s with 100% weight. That was a great race with Vrmm we battled all the way to the line 👍

looks great,

i just read the rolling start protocol thing, but i dont see how that is much different from the normal way. if we cant start until the first sector line thats just the same as us being released individually at the normal start??

I've never tried it before, some other guys have, but the difference is, normally for a rolling start, the game places each car too far apart from each other. What this leads to is if you get a poor grid spot, say 9th out of 10th, by the time you hit the start line to begin your race, the leader (or first few cars) is already so far off into the distance (10, 15, 20 seconds) that you have absolutely no chance to catch up.

By doing this protocol, if done correctly, it means that all of us will be nose to tail when we hit the first sector line, meaning its much more fair & even for the guys starting at the rear.

I'd actually prefer for people to line up side by side, as that would replicate rolling starts perfectly but at least this protocol is better than the default GT5P rolling starts.

Hi all
Will see if i can make a better effort this time.

The non tuned GTLM was just too much for me last week !
Rolling start is gonna be a hoot.
cya on track guys

Hey guys, sorry I missed last week's racing I was preoccupied with other things... But I'll definitely be there tonight :) Looks like a great schedule

I'd really like to be there tonight, but once again can't.:(:grumpy: I have a maths assignment due tomorrow I need to do. I might be able to make next week's races. I'm really missing MNR, it's such great fun.:)

Yea its been pretty quiet the last few weeks but still heaps of fun 👍

Yeah, I've heard that. I should be back next week as I said above. For some reason I got 3 assignments within a week and had to do them all over the past few weeks. So I haven't played PS3 very much lately. But after tonight I should be back on it a lot more again.:)

hey supersonic are there any TORC people racing tonight?

or can we expect possibly the worst turnout in MNR history? :(

Not sure mate. I don't have many of the torc guys on my friends list. I think vrrm will be there, stonemonkey for the first few races, dunno about the rest.

It is disappointing that the numbers have dropped off :( Wonder how we could get more people playing again?

I think while the numbers have dropped, the quality of racing improves every week.

And with you, me, Vrmm, joeninety and aussienicko there should be more than enough action 👍

Well of course just after we're talking about possible low numbers for tonight, it turns out we get almost full grids every race :P

Mixed results tonight & probably not the cleanest racing but still loads of fun :)

Race 1: Started 7th. Was battling mid pack when I was punted off by womble (i think) at degner. By the time I got back on track, I was last but womble waited and let me back by. Quickly caught up to AUSnicko at spoon only to tap him off. So i waited but not far enough off the racing line so womble came through and hit me again lol. Sped back up but then the race quit because tizzla was having connection issues.

Race 2: Started 2nd but made a silly mistake at turn one by paying too much attention to my mirrors, causing me to brake way too late into T1. From there it was a battle with vrrm & tizzla for a spot on the podium. Managed to get into third on the last lap and held onto that until the end. My setup wasn't very good so was happy with that.

Race 3: Punters, punters, punters. That about sums it up. Started 8th and knew it was gonna be bad as I had 3 clios behind me. Turned out that was right. I was hit off 5 times in the first 3 laps by those clios. Was so annoyed so just went in the pits & sat there until the end.

Race 4: First time for me doing the rolling start procedure. Think everybody was going faster than they were supposed to but started the race well. However on lap 2 into turn 1 vrrm tried to make a move but we touched and I went flying into the outer wall. Copped a penalty but continued on & was having a great race with tizzla. On the last last though I went slightly wide out of a corner, only just brushed a wall yet got a penalty which I wasn't happy with. Fell back & finished 8th.

Race 5: Love racing those clios. Started 2nd and for the first lap or so battled with vrrm & tizzla. Tizzla made a mistake, which left just me & vrrm to have some hard, close racing for the next few laps, constantly swapping positions for the lead. Vrrm then made a error into turn 1 at the start of lap 7, so I got the lead and kept it from there finishing about 3.5-4 seconds in front.

Great turn out & good racing as always :)

I enjoyed myself alot tonight, even though i wasnt so clean myself, i dont think i ruined anyones race which is a solid point for me :D

Race1: This was meant to be my race, i love the F40, F40/Suzuka has been the combo that i've raced since getting hold of GT5P last year, although inexperianced with R tires, started 6th, took 5th by going the very inside of the circuit, braked very late into the first turn and held the inside line through netting me fourth. I felt out the grip of the R tires first lap and was within a second or so of the leader, closing in on 3rd after the essess the connection troubles started cropping up ultimately leading to everyone standing still after the hairpin and disconnecting down the back straight. Was sooo gutted, whether i would have made a podium or not, that race was setting up to be a scorcher!

Race2:Had to go buy this car, and the early d/c resulted in me getting a basic setup down. Unfortunately i went with R tires. I made a solid start, followed Joeninety down the outside to the first corner, he seemed to take it very wide so i cut in and was placed 4th. Having R tires i was able to hold on and gain ground through the corners, was quite happy with that, until we hit the main straight for the first time, and i was helpless to watch me stand still as everyone blasted past. I found myself in the middle part of the race in a lonely 6th until lap 4 where one of the TORC guys caught me up and made it interesting. He ultimately took my 6th and i just held onto 7th by the skin of my teeth being able to go nowhere down the main straight due to a serious lack of power. I'll know for next time...

Race3: Was wary of the Clio's running, and was soon punted off the track, fell back to 12, had a good fight with one of the TORC guys, passed a couple of others who had been punted off (Supersonic was one of them on lap 2), by lap 4 i was in 9th and well back. By lap 6 i was a good 20seconds behind 8th and a good 30seconds in front of 10th so i thought i'd turn my clutch/H shifter back on in the middle of the back straight and turn ABS back off (had turned it on for this race only seeing as it was the GT on S1's and really didnt want to make a meal of the first corner) when 8th seemed to drop it and i was a few seconds away....only to lose it at Spoon, so i stayed 9th.

Race4: Rolling start was interesting. I thought we were to go 150, at one point i was down to 130, and others up to 170, so who knows lol. I watched the leader cross the Timing point and i accelerated into the back of 5th place, i believe, as nobody else seemed to want to start the race with me lol Once again i was on R1's and it appeared S tires were the choice of the day. Although this circuit actually seemed to work for either choice, and was having a great 3 way battle for the lead. R tires worked best provided you took clean lines and got on the power early to keep in the draft beind the S tires with the extra power.

A few times i was mixed up in a few touches with 1st/2nd where i was confused as to what was going on but didnt cause any major offs. Going into last lap, Vrrm (i think) had taken the lead by a couple of seconds so i was to battle it out for 2nd, in the S bend on the gripier tires i braked later, went to go around the outside of the first and cut into the inside into the 2nd corner, where i believe i was a little too eager, pushing 2nd place out of the way, i backed off in the tunnel to give him the place, subsequently being caught by 4th and 5th, tried to hold onto 3rd but couldnt get the drive out of the last corner to hold the place and ended up 5th.

Didnt join the Clio race as i havnt bought the car yet and was out of money lol, i've just beated GT5P career as of yesterday again.

Long winded, hope i didnt screw up anyones race that i didnt notice. I felt i performed solidly and enjoyed myself alot.

There was certainly great racing last night  Had a few good races with Tizzla, supersonic, vrrm and a couple other TORC guys throughout the night. Thanks for the great races guys. 👍

Almost decided to give this game up last night!

Race 1
What a cool sight to see - 11 x F40's good to go - bet the guy in the GTR felt out of place.
@supersonic - I thought that i had caused your trip into the sand in race one by braking to early-which completely gutted me, did not feel like racing after that(just found out that Womble helped in that).

Race 2
I know the track - had the tune - got left in the dust - enough said:(

 I think everyone was going the wrong speed. I got up to 170 at one point & down to 130ish. I might have been the guy you hit as someone rammed into me just as the race started :P

Some of rolling start rules probably need to be modified as everybody was a bit confused. I think it should be, the leading AU/NZ driver slows to 150 km/h and controls the pack at that point. Any drivers behind can go faster than 150 to catch up to the lead driver but when they do reach him/her, they must fall in line & stay at the lead drivers pace, which is 150km/h. No overtaking allowed.

Secondly, the race begins when the lead AU/NZ driver crosses the first sector point. This means that you can now accelerate from 150 km/h but cannot pass the driver ahead you of until you cross the first sector line. If you pass the driver in front before the sector line, you must give the position back.

Yeah it was awesome to see all those red F40's lining up :D

I'm pretty sure it wasn't you who caused the accident. From my view, we were all very close together heading into degner. I'm not sure who was in front of me, maybe it was you but everyone braked for the corner, as did I, then I copped a big hit from behind and went sailing off into the sand. Everybody went by and when I got back on the track womble was sitting there, as if he was waiting to let me back by, so I assumed he was the one who hit me.

Wow, looks like I have stumble upon a brilliant race thread for us Aussies and Kiwi's!:D:tup:

I had wondered if you knew about this event but never thought to ask you.

As tizzla said, its every monday night, usually between 8-10:30ish. 5 or 6 races with a variety of cars & tracks.

Hope you can make it, as the more the people racing, the better :D

Buy having a better connection, lol. Well thats my excuse anyways... i try to get on MNR, been there for the last couple of weeks, but other committments prevent me being a 'consistant' competitor.

Yea, you definately need a better connection

Not sure what's happening tomorrow regarding the schedule. Usually its up by now on torc talk but nothing so far. There wasn't even a SAR schedule put up for this week, which is what MNR uses. So if nothing appears soon what does everybody want to do? Run last weeks schedule again or come up with a new one?

I would be more than happy to run last week's schedule, those events were very good and I enjoyed them a lot. :)

I think we should make a new schedule,

One that promotes good racing.

To be honest the only good races we have are at suzuka or fuji

Like the ford GT race on s2s is a joke, same with the high speed ring race, just wall riding and punting.

I think we should stick to suzuka and Fuji, i cant get anough of the clio races, and the GTR at fuji was great too 👍
