Body-Kits in GT4

Bodykit add-ons are just that, a silly looking wing, or ground effect "skirts" that have been simply attached to a car. They are NOT designed for performance, just ease of attachment and "improved" looks. If the bodykits have a strong benefit to a car's performance, and most do by a small margin, it's something that happened by accident. A lot of trial and error is needed to attach a "wing" to a car. You can't just slap one on, and expect to drive it like a race car. These attachmnents create a lot of drag, so a very powerful engine is needed to get the vehicle up to a fast enough speed to make these attachments useful.
Thank You!! Finally someone who understands the difference between a stupid kit, and racing mods. And this is why I want Racing Mods only in the game, no add-on kits.

Racing Mod = Very Useful
Add-on kit = Very Useless

IMO it's as simple as this:

Racing Mods: YES
Add-on Kits: SOME

Yes, some add-on kits : C-West, TRD; MazdaSpeed; RallyArt; Mugen Honda; Spoon. No F&F stuff NO NEONS nothing like that. Only engineered parts that can really make the difference performance-wise. And the ones I mentioned really do. Those are parts created to enhance the performance of a car, not just the looks.

Kits are entirely reasonable.

'Racing mods' is a reasonably obscure term. As people have said, some kits are reasonable because they do offer performance gains.

Personally, while the ability to customise the look of a vehicle to a certain extent (particularly if it improves performance) appeals, I'm most interested in aerodynamic aids like rear wings and front bars offering extended lips, both of which are likely to affect car's handling particularly under braking and through corners (seeing as reports of GT4's driving model is that there is more realistic movement of the car under braking).

Certainly, universal rear GT wings from makers such as C-West offer aero aid. Certain kits from other companies like Veilside offer questionable performance enhancement - but if anyone's seen Veilsdie's kit for a BNR34 (as used on their 1300bhp top speed trial car) they'll realise on tracks such as Test Course there are gains to be had from ground-effects and aero kits.

NO, NO, NO, nitrouse is not allowed in motorsport whith the exeption of some drag racing classes, including NOS in GT4 would kill realism of it.

how would nos destroy gt4?nos is real so it would not take away from the realsm of the gt series becouse nos is real and most streat racers any where in world have nos so there.anjd also who wouldn't want to over take a 787b in a pretty much standard syline GTR!so screw you if you are to afraid to you's nos and if it is in the game just don't by it if you hate it that much!

there is nothing wrong with bodykits, if there is then tell that to
all the top tuners in Japan some of there kits are for peformance
and some are for looks. And I guess D1GP is for ricers, because
not all of those peices are needed on there cars.It would be
"tight" to have kits so I could tell myself from the next guy.

I love the spelling on this one. You can really get your point through when you say things like that. "streat racers" is a good example of poor spelling and also that you have no clue as to what GT is. Please go watch your 2 Fast 2 Furious DVD and the like, wait for Need For Speed Underground, and please stay away from us in GT4!!!

I guess some people don't know the difference between serious racing (closed circuit/safety rules) and stupid racing(street racing/public danger). No offense but I find streetracing pretty stupid. Drag races? Yeah maybe but drag strips only.

Oh and NOS would destroy GT4 spirit of course since NOS is street racing stuff and doesn't belong in a circuit.

Oh maybe some neons to cope with those NOS shots huh? :dopey:

:banghead:

Like I said NOS is NOT allowed in motorsport whith the exeption of a few drag racing events and it WOULD ruin GT4 if it was in, just cos NOS exists does'nt mean it would be right to include it in a GT game, so screw you if you like NOS so much and go and play NFS Underground instead. And learn to spell as well.

I think most people are okay with kits as long as they are performance enhancing kits.

Alot of the top tuners in Japan put their kits in the wind tunnel for the best aerodynamics. Improved aero dynamics IS a performance mod, and it should be in GT4.

I think alot of people are just ignorant about what a ricer really is. A ricer is a poser, plain and simple. Having body kits in the game doesn't make it a ricer game. A ricer will just buy whatever is cool and what everyone else has just for the hell of it without any consideration and what real purpose it has.

Just because a body kit may also look good doesn't mean it's worthless. Most of the body kits I see come out of Japan from the better tuners look good and actually have a purpose. So before you say NO to body mods use your ****ing head and realize the fastest cars in the world don't use factory aero parts. If you think it'll ruin the game you're a moron.

Exactly, they are raced modified. There is a difference between that and body kits. Most, if not all, body kits do not increase performance or improve aerodynamics. You know, as well as I, know body kits are for visuals only. Body kits have no place in GT4.

You need to stop looking at the cheap knock offs and open your eyes. I'm talking the high quality, exspensive aero kits from Japans top companies. They wind tunnel test all their products to ensure good aerodynamics. C-West is the most popular of the bunch. I'm pretty sure +Ings does as well. Both C-West and Ings are very commonly found one race only vehicles. I wonder why?

Body kits DO belong in GT4, your ignorance does not.

You only want bodykits.

So you can soupe up your future Civic. With those 23th spoilers. Cardboard skirts, pimpin ride y0!!

Your face doesn't either.

No, I want body kits to help increase downforce and reduce drag. But you tiny little mind can't comprehend that air also effects your cars performance so you just think body kits are for ricers. Grow up and open your eyes.

I just put some water on my eyes, they seem open. All I see is a blury gay post.
