I'll give the 330i a go please.

I'll put you down - welcome :)

What Le sarthe track you doing?

Chicanes I take it!

2009 with chicanes đź‘Ť

The rwds are better cars than the fwds , better on tires means better stints .

I just stick with ff because they are a lot easier to overtake with , on the straights ofcourse
Only reason I switched to Alfa is because of the sheer lack of straight line speed in the 330i. Its cornering advantage isn't enough to give it a significant advantage on the likes of Laguna and Rome.

Yup, the Beemer in the right hands is very quick in some places, the rest just has to be damage limitation :/

I like a challenge đź‘Ť

Thank you.

I see eBay motors has already been done so would quite like to enter a Team RAC BMW with orange body and silver wheels. Team mate can run black wheels if I get someone stupid enough to also run the 330i.

Only thing about a night race is that those with standard cars are at a severe disadvantage with regards the headlight beams. The premium headlights provide much more effective illumination.

Oh didn't think about that.

Teams don't have to run the same car, but they do need the same body colour. đź‘Ť

That is a bit of an issue, I hope the Standard drivers (like me) can adapt :dopey: Maybe we'll need to do some testing to see how it is.

I've run plenty of standards in the night before. I don't think it's something to be hugely concerned about.

Yeh its manageable , plus it will be a draft fest there will be lots of surrounding lights

Ok. I won't hold my breath for a team mate.

In my experience the std headlights give off a similar illumination to the premium cars dipped beam. I guess we are all free to adjust our TVs but that kind of defeats the point of a night race.

Just reading the op again , that leading a lap point system is interesting .

Yup. You only get the point if you cross the start/finish line in the lead (whether in the pits or not). I won't be counting all the overtakes.

Will there be any sort of pre-season race or test sessions?

There'll be a pre-season test night on Thursday 16th.

Also, I'm sure there'll be spontaneous test sessions in the next couple of weeks. :)

That 330i certainly is going to be a challenge. If it's able to corner at full speed it's fine, but as soon as it's limited to running the FF cornering speed it loses places hand over fist. Places which are almost impossible to get back for any length of time.

Fun racing you all though.

I'm new to competitive online racing, even though I've been playing GT5 since the beginning. Anyhow, I'd love to participate as a reserve, preferably in a Honda Integra Type-R (DC5) though I'd drive any FF car, for whichever team takes me. I already know I won't be available for the Monza and Fuji races, respectively due to exams and absence.

"2 wheels on track at all times. No exceptions!" - Does this mean inside the white lines? Or do the rumble strips count as track?

Sure, I'll put you down. Still one full-time spot left. Honda now full...

Sure have, still undecided with 3

...or maybe Honda won't be full for very long :sly: 1 VW left, 3 BMW, 4 Hyundai, 4 Nissan.

White lines. Try to keep only 2 wheels on the kerbs, although I'll only penalise deliberate advantage. We all make driving errors and get our line wrong at times.

I'll go for that last VW.
