Bugatti thread.

But with me behind the wheel, they wear down faster :dopey:

I'm pretty sure spinning out a car at each turn will wear any car tires out :sly:

But seriously, I just Recently strolled pass this beautiful piece of work.
EB110 LM race car.

Wow the veyron is quicker than i thought, look at these vids.
Anyone wanna hazard a guess what the PP of this thing will be?

Edit: why do vids take so long to come up after posting?

Indeed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEL5ABddZ0k&feature=related is the URL of the video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEL5ABddZ0k is the direct URL of the video.
VEL5ABddZ0k is the video identifier which goes between Youtube tags.

If i remember correctly the EB110 was the first (production)car
to do the 0-1000m in sub 20sec. so yes this has to be in the game.

Just put the video identifier - not the whole URL - between Youtube tags!

As we talk about Bugatti and Lamborghini being the first time in GT, I have something for you. :sly:
On one German ps2 disc of the official ps2 magazine (OPM2-ops2demo-10), there was a 30 mins feature on the "fresh" GT3 and on two occasions, where Yamauchi would talk about the models of the game, you could clearly identify the fully modeled, but not texturized model of the Lamborghini Diablo (1990) and one lattice model of the Bugatti EB110. I wonder what happened to them...

Apparently Lamborghini's licensing fell through shortly before GT3's release, I don't know about Bugatti though.

I'd like to see if I can take on the Veyron with a Cerbera Speed 12, though highly unlikely because the Speed 12 acts like its on ice no matter how you drive it. I always have to start off with it in fourth gear and it stills starts off spinning. Great car.

I don't think the Speed 12 quite posseses the Veyron's brutal acceleartive abilities though it's not far off. I doubt most could out accelerate a Veyron in it simply due to it's traction in lower gears being difficult to work with, but in theory it should be a quicker car on a track. Would be interesting. I love driving the Speed 12 in the GT games and I enjoy mastering it as best as I can.

Speed 12 has less power, and has butter for tyres. How could it compare in any way at all, except maybe, just maybe around the corners because it's about half the weight.

It's not got much less power if it has less at all 960+bhp is the closest rating it's had compared to 1001bhp for the Bugatti. That said the Veyron is said to be understated too. It has to be in general especially considering the engines are hand built, no two engines are identical and when you get thoes kind of power figures you can be looking at a difference of maybe 50-60bhp per engine, but I think it needs at least 1001hp to go as fast as VAG wanted it to. Back to the Speed 12, it's nearly as powerful and it's got a hell of a lot less weight. It'll never win in a drag race but I think on a track a skilled could take it in the Speed 12. Not that I'm biased in anyway towards TVR's. But I genuinely think that the Speed 12 should be a faster track car. Unless it breaks down half a lap in ;).

That's some rare stuff 👍

Great find!

I'm really looking forward to the Veryon bing in GT5. I can't wait to race it against Enzo's and LP640's, it will truely be epic. However, I get the odd feeling its going to drive like an SL65 in GT4... i.e. really heavy, slow in, fast out... unlike something like an Enzo, which I can picture swinging into a corner like an Elise on speed! Obviously PD will emulate them as best thy can, a 2 tonne car is always going to be slower in the corners than a car weighing half as much...

man, the eb110 is so good. I'm guessing we will get it.

I'm sure I remember hearing that Schumacher had the SS, and he took it back to Bugatti and told them it wasn't safe, haha.

It has to be in general especially considering the engines are hand built, no two engines are identical

I don't know where this myth came from (actually I do, top gear) but engines are hand built (assembled) for very high tolerance, the engines are actually much more likely to be identical after being hand built rather than the lower tolerance grading system they use for mass produced engines.

Yes with the Veyrons high power it is much easier for larger power variations (still a small percentage but bigger numbers) but turbocharged engines are usually easier to keep to a standard as power output is highly dependant on boost and ecu tune, assuming boost is being being regulated well. This is even more so on hand built engines.

For the hell of it, a Veyron racing a car known for it's great straight line speed
