No idea what this means but basically i cant search for a specific room!

You need to add your PS3's IP address to your router's DMZ. This will change your NAT type to Type 2.

HAHAHA No idea of what your talking about, sorry not very technically savvy with computers, internet and what not. How do I do this

sorry guys, i can't join that room. I'll get this figured out very soon though...Until then if you all wouldn't mind joinging the room I opened I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Well that was't very productive, Thanks to Talon who was the only one who showed up to my lobby. Sorry i couldn't join your lobby Graham, If I could have I would have... I have opened up a poll for this PP restriction topic. Please vote on it so I have a better idea of everyones opinion on the matter.

Thanks

A poll, great idea CJS 👍 Always forget that option is there...
It's a whole lot more efficient than pages and pages of differing opinions.

You only need to remember 2 things:

  1. It's your series idea, so it's ultimately your decision on how you want to run it. 👍
  2. Not everyone is going to be 100% happy about the decision

Not trying to make everyone happy, just the majority. HAHA

BMW M series proposed points and rules

There will be a total of 84 points available per race. (based on twelve entries)

1st 15pts
2nd 14pts
3rd 13pts
4th 11pts
5th 9pts
6th 7pts
7th 5pts
8th 4pts
9th 3pts
10th 2pts

Proposed series rules

1) Must use same car for all races
2) Must be at/under PP (or other restrictions) limit
3) Must adhere to tire restrictions
4) CLEAN driving as defined by GTP OLR Rules & Guidelines

These are the basics, there may be more rules as we get the structure of this series dialed in.

Lobby Settings
1) Heavy Damage
2) No penalties (penalties will be enforced threw points reduction/DQ)
3) Real grip reduction
4) Only driving aides allowed are TCS and ABS

If you have anything to add or change let me know

Put me on that list, I'll be there for sure. I'll certainly be driving an E46, Not sure which of the 3 though.

And what a surprise, 1 vote for multiple PP ratings. I wonder who that is. :P

And I'm the only one that voted for combined!!!

Graham, is your PSN GrahamTurismo??? Or is it something else.
Let me know your PSN and I'll ad ya to the list.
Of course it is; I would have specified if it were something else. ;)

Also, add me on PSN... I think I'll start a room again for a bit and see if you can join.

💡 Is there a way to have flags in these online races??? Kinda a NOOB question but it would be nice if we could have the caution come out when everyone gets collected in turn 1!!! And if thats not possible, how about having one mandatory "caution" during the race. Essentially at some random point during the race an artificial caution would come out, we would have to do one pace lap with everyone staying in position. The leader would set a pace (anything under 80MPH) and would pretty much be the pace car.

Good idea or bad idea???

Forget it... Bimmerboy can't get there and nobody else is going to bother. I need to practice with my IS-F RM anyway.

I've finished a bit of testing tonight, might get more into it tomorrow, but for now this is how I see it:

Indy Road Course

M3 CSL 03 1:33.585
468HP/8800rpm-1385kg-PP529
M3 Coupe 07 1:34.428
520HP/9100rpm-1408kg-PP534
Z4 M Coupe 08 1:36.024
443HP/8500rpm-1375kg-PP512

All cars w/ Racing Tranny, All drivetrain upgrades, Full Adjust Susupension(not tuned), Racing Hard Tires

The CSL handled the best, wereas the Z4M wasnt too far off, and the E92(v8) handled the worst by a significant margin(but not dramatic). The problem here is the Z4 is maxed on power even if it is the lightest, but still is now were near the other two cars. Even more interesting is the lap in the Z4 I had some perfect corners that I couldnt match time on; so a theoretical best lap for me couldnt be too far off in that car and I feel I had possibly my best lap in it.

Overall each car's top lap are all consistant within I'd say a .5 second, meaning the consistancy of the testing is roughly close to a quarter second give or take from any lap. If the ingame analysis could take top sector times a show a theoretical fastest lap this testing could be have been more accurate, but not significantly different I'm sure. The times arent close at all to consider having the 3 cars be competitive with equal PP. I mean theres like a PP20 difference, thats not gunna bring the Z4M up 2 or 3 seconds. Tuning could change things, but I only see it as making things between the CSL and M3 E92 competitive as they are with these specs, and the Z4M needs more power(by decreasing the power of the 3 series') resulting in a high PP.

Guys, did any of you read this? I feel sorry for the only other guy trying to talk on behalf of an adjusted PP system per each car. Honestly how can you sit there and say the PP system will work when the only people who test and have first hand experience how all these 500PPish M cars will compare to each other prove how one car will not be competitive. Granted, the M3 07 and CSL are close, possibly close enough as someone pointed out it just may be that the track I was using suited the CSL better, but the Z4M isnt even on the same level.

Honestly I'm not gunna sit here and cry and hault production of this possible league. You guys wanna run even PP fine. I'll be using the CSL, obviously since its easily the fastest car; and I feel sorry for those whod like to use the Z4M, cause you're going to be miserable getting lapped 40 mins into the race by everyone NOT in the Z4. Not to mention how thats going to hurt the longevity of this league when the Z4 drivers start to drop out. All I can do now is be the guy to say i told you so.

One solution comes to mind however, if we use some sort of weight/balast penalties for winning drivers(i.e. SuperGT format). That way the Z4Ms might have a chance at the end of the season.

And again, tires must be Racing Hards. It doesnt matter if these are street cars, every car in SuperGT, LeMans, etc are street cars so how is that a valid arguement? Not to mention 500PP mean we will be modding these cars a bit, and the HP ratings will be 450-500, you need grip to handle that power. Dont worry about making this so much about skill and car control, you're just making it way too difficult for everyone to come out of that first corner.

Im game! How about mapping the timezones so that it fits somehow. Im from Sweden, the latest I can do is to start at 01.00 friday-saturday, my local time which is +1.

Not to keen on this idea. Sounds too much like a NASCAR's competition cautions.
