Biggest "I'm an idiot" thing you've done in GT5

First pumping down the end straight-away of the full Cape Ring, spun out and crashed. CPU drove on by me, possibly laughing and pointing.

Keep 2 hands on the wheel, lesson learned.

Accidently quit the game on a b-spec race at indy 500. I was on lap 196 out of 200. 2 and a half hours of time lost, I cursed loudly.

I did that when I was in first place with my Brick On Wheels (pre tire change) in this same race I'm talking about...I definitely yelled a word that the neighbor kids shouldn't have heard.

It's too easy to restart or exit a race sometimes.

Bought and tuned a Giulgia Speciale for the European and World Historic Events in Begginer, w/o knowing I'd won the same car at the Italian Festivale in Amateur -.-

dumbest thing was this mornin was on lap 58/60 on the endurance 300km race and restarted the game.... well thats 1 less controller i own now.

I'm so glad I stopped throwing/banging my controllers...I ruined my Ascii Pad SG6 (greatest game controller ever) and quit the controller slam cold turkey. Those PS3 controllers are too expensive (plus, the walls on my rented house) for me to be chucking them!

Uninstalled the game with setups and >1m cr upgrades on my chromeline cars. Reinstalled the game and the cars, and crying the setup and upgrade reset back to default.

worst moment was in gt4... doing the 24hours of nürburgring with some friends and pressed the quit button after 13hours of driving :grumpy::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch:

in gt5 it was the idea with a friend to race the nürburgring nordschleife with gokarts with moving time >>>> no lights + night at the ring = the black hell :D

maxing out a f-150 lightning because bob kept falling back and generally sucking... even after maxed out he still sucked, until i realized that bob like to try and blow the motor up at ever corner instead of switching gears...added another 40+mph to the final drive and bob destroyed the competition...now i have a 700+hp paper weight

I put Bob in the Minolta for the Dream Car Championship. I was very surprised that I had to direct him in order to get a win at Indy. Same at Monza and it was dry but he was drifting and smoking the tires in the corners and almost lost the race. Then in Tokyo he could not get above 6th place when I noticed he had been running Hard Sport tires the whole time rather than Hard Race :(

Needless to say that after I changed the tires he had no problems with the last 2 races.

1- doing a championship in B-spec, won 4 races, and exit the championship, no prize money, i should've entered the 5th race and exited the race

2- clicked in exit race (after one hour) by mistake, and clicked yes by mistake, very very i'm an idiot moment

My wheel was a little out of calibration so I went from opposite lock to opposite lock while the game was pause, hit the accelerator. Race quits. This is when I found out clicking quit doesn't prompt with "Are you sure?" I didn't lose as much as some of you other guys though.

Took a chance with fuel in my first B-spec endurance race. I ran out on the second to last corner on the last lap and went from first to seventh!!:dunce:

That is rough. Better you than me though :sly:

I have wondered about that retire thing after the fifth race. Never was curious enough to click on it though. I always enter the race start it and then exit to get the prize money for the championship.
now I know the answer. Glad I did not do it :)

For me it was probably when I was fighting for the GT All Stars Championship in my Furai.
I needed to finish 3rd in Tokyo. Then I crashed in the first corner of the first lap. Fought my way back up somehow. I was 2nd then at some point. I even tried to attack the 1st but he spun me around in the last lap and I finished 4th loosing the championship by 2 or 3 points.

Grinding to A-Spec Lv30 for the Vettel challenge only to discover my skills are nowhere near standard to keep the X1 on the track for 2 clean laps let alone be competative :yuck:

the worst thing is that i supposed that i would not get the prize money because it says "retire from championship", i just was distracted

Thought it would be a good idea to get the "GT-R Official Record" trophy.

Went and bought a GT-R 07 and tuned it to the max....

Then read the trophy description again "The record must be achieved in time trial in the arcade mode version of the car"

Doh

Yup I did that too. Haven't even driven the car since it's not really my style :/

I don't know if this is a bad idea yet, but I wasted almost all of my credits on tuning cars for idiot bob. My F150 was already 200+ hp more powerful than the competition yet he couldn't get past 4th.

In a B-Spec race I got bored and decided to play with my shifter and pedals. Pretend shifting down I decided to heel and toe. Toe hit the brake, heel hit the gas and just like that, I had quit the race. FAIL

Another fail, I spent twenty minutes trying to change the tires on my car before I entered a race to find out you had to enter the race in order to change the different sets of tires.

all im gonna say is.. when you press the retry or quit button they should have a " are you sure" warning!!

I was lap 84 of 90 on Laguna seca and restarted the race :L its ok tho the FGT made it a little bit easier to restart haha.. oh and when you have won a championship but have a race left.. start the last race then quit! i found that out the hard way haha :(

Deleting the game data instead of deleting the save data. This was after transferring cars from one account to another to get them in ticket form, decided I didn't need that data because I was done with the transfers but stupidly deleted the game data instead; lost all my tracks made in Course Maker, all of my photos from photo mode, and my upgrades on my chromeline cars. Still kicking myself for making such a silly error.

I accidentally bought a car i didn't need. I was low on cash and needed it to upgrade a car for an event. I decided to look around the used Dealership, i accidentally clicked on purchase, and then when the prompt came up, I accidentally clicked on purchase. Two mistakes in a row...
