Great testing session tonight folks - lots learned I hope!

Congrats to powwa25 for a debut win (even if it doesn't count in the official statistics!) and to neljack for a very promising debut. Excellent pile up in Race 2, much fun! I sense there will be a lot of spins this season.

I will double check those PP handicap figures and confirm them tomorrow probably.

Slipstream will be switched back to Weak from Real for the next test - I really don't think it was strong enough on Real.

Were there any pit or tyre glitches for anybody?

That qualifier was a bit random wasn't it?!

Next official test planned for January 2nd, but feel free to organise spontaneous ones in the mean time. 👍

Didnt really feel the effects of the tire bug because of the weight loss from fuel consumption .

It was still there but not that obvious , id say about 1 second diff in lap time.

I didn't really notice the tyre glitch.

Overall it was a good night, the car is proving to be tricky in comparison to the Integra of last season. It's easy enough to drive but make an error and it will quickly spin.

The PP handicap worked fore me. On race 3 I had the 508pp which was okay to deal with. I could see the difference on the longer straights, in the twistys I could catch back up again and I stood a chance of challenging the 518pp cars. So all in all I was impressed. However, Fuji may prove to be a different scenario altogether.

Well done to the newcomers. :)

The qualifier was a little strange to begin with, but I actually quite liked it. Just make sure that we spread out a little to avoid any collissions and all should be good.

Yeah a good night all round, 3 different winners which was good.

Tricky car to get used to, have to keep reminding myself it's a MR and not a FF, pretty sure my pace will improve once I get back into the swing of things but I'll be happy once I'm more consistent with the car and more used to the new physics.

Liking the look of the new lobby although will take awhile to get used to everything and find out what does what, just hope the community feature makes it easier to sort out different PP levels as that does seem time consuming.

Edit. Great pics!, really liking pleasedie and canyons colour scheme!

By the way True_Blue_8. Yes you were shoved off by powwa but the incident on the next lap in race 3 that really sent you off was due to one of the weirdest lag incidents I've ever seen

For Race 2 qualifying, there's also the option to "Race Alone". Maybe that could be better rather than having all of us appear on track simultaneously for the session?

That means You will race alone in track. :)

In race 1 and race 3 i did get to choose tires and fuel. But in race 2 didnt.

And sorry to all, if I pushed you in some corners. :) But it was great race. I did not change oil, so in race 3 I had power limiter 100% and when race was over, PP was 511. Looking for next race. ;)

Just a small heads-up from me:

I'll stay in the series, but I currently face disc read errors for dual layer discs on my ps3 and am still undecided how to resolve the issue. I wonder if I should try the repair myself or just go for a new unit. If only the PS4 were backwards compatible...

Thanks preisty Ian chose the colour so he takes the credit but yeah it does look good shame I can't drive it yet...Lol the first 4 laps of race 3 I was doing well then I threw it all away again...I really need to practice more...

Yeah true seemed to be having a bad race and then that incident with Ian just topped it off for him I think...I feel for him because I only once finished above last place so I hope he comes back...as for tire glitch no I didn't have any issues...

hey guys, apologies for my rage quit last night lool, but i was really annoyed.
i know im not very good and even though i use a pad, i still try to race as fair as i can. however people would leave me no room and then brake too late into the corners when so far back. they would use me as their brakes and thats the only reason they could make the corner. Therefore i had no choice but to run wide to avoid a collision. if you want a visual, think of Sergio Perez lol.
Testing was looking good for me, i could hi 1.25.8's consistent, but i would get held up. i know thats racing but i couldn't make a move as i would get taken off or left no room. i'd try my best to overtake fairly, but people fly into you to overtake.
Anyway, on a positive note, well done to the winners and new-comers. And a great 2nd race pile up loool. Although i did almost crash into my teammate a few times when he spun in front of me. lool ;)

True mate don't sell yourself short mate your a good driver and your fast ...everyone has a bad race from time to time and as for the lunges yeah I agree there were a fair few desperate moves made last night ...I got spun out twice from being hit from behind mid corner which cost me badly and put me off trying to push hard just to catch up...so unless you guys see a CLEAR gap PLEASE don't create one by shoving your car up the inside or by trying to out brake someone without leaving enough room for BOTH cars on the corners.
As it was a testing session and a new car I can't really have a go at anyone but I do hope things calm down before the racing gets real in January ...that said I wish everyone here a merry Christmas and a happy New year

I would agree this car requires cleaner driving because any slight tap can throw you into a spin .

Its not a easy car to drive but when you hook it up right the lap times show .

I could manage 1 24s on the first set of tires but 2nd set best was like a 26 0 , thats why i believe the tire glitch still exists .

Hard to be certain for sure because i wasnt pushing as hard in the race

Also i like having all cars on track for qualy , it adds a lottery effect because some will lose time waiting for gaps or traffic to clear etc

I just think more respect and patience need to be shown on track but its a new car and probably hardest car to drive ever in a btcc series so the learning curve is steep

The megane feels like a proper little race car..as it should, and a great car to drive..and i agree about the dive bombs and lunges, its something that proper got on my wick last season..some people seem to think its ok to shoot up the inside in a braking zone if they get past clean..and only getting past clean because the car getting passed has been forced off their line and forced to leave room..THIS IS NOT RACING!...racing is about assessing your situation, planning a pass and executing the manuouvre.I'm sure most feel the same and it has to be known through the whole grid that this type of passing should not be tolerated. rant over! :P

I just tried the solo equally and its cool because it's just you vs the track...no slipstreaming from someone in front of you but it could also make corner cutting an issue...

I would prefer the full grid qualy , ive noticed in the solo run you still see the brake lights of the other cars

Its not hard to split up on track , i think people are just going for the draft

I also prefer the real draft to weak

Hi there I would like to join as a reserve I don't think I can race every single weekend but I'm sure I can be there for most. I'll send a FR when I get on today.

Sure I tap canyon in to a spin in race one, real hard to say if I did or not.
Race two there I was slowest time of all :)

Then omg cars going all over the place and I was 3rd.
Think I got in to second in till caught and pushed of track :(

GT6 seems so easy to over do a bend or to give it to much gas out of the bend.
Last turn seemed my worse bend for getting it lose down the staight :/

Also game did seem to hold up when players in pits and me over taking them.
Good night it was always good racing with you lot.

The car responds best with gentle inputs, especially when exiting the corners.

I was pleased with my results, I wasn't expecting much after I had a few spins in practice, but during the races I didn't spin at all. I had a few tail happy moments that made me worry, but I managed to hold onto it. It's a good car with a bad attitude. :)

I practice better than I race, giving alot of the time we race I've just got out of BED!

But it seems the later part of the race is where I get most problems.
I'm guessing thats the lighter fuel load on the car and me not practicing alot with lighter fuel load.

Give me some more time I'll think up more excuses lol

Next week is Boxing Day so I don't think we'll be racing.

2nd January will most likely be Fuji GT, since that's where the hp penalty tends to be very strong (and draft plays a role too). I can do at least one race there with Slipstream still set to 'Real' then move it back to 'Weak' for comparison.

That sounds fair enough. Fuji is a great test track where the difference in the slipstream options should become much more obvious.

I could probably get online on Boxing day, but I'd prefer not to do Boxing day given the choice. Too much going on for me over Christmas this year plus I want to chill out. :)

I can't believe how quickly Christmas has arrived, I'm nowhere near ready for it yet, I've still got presents to buy, cards to deliver and I'm still busy with work. God I wish that I was employed so that I could have a proper Christmas holiday.

Hey guys, real sorry I missed the test race, apologies to my teammate. I've been out of town without reliable internet access. Should be back on in a few days at the most. Looks like it was fun, glad to see everyone working out the kinks. Personally this is one of my favorite cars to drive but I guess I'll see when I actually get to race you guys.
