Rubber banded my way to $20m credits, went on a spending spree but kept around $5m in the account for the sole purpose of buying any Pescarolo LMP that came up in the UCD.

Had been about 10 days and was getting a little bored so I checked out the UCD last night & saw the Takata Dome NSX with the green wheel's, bought it and took it for a blast around Nurb type V, was so impressed I went & bought the premium version as well as the the Raybrig NSX, Done a couple of practice races on Nurb (trying to find best car to do 4/24 hour races with) and came back to the UCD only to see the Judd GV5 car for $3.8m when I only had around $2.8M, tried selling a few cars but would have had to sell alot of my premiums just to buy it so I decided to let it go, Grrrrr so irritating.

After getting incredibly frustrated by spinning out over and over again in my "brick-on-wheels" in the Supercar Nostalgia competition and spending about 500,000 on upgrades to one car and a completely new car, I realized that the tire requirement was not "Sports Hard" as I originally suspected. I changed tires and suddenly I won by like 5 seconds. D'oh!

What are your stupidest moments since you started playing GT5?

lol... I so did the same thing in the Sports Truck Race...
Because of this, i have 2x Awesome Trucks, (Some 600 BHP or something).
Damn comfort soft tyres lol

Either passing up some really good B-Spec names (D.Bell) but that pales in comparision to the exorbitant sum I blew on tires trying to beat the B-spec FR cup. Later found out that yes, the B-spec driver really needs the sports mediums to keep from spinning out at EVERY corner.

I was about to try the Japanese 80's Cup or whatever, and since I like to use premiums wherever possible, I looked on the possible opponents list for one. I was specifically looking for the premium S13 (I'm used to thinking of the S13 as an 80's car, I had no idea there were any later S13s in GT... or at all, maybe, but it's too long ago to remember). It wasn't there, but I figured it'd work anyway, so I went out and bought one, and of course when I tried to race it it didn't work. I couldn't figure out why. Then I realized... oh that's why... it's a 1990 model! ARGH! *multiple facepalm*

I didn't have much money at the time, so that was pretty annoying.

I saw the german touring car seasonal and saw that the Mercedes Evolution II or something like that was eligible. I went on over to the UCD an lo and behold, it was there. I bought it immediatley and maxed it out. Then i tried to enter it in the event but a message came up saying this car is not eligible for this event. I said WHAT? out loud and checked the eligble cars. Turns out, it was the TOURING CAR that was eligible and not the one i had bought. I can't even look at it anymore.

Pressing the restart button on 3/4 in an endurance.

Today I was racing on the Ring, after the long straight I lost a bit of concentration with the thought, this race is in the pocket, then I slipped out on the grass in one of the last corners and got 180'd. After I turned around I pressed L1 because an opponent was nearby and the moment I released L1 I was driving into the wall which separated the circuit with the pit-road...

Edit: Hiring a Bob.

Just a couple of things spring to mind:

1) For the golf gti seasonal event, I bought the IV gen model, just to racing mod it for the event, just for 🤬 and gigs. You can imagine my anger then, when I discover that the racing mod version wasnt allowed to race!

2) Doing a race on Monza, I saw it was raining before I actually started the race. Naturally, I swapped the tyres over to Racing Intermediates, because it wasnt hard enough for the full wets. Start the race, and all is going well. Im in third by the final hairpin, and I see the two cars ahead of me dive for the pits, as well as the cars behind me in the rearview. So for some reason, and I have no idea why, I felt like following them and covering their pit stops. It wasnt until I was in the pits that I realised I already had wet weather tyres on. :banghead:

1) Buying a Zonda R for 2.6 million and receiving one as a prize soon afterwards.

2) Getting gold on Nurburgring and Monza for the Vettel X challenge with the DS3 controller, spending 2 days trying to beat gold on Suzuka to come within a grand 4 tenths, turn on Skid Recovery Force for fun, beat instantly by 3 tenths.

3) Racing in Polyphony Cup, leading points hugely by the end of 3 races and accidentally parking my car perpendicular to a wall and not finding reverse (I come from Forza 3 where you just keep changing down til you hit reverse). Did the same thing in the next race despite my previous mistake to lose the points championship. Realized I hadn't assigned a button to reverse when I set up my controls.

Paused the Suzuka 1000k at the 136 lap (approx. 4 1/2 hrs in!) mark, and unbeknown to me, as i put the controller i must of knocked the controller so that the arrow moved over to the restart icon, then when i was ready to play again, i just pressed the X button automatically !!!!
Note: Why is the Restart right next door to the Continue and also why the hell doesn't it have a secondarysub-menu saying "Are you sure you want to restart?"
I was almost down to one controller!!!!

That must have been a while ago. PD made it so it asks if you really want to restart now after you hit it first. I did that during the Miata endurance.

Also for the number of you who have accidentally restarted races, maybe developing a habit of hitting circle when you want to resume is a good idea...? Just a thought :D

I pressed the restart button while doing an endurance race: I pressed the start button to scratch my face a sec and then I pressed restart, I was in the last lap!

My dumbest moment came courtesy of everyone's favorite event, the Historic Racing Car Cup. I couldn't beat that 🤬 Chaparral 2J! Finally, on my 10th try or so, I gained the lead on the uphill straight after turn 1 of the last lap. Then, on the Nouvelle Chicane, certain that I had it in the bag, I got sloppy, floored the throttle too early, wasn't ready to catch the slide, and ended up perpendicular to the wall. Had to watch helplessly as the 2J roared past for yet another victory...

Excessive gloating

Playing 2p arcade on r246, was on pace to a sure victory when I decided to gloat at my friend by looking backward at him trying to catch up. Bam, I hit the divider between the pit and the track...game over

thats probably the LAST track i would do that on..

Buying sports hard tires for a b-spec race only to find that the regulation was comfort hard...waste of time and money

Mine was probably when I was messing around with the gears on the practice run before the race, I put it in reverse to get out of the gravel and forgot to put the gearstick back into 1st because I was using the paddles to change gear.*
So I ended up starting the race reversing into the car behind, not my best moment haha.

Needed a NASCAR for the first American Championship, so I decided to buy the coolest looking one, since they're all pretty much the same. Without thinking I went and bought the Toyota Camry Nascar (with the M&M livery) thinking it would be allowed, but I forgot Toyota was listed as Japanese (even though I'm pretty sure the Camry Nascar is actually American). So I ended up spending another 500k on a Chevy one. I didn't want to spend any money on a Nascar and yet I ended up spending 1 million.

I also made that same mistake.

To add , i bought a Lambo Countach , done it all up before i went to bed, got up next morning, forgot i bought One, and bought another to do up,then to add salt into the wounds, i won an event and won a Countach.

:dunce: 👍

Playing on the top gear track with Bob I think in the Lightweights he got lost. Believe me he got lost, I was almost a lap in front of all the cars and he got rammed in a last lap crossover so his last lap was over 3 minutes. He finnished 10th.

Exact same thing happened to me.

I started an endurance race.

That Toyota Yaris race in Beginners. I was 1st then decided to slow down and make the AI smash into the back of me infront of the line on the last lap. I failed and had to do it again. I almost cried!!

Racing my controller in a camaro SS vs me in a fiat 500. basicilly, just held the throttle down on ss.

Grinding for five nights in a row and cycling the UCD trying to score an Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo. Then finding out it's a premium car.
