Thanks to everyone who participated last night, Once again it was highly enjoyable racing. Sorry for missing the first 2 races, I had to do something.

Yeah i saw you flashing on and off afew times and guessed as much - shame about that.

I had a pretty good run last night - seemed to host most of the races with no Tizz around and was put at the front of the grid every time - sorry about that TORC boys.

Race 1
Managed to lead the first race for 4 laps - hotly pursued by Supersonic - he slipped by just under the bridge after i out braked myself and in the attempt to overtake him ended up in the sand.
Aussienicko was close by to take second.

Race 2
Once again on grid 1 with Toiven(NZ) in grid 2 - we were side by side thru T1 and coming into T2, i braked to let him thru - unfortunitly he did the same which then caused abit of a concertina effect with the mass of TORC boys bearing down on us.
Kiwi 1 - 2 finish but not 100% happy with myself for the earlier accidental blocking tactic.

Race 3 & 4
Front grid again for both kiwi boys hoping to keep the RX7's in front of a angry bunch of Clio's.
Was never going to happen!
Great racing though.

Enjoyed last nights guy's thanks for the clean racing.

Good racing last night. Decided to go harder/more aggressive this week & push early to get in the top 3, which paid off most of the time. Can't remember much detail about each race but here goes:

Race 1: Started 3rd, was up to 2nd during the first lap. Then it was a case of battling with joeninety for the next few laps out front. Managed to get by after he made a mistake but was then redrafted through 200R & towards spoon. Ran a wider line towards spoon in an attempt to discourage a pass being made but then saw joeninety go sliding off into the sand, having made a mistake. From there just kept it on the track and won the race.

Race 2: VERY lucky to make this race. In between these 2 races my net dropped out and i was frantically trying to get it going again. It came back on at 8:26:07 and i quickly joined but didn't think I'd made the same race as everybody else. But I did & started 3rd again. First few cars made a gap to me after I was held up a little and so I was pushing hard to catch up. That brought a mistake on and i went wide in denger. Then battled the rest of the race with stonemonkey and finished 4th. Was pretty annoyed that I made the mistake as I was having a good run and slowly catching the 2 leaders.

Race 3: Started 4th and quickly got into 2nd. Had a race long duel with aussienicko which was great. Put off passing him in 200R instead to set up a pass down the back straight. Did this and purposely ran wide through the corner so as to be on the inside for the chicane. Kept the lead, ran down to the bottom of the track to stop him from passing on the main straight and I won, finishing nose to tail with him.

Race 4: Probably the best & worst race of the night funnily enough. The best because for almost the full 5 laps it was battles & hard racing. Started 4th again & it was mad, stonemonkey & myself in the top 3. Mad managed to get into the lead while i was slightly held up behind stonemonkey for the first lap or so. When i got past i quickly caught back up to mad and then had some great hard close racing. Into turn 1 on lap 4 (i think?) i tapped mad and he ran onto the grass so i slowed to let him back by. This however took away the gap we had to stonemonkey in 3rd, so again it was back to a 3 way battle. He got by me that lap and we diced for a bit which gave mad a good lead. During the last lap i chose to stay behind them to set up a pass on the back straight, however this is where it all went wrong and how the race went from great to terrible. I had gotten the draft off stonemonkey and was side by side about to turn into 130R. At the last second though a german driver decided to dive down the inside of me and of course 3 wide into 130R does not go. Stonemonkey backed off to make the corner however the german driver hit me & i went straight off into the gravel. I was so angry. Got back on the track to finish 5th but I couldn't believe it. We were well past the point of no return where unless you're side by side you don't try to make a pass because it will never work out. And secondly every one knows even 2 wide through 130R is risky, so there's no way 3 wide would work, yet this driver decided to do it & at the very last second, ruining my race :(

Race 5: The game failed to match a few drivers including myself the first time it loaded, which was so frustrating. How can it fail to get a game going when we have 8-10 drivers all from the same region trying to join? Anyway, when it reloaded and I joined a race, I was only with 2 other randoms in clios. At first i decided not to bother with the race and just sat on the start/finish line for about 30 seconds. Then changed my mind and decided to race and went pretty well. Caught them back up and finished 2nd.

Race 6: Like the last time i drove the 512bb in MNR, it was a challenge to say the least. Having very little time in the car made it difficult in the opening laps although i was going ok, leading the first lap then running 3rd for a bit. I was obviously using the wrong gear (1st) in the hairpin and chicane because another driver twice slammed into the back of me, i guess not expecting myself to be going so slowly through the corner. I ran off the track on lap 3 i think & fell to 4th but from there finally got hold of the car, ran some good laps and finished 3rd.

Race 7 (Additional with just mad & tosk (i think) driving BMW M3's): Started 2nd and for the first 3 laps it was me and mad swapping positions for the lead. On lap 4 though he ran off into denger 2, I got by and that was it. Had a 10 second lead, drove cleanly for the rest and won.

Had a fun time, so thanks everyone for the great racing :) Just wish the randoms wouldn't ruin the races sometimes.

Like supersonic-88 I decided to be more aggresive on the first lap. It paid off too.:) I can never remember what happened in races but i'll try my best.

I missed the first two races because I had to do something else. So onto race 3.

Race 3
Started 10th and was 6th exiting turn 1 I think. Had a great battle with some of the TORC guys. I seemed to have much better pace and I was all over them. Eventually I got through on lap 3 and had to go all out to catch supersonic and Nick. Even though I was doing low 15's I still didn't catch them in the end. But 1 more lap and I think I would've been right behind them.

Race 4
Had a good race with supersonic and Stonemonkey for a little while. At one point I actually pulled quite a sizeable margin only to throw it off the road at spoon.:banghead: That mistake allowed supersonic to catch up. Then on lap 4 he gave me a little tap at turn 1 and 2 and I dropped a couple of wheels off the track but quickly rejoined. supersonic waited(Thanks for that:tup:). I think I pulled a lead and won? Can't remember.

Race 5
Well AlbertPark hosted, Womble and I connected no trouble but there were 8 grid spots but only 3 taken. So i'm assuming you all failed to connect to AP. I grabbed the lead pretty early and drove away to a 20 second lead and won.

Race 6
Absolute disaster for me. I had a ridiculous amount of lag and the car was very tricky to drive. I got hit at turn 1 then hit again through the esses.:grumpy: I parked up under the bridge for a lap. Then Tosk stopped beside me and revved so I drove around with him practicing my drifting skills.:D:doper: He said it looked cool.:D

Race 7(additional race)
Stock M3's. Pretty good race with supersonic up until lap 4 where I made a hash of Degner. It was getting late and my instant thought was "When you make stupid mistakes like that it's time to stop". I just drifted and spun in the next couple of laps to pass time.

Had great fun once again last night. Hopefully I can make it next week.:nervous: I've got an assignment due tuesday that I haven't started.:nervous: So I probably won't make it unless I work hard over this week.

Is this event over?!

I'm having a good break from GT (loooong overdue). One of my Torctalk mates 'CrazyHorse' will be running the Monday Night races (as well as his usual Sunday Afternoon races).

I'll try and keep this thread updated with his latest races for the comming week, but to be 100% sure i'd check in with the TT threads.

Thanks Rypien.
I was looking through the TORC forums for this but i'm abit unfamilar with the setup.

Was just wondering about the - STandicap system applies (640)?

10laps at Suzuka in a Art Morrison :nervous:- what the hell lets put N1's on just to make it interesting!

Looking forward to it.

Not a very good car match overtaking wise, but still nice racing Paulie. :) 👍

Time for me to go to sleep. :)

The STandicap system means you have either the option to tune your suspension but have to use 640PP or run with default suspension settings but 650PP. Basically you're choosing whether you want to have greater cornering abilities but a weaker engine or a stronger engine but weaker cornering. Sounds interesting, however have to admit I'm much more a fan of just simple event regulations.

10 laps at suzuka should be good, often find that 5 laps isn't quite enough if you're chasing somebody down. Haven't looked at any tunes yet for the cars so hoping that I can find something & be competitive. I'll also try and keep the thread updated with the race events if other guys haven't, although I'm sure you've all got it covered :)👍

See you tonight 👍

Time for me to go to sleep. :)

Made it interesting for me at least, I had to overtake in corners. I had a T1 car, you had a T2 car.:)

I won't be racing tonight.:indiff: Just way to busy at the moment. Have fun guys.👍

I may be able to make it tonight, i'll be racing the F40 in all my races! :D Will miss the first race, and will probably join the Art Morrison race but pull to the side as i will be in the F40 if i do join. Are there tire restrictions? I havnt loaded up GT5P since my last MNR 2 weeks ago. Be a bit boring if everyone is tuning these cars to R tires.

No tyre restrictions,

I will be running R tyres, would be silly not to with 650pp to use up 👍

Yeah...just ran a few tests with the F40, will be running S tires for tonights races, Rtires are just too boring.

Apologise in advance for not using the correct car in a couple of races (will be F40 exclusive tonight), i dont have the money to buy them as i'm running off my HDD GT5P as my Disc copy is at a mates house and the saves arnt interchangable.

EDIT: Ok, I got disconnected at 2nd race start, im too tired to wait up till the F40 race (havn't been near a bed since sunday mornin due to a mamoth effort to get Killzone2 top 1% ribbon/trophy) so i'm calling it a night unfortunately. I was looking forward to getting to race against a field of F40's but alas, maybe another day.

Would be interested in having people list their best laps in the F40 if that would be possible? Thanx, sorry about the races tonight guys. Will try to be a more staple regular in the future.

Terrible night of racing for me.

Race 1: The first event need a clio v6 tuned, however I couldn't find the damn car anywhere in the game. Looked under renault and all I saw was the v6 00. So i assumed perhaps it was a typo & entered the race with my clio. However of course when the grid line up appeared everybody was in a different clio to mine. So i decided just to pull to the side at the start, then go into the pits for the rest, as i didn't want to get in trouble for racing a different car. Tosk came in the pits to meet me and we mucked around for the rest of race, sometimes racing, sometimes spinning off on purpose.

Race 2: Chose the 430 to race. Started 3rd. Lights went green and the first 2 cars ahead went nowhere so I drove around them only to suddenly have cars going all of the place lagging big time. Got to the first corner only to have the game disconnect. Sigh.

Race 3: Knew this would be a shocker before it even begun. Started 1st, was punted off at the first corner, nobody stopped and waited. Then realized that my setup must be stuffed because I was massively slower than everybody else. Went to the pits and stayed there for the rest of the race.

Race 4: Finally found the right clio thanks to mad, who i was talking to in the chat room. Used that and was having a great race with vrrm, tizzla & joeninety. At the end of lap 7 though i went slightly wide out of the final chicane, got the tires a little dirty, put my foot down to accelerate and the car just snapped sideways and there was no way i could save it. Ended up facing backwards in the pit entry. Even if i turned the car around there would be no point. The guys i was racing had passed me and were now miles in the distance and I would have been just driving around by myself. So again parked in the pits.

Race 5: Didn't bother with it. Had something to watch on TV & after having a bad night's racing decided to end it there.

Didn't think the STandicap-system worked that well really. In the first 3 races I think i was the only driver running 640PP, then in race 4 i chose to run 650PP as did everybody else. Nobody seemed to be bothering with it, perhaps everybody has worked out its faster to just run the full PP with stock suspension?

Hopefully go better next week.

@supersonic - was wondering how you managed to get your car facing out of the pit entry - i had only just seen you disappear around the corner and was expecting to draft you down the straight.
That has to be the fastest parallel park ever!

Some good action tonight !

Not the best turnout but not too bad.

Race 1 - Clio tuned - With guys running different pp levels (640/650) grid was all mixed up. Think i started from 2nd or 3rd row. Bit off biffo at the start but by the end of lap 1 was chasing Vrmm and Joeracer, cant remember what happened to Vrmm but me and joeracer took off. We were neck and neck for many laps and in the end he ran out of road at the final chicane at around lap 7/8 giving me the win

Race 2 - open choice - was hi-jacked by some Russian guy. re matched race with a couple of people, had a good battle with someone i think

Race 3 - Art Morrison vette - heaps of fun in the old corvette, Me and womble had a good battle and a few others for some laps, loads of people going off. Hard to keep this thing on the road for 10 laps. Went off at end of race and gave the lead to Toivonen (in a GTR) but got past womble again.

Race 4 - open choice - Great race with a number of people. Vrmm chose to run the 05 wrx which is a very close match with the clios. I went off a few times and did a pit stop all the while battling with Vrmm, supersonic and joeninety for most of this race. Vrmm and supersonic pulled of for some reason, me and j90 lead the race then i think womble snuck in for 2nd spot (j90 ran out of gas i think? )

Race 5 - F40 - only 4 of us, me and j90 took early lead, i went off deep in sand and spent about 5-6 laps trying to catch joe, he was running 640 with tuned suspension i beleive while i had 650 but standard suspension. Had about 2 seconds left to make up at around lap 8 but then joe had a senior moment at t1 gifting me the lead. Was hard work keeping the f40 doing 9s for 10 laps very tired now!

Thanks for the update - I tried to get into some of the SAR's last night but the server drops were terrible so i gave up.

I have a question regarding tyre choice.

If I drop the 10PP handicap for suspension changes does that also mean R1's can be fitted or are S3's the control tyre for this event.

Hope to see u's on track tonight.

Depends on the race. Looking at the event schedule, races 1 & 5 say Power, Weight, Tyres & Aero (where applicable) adjustable to 650PP. So in those 2 races you can pick any tyres you like, even if you take the handicap and drive with -10PP. But for races 2, 3 & 4 it says S3's so you MUST use S3's regardless if you take the handicap.

From what I've seen & tested so far, taking the handicap is a disadvantage as you not only lose HP/gain weight but you also may have to use lower spec tires. The advantages of tuned suspension don't outweigh the loss from those things, so I'll just be running the max PP allowed with stock suspension.

Just got my cars sorted before,

Damn that test car is a nightmare on s3s, feels even worse than on s2s?!

Good luck keeping that on track for 10 laps

Hoping for a better turnout this week 👍

Won't be there again guys, sorry.:indiff: This is what happens when I go back to school, my free time goes out the window.:(

Have fun guys.👍

I may be only able to make the first two tonight guys, looks like a great schedule. Hope to see big grids!

Best night overall results wise for me this evening with a few surprises.

Race 1: Really like driving that clio and it was a race long battle between tizzla and myself. Constant position swapping for the lead. Mucked up twice on the last lap though which cost me a chance at winning. First coming out of spoon I got very sideways and lost speed, which tizzla took advantage of by going into the lead. Then in 130R I went wide and copped a penalty so that was that. Finished 2nd, a few seconds behind. Wasn't happy about the mistakes but a great race.

Race 2: Had never driven HSR online & not much at all offline either so wasn't expecting much. However pretty much dominated this race which was surprise number one. Don't know what happened to everybody else but had a 4-5 second lead the entire race, which was nice.

Race 3: Surprise number 2. I hate driving that GT LM. I just can't do it well and wasn't looking forward to this race. Yet for the first 9 laps I lead the race, which I was wrapped about. Just tried to be very careful on the throttle & steering, even if it meant I had to go a little slower. Could have made life a little easier for myself if I didn't half spin the car at the beginning of lap 8 which cut my 7 second lead down to nothing, which allowed tizzla to catch back up & pass me. Going down the straight to start the final lap I said to myself 'just have to hope he makes a mistake'. A few corners later he did, which allowed me to get back in front. Then I desperately tried to go fast while holding him off & won the race just! I was very happy about that, as I was expecting to finish outside the top 5.

Race 4: The first few laps of this one were terrible because of other randoms who decided to ram their way through. Cars were going everywhere but after 2 laps I managed to get to 3rd and then tried and hunt down vrrm & tizzla. Caught vrrm after he & tizzla had a coming together and battled him for the final few laps. Came 3rd but the race was lost in the opening last getting held up by those randoms >.<

Race 5: Was really looking forward to this one as I loved how the F40 felt in free run. However quickly realized that my tune wasn't right. I was running with R2 tyres and either I had too little HP or my gearing was wrong because the car was good through the turns (especially the esses) but straight line speed was terrible. I then pushed too hard trying to keep up and made some mistakes which had me now 4th and really behind the lead group. doubleH in third made a mistake on lap 5 or 6 and I got back up to 3rd, then pushed like crazy to keep a gap to him, so as to make the podium. Disappointed though that my tune was stuffed which cost me any chance at competing for the win.

Had fun guys, look forward to next week! :D

Yep, great racing mate it was good quality clean side by side action.

Race 2 was ruined by a torc member, TORC_waynz, his lag was extremely bad and was taking everyone out. i just pulled over.

Best race was race 3! i knew the race would be won by whoever made the least mistakes. I made a huge mistake early on in the race and was down in 5th or 6th by end of lap 1. You were 10 seconds in front. I just kept my head down and got into a rythm. I had the lead on lap 8 or 9, i had a good gap but lost concentration on lap 10, i caught back up and almost had you but made a few fatal mistakes near the end of the lap that cost me the race. gap was
.014 at the end 👍

Pretty small turnout and a few annoying punters but really enjoyed the battles we had your a top class steerer
