Sent most of you guys an FR so I can have some friendly competition on the leaderboards, I may of missed a couple of you, if so feel free to add me if you want to.

I am fairly new to running the seasonals and only had GT6 a couple of months so it would be great to have some guys to compete against

Managed to get into the 127's tonight with the little bit of seat time I had, now down to a 127.956 and can see more time but am going to wait until tomorrow until I have tightened up the loose bolts in my wheel, I did find it distracting like that tonight and shouldn't of really played with it like that. I managed to hand tighten them for the hour I spent though.

Thanks again to ET_ for the tune, much appreciated

Sorry wasn't meant to sound like that :)

Certainly looks like I will be giving it a go when I finish work tonight as Roweer has already posted a great result using this setup. I am hoping I will be able to get into the mid 27s at least with it, I am currently at a 128.1 with the old setup. The update may have effected the tune you posted, hopefully not as I am sure I will beat my time with it.

Don't think it has affected anything: I just did a couple of laps -and though i didn't beat my time, i was up by 5/100 at T1 and kept up the pace till i blew it...

If you are already using Cargo's tune, i don't think you should expect to improve as much as i have -as it would seem this is greatly affected by it.

Added!👍

-956 aye? Well that's right up my tail! Bet you have an old Wheel, bet those bolts are at their breaking point? careful with the tightening...

128.098 just now. Was a 1/10 behind my ghost coming into the final chicane & also lost at least a 1/10 in sector 1 so I figure 127.8xx is realistic as long as I nail the chicane.

Was wondering who that was. Well be good to have another fast guy to chase down :) my tuning is much better than my driving
*needs to remember to proof read when using his phone*

Well losing a tenth, tends to put you a tenth behind...

Yes my ability to state the blindingly obvious is without equal :D

My best first sector is a 23.299 & I was 23.5xx for that lap so a tenth is a tad conservative I guess!

Sending this from my mobile phone again, lightning took out my modem earlier and my PS3 as well. Looks like l won't be playing for a little while. And l was so close to sneaking in front of Cargo too. Well l was improving anyway. Good luck everyone, catch you when l can, cheers.

Sorry to hear that! Next time use a surge-lightning filtered plug thing for your electronics. They also make them with telephone line protection, probably that's where that spike passed through (If your PS3 was hard networked, and other electric or electronics didn't blow). Usually good quality filtered power strips have them.

As for Mitch you can say he was saved by the Gods!!!

No good man. Hope you get a new PS3 soon the modern is the easy part in this mix. Proly going to want to replace the network cable a well

Yea...ok. I don't think I need any help of the kind, thank you. Its going to take more than divine intervention. :mischievous: The only way he is going to beat me is if he hires an alien to drive for him. :mischievous:

Just some banter/motivation for you @Dalone. ;) Hope you get things up and running soon @Dalone, going to miss giving you that "ass whipping" every week.:lol::lol:

Looks like you may need a new power supply box for your PS3. Same thing happened to mine when we had a power outage so i just ordered a replacement one off ebay for about 12 quid and it worked a charm.

I myself have all my electronics plugged into either a surge protected power strip which is then plugged into a surge protected outlet. I take no risk as I've had friends lose thousands of dollars of equipment due to power surges. I have too much invested in what I have to take the chance in having it all destroyed.

Surge protectors are a good idea the best option if you can afford it is a power conditioner. It smooths out the power so you get cleaner device operation and it's large enough that even a lightning strike wont get past it. Surge protectors will stop power surges but not lightning strikes they don't have he size to handle the power spike of a strike. Main down side to a power conditioner is the cost they start at $300 USD for the ones worth buying. Just a note phone line and coax line surge may be protected while running them through a sure protector or power conditioner will protect them they may interfere with the internet connection as they are proly not gated for the frequency's in use for internet.

Think I have had enough of this one, really struggled with the last couple of turns :banghead: I can see as I reach the last corner that I am on for around a 127.7 as I am ahead of most people on my friends list, I dont seem to be getting much luck with the last corner though. I struggle to find a line that isn't going to unsettle the car under braking. :ouch:

Not sure what it's like for you guys using the DS3 but going into that corner the wheel goes all light when going over those high curbs and it makes it difficult to understand what the car is doing, the same can be said for the last corner in T2, I just get sucked in towards the barrier as the car unsettles again.....🤬.......

It's amazing how much time is lost on ET_ He seems to pull away more and more as I get to the last 2 corners of T2. Wish I knew the secret :sly:

Good luck to the rest of you guys still running it.... don't go burning yourselves out on this TT, there will be plenty more, starting with the new one with no SRF :D

@Special 1 in the last chicane's the controller just vibrates and the car fails to respond to control input for a moment or two. than it all comes back into place and car either slides out or holds its line and takes off assuming we clip a curb. the hardest part with this last last chicane is the entry, get that wrong and whole turn set is toast. get that right it's just a matter of hanging on for the air time. there was person on friends list that I was up to half second behind the entire track and I nailed the last turn and past him up by .3 seconds. so that last turn set is good for a ton of time.

And um if your ever behind me on a TT that's cause you haven't ran it yet :P

Sounds just as difficult on the pad then, it is actually braking for the turn that is causing me the most problems.

To give you an idea of how bad I am at the last turn, I am a car length, sometimes a bit more ahead of Roweer and a couple of others on here and end up losing all of it and crossing the line behind them. :banghead:

Yeah that last chicane is a killer. I thought I'd caught you last night. Was a good car length behind going in and couldn't see your line at all when I crossed the finish, but still 0.063 in arrears alas. Will have one more crack today.

That last chicane is the make or break on this TT, tune the car for the rest of the track, tube your LSD for that chicane based on how you take it so you can come out full throttle. By chance the lsd setting will also help the round about corner.

:idea:Time to reverse engineer one of the tunes from the top ten...

I guess best way to handle that chicane: It depends on your gear ratios of course, maybe its a good idea to set them up for this chicane...
Anyway i have found, braking early in fourth while approaching the chicane entry in a straight line aiming between the right entry curb and the left inner curb, then shifting in third before entering and coasting with as little trail braking as possible, shift to second to help rotate over the inner left curb, and once positioned to clear the right exit curb, accelerate in second gear to exit. Make 2nd gear long enough to take you out of this chicane, but short enough to help turn in the first hairpin. if you get it right, then it will fit almost perfectly for the first and second roundabouts.
That's where a low final gear can do miracles...

I'm thinking a hybrid sprint transmission for this track, just getting the suspension right to handle the chicanes and the round about.
A ts hybrid did very well for me in the FITT challenge but there is more in this transmission than what I got it off it in the FITT challenge

Try @GTP_CargoRatt 's transmission. and see what i mean. Now see if you can lower the final even more. Try 2600 doing the appropriate changes to the individual gears. This engine with its almost unreal torque curve, can handle even lower finals easy, provided it has the right Torque parts installed.

Minor fist pump moment with a 127.811 :D Lost a little bit of time in the chicane so 127.7xx is possible but that's me done for this one. Currently #31 which will be my best TT finish and also #1 Aussie (atm) which is a bit surprising.

Good time! may i ask what tune you're using?

I am using a modded "et" tune with his transmission settings. I also restored body rigidity but didn't make any difference as far as I could tell.

My setup:
90/85
5.10/7.10
4/6
4/6
5/5
0/0
0.10/-0.25
BB 5/4
LSD 6/40/6

Cheers
Leigh

Thanks Leigh! I was about to try @et_ 's tune today, I'll certainly try your mod too:tup:
