oh yeah hahaaha

also with the Eau Rouge and Pouhon corners, why dont we do same rule as bus stop? half car or 2 wheels on atleast through there? (2 wheels behind the actual ripple strips,

I'd say the critical corners are turns 4 (middle of Eau Rouge) and 19 (last part of chicane before Finish Straight. These are corners where 'cheating' and straight lining them can gain a real unfair advantage. If practice using 'Offline Practice' you see that as Pasin mentions, you must keep at least 2 wheels on the tarmac or kerb (kerb is part of the track), and if you take more then the laptime goes red and is not counted as a savable ghost lap. The same should apply during our race.

For lapping, like has been said before, you will know if you are being lapped or fighting for position, so just be respectful and don't hold the faster guy up. If you are going to slow to let him past, blend out of the throttle gently if he is close to avoid an accidental rear ender.

Looking forward to it and looking at the online forecast for race time in Spa (Sat Night/ Sunday morning) it looks like my gamble on an AWD car now might to pay dividends over the lightening fast Artas and RX7's :)

I have no intention of making it easy on them :sly:. Besides, the rain looks like it might be light by race time 1AM Sunday Local Spa Time.

We shall see.

So, we can go as wide as we want at Pouhon then? It does not give a penalty if you do so.

To me, Eau Rouge and the Bus Stop Chicane are obvious violations if you cut them; but Pouhon people go wide there all the time, so that was why i asked for a ruling.

I'm not worried too much about the possibility of a cusco 1 2 3 in the rain. Anything can happen (it is full damage) and it is also a championship, and one of those cuscos is starting the race on zero points. My goal is simply going to be to finish and maximise my points.

Looking forward to it. :)

I think you went the wrong way with that estimate buddy. If Mics 72 lap estimate is in the dry, then if the race is declared wet it needs to be even shorter, like 65 laps or even 60.

I agree, full wet we're looking at 60-65 laps most likely. Depends on how fast you and Scott can drive in the wet!:P

The ever changing forecast is now showing a dry track for the race!

Precip Amount Weather
Sun 26 May
01:00 WSW 12 / 20 mph 39 / 32°F 97% 1009 mb 95% 0.0 In [Light drizzle]
04:00 WSW 14 / 23 mph 39 / 31°F 99% 1006 mb 100% 0.0 In [Light drizzle]

no accumulation! :mischievous:

I was a good 20 seconds slower on a wet track...when I made it around cleanly that is

FR/MR + Wet =

Looking forward to Spa and to the whole race weekend for that matter! With Spa with you guys, F1 in Monaco, Indy 500 at Indianapolis and Suzuka for the Sunday Cup Grande Finale on my weekend program, it's like racing heaven! 👍

Please correct if I'm wrong:

Race start in:

That'd be correct mate, and what a weekend of racing! Send the WAGS away for it :-P

Meanwhile, all drivers are expected to keep 2 wheels on track at ALL times except when crashing or running wide accidentally of course.

I shall be reviewing the race myself so keep it clean.

Back markers are to remain on the racing line and allow passing attempts of those lapping them.

You may pull over off track to allow a pass if you wish but you must do so ONLY if doing so won't endanger anyone else or yourself so do it only if you've enough time.

Any questions?

With HP's permission, I'll be sort-of standing in for Knukken this weekend in the RE Asparagusdrink. Will be starting from the back of the grid.

As far as I am concerned the red and white kerb is part of the track right? So a 'foul' is only when all 4 wheels are inside the red and white kerb. Pls confirm

Replace track with tarmac, 2 wheels on the black stuff.

Basically I don't want to see habitual offenders, we all tend to run slightly wide or get slightly off line here and there so I won't be a track nazi about it but care still needs to be taken, especially around the "oh, rouge?" And "poo hun?" areas.

Hmmmm, i better check my lines. I use the striped curbs very liberally.

And bobd, looking forward to racing with you again:tup:

Not to be a pain, but i have always considered rumble strips to be a part of the track.

From gtp:
"Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the track/circuit which includes the rumble strips and footpaths, but not grassed areas."

"On a more serious note make sure to respect the track boundaries. There are several places where allowing the car to run wide and outside legal boundaries can gain you time. The admins understand that occasionally a mistake is made and the car goes a little wide, but "habitua'" abuse of track boundaries will be penalized. Special areas of concern this week include the top of the hill after Eau Rouge, Pouhon, Stavelot II, and Blanchimont. Keep two tires on/over track at all times, all rumbles are considered track, green runoff areas are not track. The green stuff will set this car off as well so be careful. If you find yourself running wide, take a more conservative approach to the corner on subsequent laps."

I believe that's the way the FIA rules too......

07:00 2.0 mm

10:00 2.7 mm

13:00 1.2 mm

how would this convert to actual race settings? 20% going up to 27% then down to 13%? so 50%+ rain practice wont be necessary?

Rain settings will be decided on the morning.

Mic, if the rumbles are considered track then so be it we will allow it.

Makes little sense to me though, to me rumbles are for 2 wheels and drivers should keep 2 tyres on the black at all times but if OLR rules say otherwise then fair enough.

Our race time is Sunday 01:00 - 04:00 local Spa time

With some really bright lights on :-)

unless Heathenpride has other ideas of course :scared:

every time i've checked the forecast this week it's been vastly different

Paincake, you can't program GT5 to have specific changeable settings like you mention, we just do our best to set it at the start and then let it do it's thing, so you never really know what the race will be like by the end. Could end up raining at start and being dry the other 70 laps or it could be a 100% downpour and never let up.

HP has more experience than I on rain settings, so he does his best to emulate it as much as you can in gt5.

Correct Mic :)

Guys, I've just had 5 hours sleep in prep for a 15 to 18 hour work day today and then I will get only a few hours before the race. Now I know my venerable body and it may decide that the alarm I set for the race can go and get copulated thus ensuring I don't wake up... If this does happen I will need a backup, can I ask Gadget and Mic to do this if needed?

I shall get Mrs Pride to wake me also but that's not a guaranteed thing, when I'm asleep after little sleep for days I could sleep through a loud concert, and indeed have done once :scared:

Cheers guys :)

Sorry for double post. If there's less than 16 racing I might join if everything goes as planned. I don't know yet. If there's full grid, I'll join TM enduro instead if possible.

I'll be there and yes I can deputize with Mic if Bossman is still dead to the world. Kev I'm sure it won't be a full house so for sure there must be a spot for you.
