I find it to be easy to cause havoc on Operation Locker by going with the outside route. The outside route is not used nearly enough and it makes it easy to bypass the cluster. Once the cluster is bypassed, it is fairly easy to come in from behind and pick off quite a few people on the other team. A full squad is usually more than enough to cause problems. While that squad is back capping and causing the other team to pull people away from the cluster, the rest of the team needs to push the cluster back and gain the middle point. Sacrificing one squad to cause a distraction to gain ground is a wonderful solution on Operation Locker.
This is probably the best solution. A full 5 man squad working together should be more then enough to break up a bottleneck from behind.
Is driving the EOD Bot as bad in BF4 as it was in BF3? That thing was awful to drive in BF3. I absolutely hated having to use that thing to complete an Assignment.
I had BF3 on PC, I have BF4 on PS4. Its alot easier to control on PS4 with a DS4.
The attack choppers are garbage in BF4. The mobility of the attack chopper is dreadful. The scout choppers are everything the attack choppers wish they could be.
Attack helicopters are stiffer then the scout choppers, but I think they make up for it somewhat in firepower. If you have a good gunner (30mm cannons) with laser guided missiles you can take out infantry and tanks rather easily. The problem is most pilots and gunners are rubbish. Countless times Ive joined someobody in a scout helicopter with a stinger and reapair tool to assist them only for them to have some lame crash.
The biggest problem I have with both helicopters is the lack of defense. Like the jets, I believe the only thing that should really be able to take you down is another helicopter. As it stands now on any map without buildings to hide behind you get lit up like a christmas tree by stingers.
And by the way its pretty easy to steal the enemy's attack helicopter at Shanghai. You just need to park by where the enemy chopper spawns and have your gunner jump out and take it once it spawns. Me and a squad member did this a couple of times. It was nice having air superiority
I have found one way to hold on with the helicopters without the gyro stabilizer. You can gain altitude and hope that you are far enough away to not allow for a follow up shot. With the added elevation, you can sometimes have enough time to recover before crashing. However, it is not an overly reliable method, but it is an occasional solution. Gyro stabilizers are definitely a better option.
This definitely needs to be patched, it would really help the helicopters defenses if you didnt have to waste an upgrade on a gyro stabilizer.
A few other patches Id like to see
- AA missles on jets and helis need to reload faster
- flares/ecm jammer on jets and helis need to reload faster
- pistols are too powerful/too accurate
Right now the only thing Im missing from the PC to PS4 version of this game is the custom 24/7 fast vehicle spawn servers. I've never been a fan of cycling through all 10 maps
Dawnbreaker is probably the best map in the game for me personally. Lots of cover for good infantry fights. Lots of cover for the helicopters. If I could choose a server rotation of 3 maps I would choose Dawnbreaker, Operation Locker, and Shanghai.
And one more thing, I think Battlefield needs more then 64 players. The next game needs 96 or 128 players. Either that or make the maps smaller and reduce the number of flags.
