gone from low because no MNR(server down) to high as Sonic spotted online access up -Race 3 on! back to low as LionFace and I were left frozen on the track.....PD have ditched the kiwi's.

i tried to access online but it took a couple of goes. So it might not be the night for it. I'll try it out anyway at 22 with the clio.

The servers may be up but it's still buggy out there.

Race 3 & 4 have been only vrrm & myself while the others couldn't get in. Now in race 5, I got to the grid, had sound but the rest of the game had frozen :( Needed to restart the ps3 to fix.

SAR: 2 4 4 dns dns
MNR: dns dns 1 2 1

Despite the difficulties, MNR was a lot of fun for me.

Race 3 was leading down straight in the F40 with Blair drafting & about to step out and pass, when I came upon J90 stationery on the grid (he had a system fail and was unable to move), I dodged, but Blair didn't have time. Surprise! BLAM! As far as I was concerned he just disappeared. In the later laps I wondered who was whittling my lead down, but I held Blair off to win. Thanks Wayne! lol.

Race 4 Just Blair & myself, I chose a Clio, he an Elise. I frustrated the heck out of him with tight lines & a bit more torque swapping places a couple of times for 4.5 laps, but he got me to win by half a sec. Top drive.

Race 5 managed an early lead from Ripping Silk, but got a gap coming onto the straight end of lap 1 by accidentally booting it early which caused an off track faster line. Couple of laps later nicko wore me down, then we had a great to and fro race for 5 or 6 laps. Very very close all the way.

Absolute fairness from other drivers made the night excellent fun for me. Close racing, during which I saw top skills, complete respect for the other driver, and a focus on playing the game honorably rather than seeking cheap advantage. The quality of others enabled me a couple of unexpected wins against drivers better than myself tonight.

Thank you gentlemen.

Surely it doesn't count?

I will run tonight if we can round up a few bodies... normal time.

@ Rob, Blair, nicko and silk (and if there was anyone else) - There is, of course, no problem with your finishes from last night... 👍

However, and because of our very specific server probs, I'm happy for you to re-running with us tonight. With a potentially larger field, you perhaps stand to lose points (...I know you know that), but, if you wanted to jump in tonight, I don't see any problem. I'd prefer that to any 'ghosting' and potential (albeit inadvertent) obstruction of points-scorers. Hopefully you can make it in for races 1 & 2 tonight, regardless, and keep us company :)

What happens if you can't make certain race/s tonight? :nervous:

I can most likely make the 1st and definitely the 5th one, however race 2 I highly doubt. I have to pick up somebody right when that race will be on :grumpy: Would it be possible for me to race any free drivers before hand (before 8pm) or afterwards (after 10pm) for race 2?

Last night:

Race 1: Server maintenance
Race 2: Server maintenance
Race 3: 2
Race 4: 1
Race 5: Game froze on the starting grid, had to quit.

I had some fun last night, although I don't think I got into any serious MNR action due to server coughs. I should be able to make it again tonight, but I'm not bothered about points, its not what MNR is about, its all about great racing with some great drivers!

For this week's MNR, B, I'm happy for people to run whenever they can i.e. tonight isn't a '...be there, or be stiffed!' affair.

If you can organise a separate race 2, cool... 👍

For me, before 8.00pm is tough, B... I get home around 7.20pm, and I'm usually starving

After 10.00pm is fine for me, but I know that's late for the Kiwi's...

I'll let you guys, all who intend to run tonight, to come up with a schedule... maybe we could even split it over two nights i.e. run races 3-5 tonight, 1 & 2 tomorrow... whatever works. I'll look in again later around 5.00pm AET, and whatever works best for most at that point, will be the go :)

Note to all... these ad hoc races are just for this week. In the normal course of things, if you miss the race meet, it's just bad luck. This week, however, people were obviously available to run at the allotted time, but were prevented - a little flexibility is therefore in order

@ Ripping_Silk,
In race 1 at Fuji SAR, apologies for the contact on lap 8, I went into turn 1 toooooo hot :scared: Waited for you to recover then had a great battle again, thanks mate. 👍

Managed a Race 4 and 5 last night.

Race 4: Only three. Me and Aussienicko in the Clio, Joeninety in the 111R. Nicko and I swapping the lead several times a lap, with me taking the win by a tenth or so. JoeNinety not quite having the pace in the Lotus to mix it up but shadowing us closely the whole race. Was a rewarding battle, very close with no offs or touches - respect.

Race 5: Maybe 6 MNR guys in here. I seem to be the race creator these days when I enter, and once again I (GT-R) get the Pole advantage in this race. Vrrm took me on the first lap, with Aussienicko taking me soon afterwards (All in the GT-R). I just went backwards when I hit the straights, ending up with a lonely third place, while seeing the two lead drivers battling closely far ahead.

Points? - no matter to me. I can't do MNR (or SAR or FNR) regularly enough to
warrant taking points. But I don't mind filling out the field when I can.

See you tonight then ? 👍 I think there will be a few of us there. I'll probably be racing in whatever is going down.

oh and thanks to Lion-Face for the extra-curricular F40 race and chat. I found a tenth or two more in my setup while you were Killing Zones, so maybe you'll actually be able to see me in your rear view mirror next time.!

crap.. sorry for dbl post..

Had a great time last night! Only managed to join the last 2 races but it certainly paid off. Had a fantastic duel with ripping all throughout the fourth race and a really close finish behind him! 👍

Fifth race I managed to get pass ripping on lap 3 or 4 and catch vrrm soon after, where I battled with him the remainder of the race. But when it came down to the last corner lap 10 I was nowhere near close enough to vrrm to have a chance at 1st so he cruised over the line!

So my finishes were 2nd & 2nd. But I am happy to rerun the entire race schedule tonight just for the fun of MNR.

You're call on races 4 and 5 tonight, nicko, but I for one would enjoy you running the whole thing with us

Well, I don't know what happened, but just after the player matching screen finished, the GT Logo appeared for a minute, then it just sat on the loading screen without the grid of players appearing. Ahh well, catch you guys in race 2 (hopefully!).

Had a great night as usual tonight guys. Thanks to all who attended. 👍 Here are my results:

1 - 2nd
2 - 1st
3 - 2nd
4 - 4th
5 - 6th

Looking forward to next week's racing. :)

Had a **** awful night. Car setups were wrong, couldn't get the F430 to grip, didn't get in to two races, F40 was rubbish. The only fun I had was in the Elise, and even then I screwed the pooch.

That was a very enjoyable night for me! Actually, just the F40 race really topped it off :D

1st race - A couple of failed attempts, ended up joining in with joeninety, he pulled over at the start as he didn't want to race scibba (he said in much more colorful terms) I ended up having a tussle with scibba till about lap 8 where i dropped it on the grass avoiding him. Ended race 2nd to scibba.

2nd race - a Fuji setup I cut and pasted from one of the garages here in between races. My 2nd time driving the car, my 2nd time I've disliked the experience greatly :D Sorry to joeninety and mrvajj for my antics at the back.

3rd race - A couple of failed attempts left me with a 3 player grid with Stonemonkey and ED55. Held onto the first corner and pulled away from there. The two behind had a bit of a scrap the first couple of laps gifting me a 2 second lead at the end of lap 3. I hadn't settled into the car by this stage, and I was in a tug 'o war with Stone for sector times, I had the measure of him in the 1st and 2nd sector, while he could pull me back in the 3rd (i still don't get the 3rd sector right). I was expecting him to catch me at the pace I was doing (low 1:41's) until about lap 6 where I got into the groove and started to hit mid-low 1:40's where I opened up the gap to about 4.5 seconds across the line. Finally nailed an F40 race in MNR that I can be somewhat happy with!

Race4 - A couple of failed attempts again left me with ripping silk on the starting grid. First time ever driving the clio and using one of TZT tunes I cut and pasted between races, the car is a breeze to drive! I was all over the back of silk for the first couple of laps, although couldn't make an impression on any of the normal overtaking spots. I was a bit cheeky and made a few moves side by side through 130r, ended up taking the lead into the first corner of the 3rd lap, in which I may have pushed silk wide, he held on and i threw it away at degner2. Caught back up to him (he waited a bit) and attempted a few more passes and some side by side racing, but ultimately the race was his, he drove well and frankly, anyone putting up with my antics deserved to finish ahead of me.

Race5 - Great field! Too bad it wasn't for the F40 race! I expected more F430's on the grid, but as it was, the Nissans pulled away in the first couple of laps. mrvajj, myself, ausnicko and ED55 had a tussle in the early stages of the race, I ended up pulling a bit ahead of the F430's. ED55 managed to catch up to me by lap 5, and knowing full well I could let him pass and I wouldn't see him again, I thought i'd have some fun with the big ol' Nissan. He drafted me down the front straight, as he passed over the start/finish line i pulled behind him to catch some speed, he was ahead going into the braking zone, knowing he'd have to haul up early to catch his speed, i dove down the inside and came out of the hairpin side by side, he took the next corner from the tighter inside line and ran wide, I took the normal line and left no room to spare for ED to jump back on the track, a bit naughty but I was having a good laugh. He eventually caught me a few laps later and put me in my place, was good while it lasted. :D

My results.

Race1: 1st (split group of 2 MNR's)
Race2: Dead Last (10th on screen, not sure how many non-MNR there were)
Race3: 1st (split group of 3 MNR's)
Race4: 2nd (split group of 2 MNR's)
Race5: 6th on screen, not sure how many randoms in game. (EDIT: maybe 5th as I finished ahead of Nicko for that round and he claims 6th??)

Tuesday Night Racing:
Race 1: Only me (F430), stonemonkey and aussienicko. stonemonkey took off in the 430, aussienicko battled him a while but had some trouble keeping his GT-R on the island, allowing me to catch up. We diced a while with him taking second and me third.

Race 2: The Clio drivers made their run, leaving 3 or 4 of us battling for the minor places in the 111R's. I got 2 shortcut penalties in turn 4, the little Lotus turns so quick. This dropped me back off the tail off Toivenen and DEVIE. I managed to catch up again, but not enough time left to attempt anything. 7th.

Race 3: just me and JoeNinety in F40's and IRT_Rotary in an nsx. I got second behind the NSX. Kinda depressing with such small fields. JoeNinety had had enough and called it quits for the night. (I'll take a 1st for that then).

Race 4: Me and Lion-Face in Clio's, the track to ourselves. I took a win by .3 of a second.

Race 5: An almost full grid. DEVIE has rockets attached for the start, left us behind. I got tapped and took a spin with grass on my tyres. Rotary is back with the nsx. vrrm and supersonic passed me, each trying to get past the nsx. Vrrm had a couple of moments and I got past him as he recovered, then he got past me a couple of laps later, then spun trying to catch 2nd and third. last lap: DEVIE by a mile, supersonic and the nsx, i think I had enough of a gap on vrrm to take 4th, then........... a power cut (!)... on the last corner of the last lap. I think I was hosting, so apologies to those who didn't get their money.

3rd, 7th, 1st, 1st, 4th.

Overall a frustrating night with so many guys failing to connect and very small grids because of that.
