Battlefield: Hardline

I'm still waiting for my PS4 beta code. It's been a week now & still no email. Signed up via PS4 with the access section on Battlefield 4.

Waiting waiting waiting

So yeah, I had to play the beta on PC because my PS4 is still in repairs, and I can only get so much time with my friend's PS4.

Suffice to say, I'm unimpressed, not sure if it is a negative wave I got with games lately, but this one and Destiny have gave me a personal impression of boredom.

Levels need a bit of balancing, is quite easy to spawn-camp from a few sections in the game, the game is too hectic (granted, you know what to do but it doesn't gave you the juxtaposition that something like BF3 or BF4 had in order to see yourself in chaotic battles). Kudos to Viceral for optimizing the game but some normal glitches from BF4 are still there (sound loading delays, texture poping, etc...), netcode seems better, but is just a re-skin, I knew that before playing it but it ... lacks.

For some reason they though that from a game mechanic standpoint the trucks work as tanks/LAVs and that they can be integrated into the game in same way as on normal BF games but they can't, cars are useless in many instances because they can take very little damage, trucks or whatever are simply too over powered (this can be resolved by RPGs, if the trucks weren't so freaking fast), LMGs are also a bit overpowered in terms of fire rate and damage per bullet, helicopters lack use, the levels are a bit confusing and somewhat counterintuitive (Sena crossing didn't had this problem in BF3 and the map closely resembles it, same for Shanghai and it's flow).

As I stated before, I have no plans in buying this one this time around, maybe rent it to see the story and that would be it, as a multiplayer experience is quite ... lacking for me. It doesn't help either that the same issues are being carried over.

I think that's a good thing.
They'll try to make a complete game out of it instead of just a DLC looking content for BF4.
It is said that EA listens to the community but I think they saw the pre-order numbers and chickened out.
I wasn't planning on getting hardline at release anyway.

The multiplayer trailer is a step shy from being a Counter Strike montage. Didn't strike me as interesting. The campaign.... well..... the characters seem to flow well and are looking better than past BF's. Other than that, it doesn't do much for me either.

I had hope for this game, until I heard about some of the things in the trailer. Shame on EA for perpetuating the "RIGHT-WINGERS ARE RACIST LOL" garbage. They've lost a lot of the respect I had for them.

I won't be buying this game, and will be loathe to buy any more EA games or DLC.

Hotwire mode revealed

Judging by the trailer and subsequent blog post, Hotwire seems to work like a constantly moving game of conquest. Instead of flags, there are hot cars. The team that holds the most cars for the longest will bleed out the enemy's tickets and win the game.

Truthfully, while driving around like a maniac in a video game is always welcome, I was kinda hoping that it would be something like Heist(?) from the beta, where the criminals have to get to the marked cars, steal them and drive to their base with the cops in hot pursuit (hehehe) trying to protect them.

On the plus side, the trailer has definetly piqued my interest in the game again. Everything looks much better than the beta and I like the cleaner HUD elements.

Also, the tracer dart is back and the RPG-7 is a pickup now.

I think this game would really benefit from AI in the multiplayer, Titanfall-esque to make it seem that much more realistic and exciting

Battlefield Hardline Beta coming soon!

http://www.battlefield.com/hardline...pen-beta?om_u=2309254189&om_i=_BUysmHB8_E1DYw

Today we are announcing that Battlefield Hardline's open multiplayer beta will be active between February 3 and February 8*. Available to players worldwide on PC via Origin, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, the open beta will give you a small taste of what's in store when the game hits the streets beginning March 17.

* The beta will be available February 4-8 in Japan on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

I thought Hardline already came out last year?

It's all part of EA's plan. First bi-yearly sequels, then yearly sequels and now... Yearly reboots.

But no, there was a closed beta and it was slated for release in October (I think?) but was delayed until March (I think?).

Oh okay because I was watching a lot of Hardline videos last year even in June 2014 and heard it was going to be released last year 2014. Plus with the typical track record for EA, usually the game released a month or two after the beta. So with the beta gameplay videos coming out in June of 2014, I really thought the game was out already.

So yes it makes perfect sense why I thought the game was already out. ;)

Those were just sponsored videos of an alpha demo that popular YouTubers got invited to.

Visceral are adamant that they want the game polished and running smoothly on launch. That's why they're doing two betas as well as having pushed the release to March. After the horrid release of BF4 and its subsequent abandonment by DICE SE (although thanks to DICE LA who have kept it alive), people aren't convinced. Some are saying that it's not a 'true Battlefield game', or that 'it's just a DLC. Shouldn't be full priced.' Visceral know that they're fighting an uphill battle, so they're being as transparent and as upfront as possible.

A semi-closed Beta was announced and immediately released during the EA conference last year. A limited amount of PS4 and PC players were able to play it on a first-come-first-serve basis.

I was in the first beta on the PS4 and PC and was severely unimpressed. It really felt like Payday 2 with vehicles, but not as in-depth. I've been playing Battlefield since 1942 came out and this beta really left a bad taste in my mouth.. They're gonna have had to given this a huge overhaul since the first beta launch to get my attention back.

Yep, this game is quite bad. I know, it's a beta, but it's just bad as of right now. I enjoyed the first beta SOOOOO much more, pretty sad about it.
