As far as I know the start is in the next week, but needs to be confirmend by cjs959.

What I just posted was an idea of the races lenght, not mandatory, cjs959 is the series creator, he has the last word.

Ya i haven't announced an "official" start date, with that being said i believe trying to start this week wouldn't be fair. I would like to run practice races on both wednesday and thursday this week. The series will start next week, haven't finalized which day but either wednesday or thursday. I will open up a new poll to find out which day works best for everyone. Regardless of which day we run the time will be 2:30 gmt.
Your suggestions for laps was helpful and about an hour long race is what im looking for. Check the link on the OP, I'll make a new poll for what day to run the series.

Why dont we run Daytona Road Course this week as a practice round? By the way, I hope you're planning on thursdays, I dont recall anyone who couldnt do thursdays, but I for sure couldnt do wednesdays.

Also GMT is fncking complicated as hell. Acording to this website, http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/gmt-8/, living in california means I am GMT -8. However GMT doesnt acount for daylight savings time, which just happened, meaning that even though it is 830 right now, GMT -8 is 730... but it isnt, its 830 to everyone in Pacific Standard Time. So this raises the question, if the race is 230 GMT, and the west coast is GMT -8, are we racing at 630pm, or 530pm? The later the better is my vote.

I never used GMT before this thread. Before daylight savings my time zone was MST (mountain standard time). After daylight savings my time zone became MDT (mountain daylight savings time, I assume). A quick google search shows that the time zone in L.A. is currently PDT, or GMT -7 hours.

As for practice, I'll be there Thursday. If it doesn't make much difference to everyone please can we do any real world track except daytona road course? Not trying to be a jerk, but it's the one real world track I don't know very well. :indiff:

Yep, the GMT thing can be confusing around Daylight Saving Time switch. So basically I'm in Pacific time which was GMT-8:00, but is now GMT-7:00 since the switch to PDT. Probably just best to refer here to figure it out for wherever you live 👍
Thursday will work for me too, and Daytona Road is fine. Now would be a good time to learn the track before the actual series starts! :gtpflag:

That's the point of practicing, is it not? ;)

I'll be there on Thursday, I believe it's 7:30 for Pacific time?

I suppose so haha :dopey:. I just don't want to be all over the track like an idiot. Since this is my first time practicing with the group I want to see how my car setup and driving compare to the rest of the field. I'll just have to practice the track for bit before on my own.

Hey everyone
I too wasn't thinking about dayight savings time and how it isn't noted with greenwich time. To clear things up Im looking to run our series at 8:30pm CDT. So for those of you on the west coast that'll be 6:30pm, mountain 7:30pm, ext... I guess that gmt times of the race will now be at 1:30 GMT.
I too am a little new with using gmt, sorry for any confusion.
For practice races i will open a lobby tonight sometime around 8:00pm (cdt). We can run to or three practice races, about 10 laps per race. Same thing with tomorrow. Sorry I couldn't join you guys last night, wednesday and thursday are the only free days I have during the week.
If no one is opposed to running on thursday, thursday would be just fine.
I will post the room number ths evening when I get it going.
Thanks everyone, getting excited to get this started.

ya sorry guys, shoulda posted that the room was closed, i ran around nurburg by myself for about 45 minutes and then just called it quits. I'll try opening the room up again tomorrow night.

Anyone want to have a practice run right now? I'll open a room if anyone does. 👍

Edit: Room's up, number is 1472-6118-3701-4257-9291, name is GTP M League.

Any word on the season schedule / track order?

CJS, what do you think of allowing each driver one car change per season? Just a thought.

Practice Monday night?

Sorry, I didn't make it on! Did you see M cars with aero parts? There were many cars not part of our league there that night. Perhaps it would be a good idea to summarzie the final rules and restrictions in the thread's original post?

This thread has been dead for the last few days. Are we still on for this Thursday?
