Yes, I agree, it was a good outing. Thanks to those that took part. Good race Gadget, a well deserved win. What was your best laptime?

WIDFO - Belated reply as I missed your question. My best lap was an 8:22.6, which is also my best ever lap in this car/setup, so I was well happy :)

KurtKrDu
I got this one HP.

This race will be run during the day ingame.

Thanks Kurt.

Also, until I get premium membership here again I'm unable to receive pm messages I think and I certainly cannot reply as the 800 that I have is slightly over the 50 limit for basic members :scared: not sure when I'll have it again so if non CRAP members need to reach me drop me an email to gladsheim@gmail.com 👍

EDIT: Thanks to a wonderfully generous CRAP member (who may wish to remain nameless so no names) I now have premium again.

Massive thanks for a wonderful gesture at a really bad personal time, greatly appreciated :)

So yes, ignore my earlier post but don't hesitate to email me at the address mentioned if in need.

I've opened up public room 1472-6399-8966-5883-9192 for practice, head on over if keen and online.

knukken
Can someone confirm if I'm in or not this weekend?

Yes you are, you're on the list.

Kreaser is in too, replacement for WIDFO who's pulled out, FYI all Kreaser is CRAP member also, hence the straight swap. I'll update list later.

Good luck in the race mate. I'll look for the result here when I'm away and hope to get together with you again for some practice upon my holiday return mid November:tup:

This evening will be the final check on tyre management to sort out the strategy. Tomorrow evening will be an early good night sleep, otherwise I won't last the night come raceday! :sly:

Because of the snow that came today, I nmght have to leave for the weekend to help gf's mom. I won't know for sure until tomorrow. If you find domeone to take my place just give it to them just in case.

Sorry for finding out so late

I have to drop out of this, sorry guys. I need more time to prepare and just don't have it available.

So I did my final preparation for tomorrows race. 👍

Being my first big Endurace-event, I'm bound to make mistakes in the preparation: I decided to make some changes to my setup I raced with the last weeks. Car does feel a bit different, but I'm hoping that it will help me in the long run. (Setup gives better turn-in, so I can drive into the corners easier and get better tyremanagement.)

I do hope there will be a (near) full grid! No practice for me tonight as I need to get some sleep in advance.
Cheers gentlemen and see you on the track.

Good to see you guys taking it serious.

Turbo, will knock you off grid, thanks for being honest.

Knukk, as CRAP member your spot is assured so just sing out if you can't.

All,

Please ensure you are taking into consideration your diet and, in particular, your salt intake to reduce cramping which will be an issue for some.

Also, consider taking a 1 minute pit stop to replenish full full tank at half way, this will allow you to go to the toilet and stretch your legs which will be vital.

Be smart about this race guys, it will NOT be a walk in the park - it will be intense and way underestimated by at least one driver.

I reiterate that RAGE QUITTING is not tolerated, I have zero patience for such things.

Lastly:

The disconnection policy is this:

If you disconnect you are considered to have permanent engine failure and your race is over, I STRONGLY SUGGEST that you all clear your caches and reset your modems as race re-entry is not possible.

In the unlikely event of a mass discon we will move to a public room but this is not likely, it would take 90% of the room to discon before I chose that.

Cheers, any Q's drop me a PM

holy ____ your a local:lol:

so this is taking place 7am our time?

Hi fellow racers,

I'm as prepared as I can be regarding training and car set up. I have a comfy sim rig and I'm used to drive long distances (real car) so that part feels like I have under control. The detail regarding food and fluid intake is still to be sorted out, but I will use my experience from my long distance cross country competitions (>8 hours).

Two issues will be interesting to manage under the race - concentration/focus and the sleepiness.

I have set up a wired connection. 👍

See you soon on track, cheers! :)

holy ____ your a local:lol:

so this is taking place 7am our time?

Correct on both counts :) you're in SA?

Looks like I can make it.

My biggest issues will be food, sleepiness and bloodsugar (got diabetes). I'm always up for a challenge, and looking forward to this one 👍

I'm prepared as I can be.

I'm pretty consistent with lap times in practice. I've also worked out a pit strategy to give the full tank fill in the middle. I just hope I can avoid damage that throws the strategy out the window. Sometimes I have difficulty trying to work out the new pit strategy after an incident whilst still concentrating on driving. :scared:

The other thing that will be a problem for me is that my set up is in the lounge, and although I have arranged for my loved ones to bugger off, there is still the likelihood that they will come back at a bad time. Oh well.

Looking forward to this one. Let's hope for a good event (good turn out, no collisions, no disconnects) :)

I can, game froze on start up though 👎

Looking forward to the race. The 4 hour time is nothing for me :) I've driven coast to coast 3 times this year. In July I drove from our home in north Georgia to Cheyenne, Wyoming non stop in 27 hours (other than refueling and eating). Two weeks ago my wife and I drove from Georgia to Southern California non-stop in 36 hours (did this both ways) although she did relieve me for a couple hours a couple times while I napped in the back of the truck :)

My main issues are developing what I refer to as "pedal foot" which I only get in my Playseat rig (not in real world vehicles) and is quite uncomfortable after a couple hours. The other issue is simply mental focus. With so little sensory stimulation it's easy for me to get distracted compared to driving in the real world. As I get older (and I seem to be) I find that my eye/hand coordination and my reflexes are as good as ever, but I seem to be making more mistakes on track due to loss of focus as I enter my mid-sixties :nervous:

I don't expect to win but am hoping that I live up to my expectations of mediocrity at least :dopey: If I drive mistake free, that'll be as good as a win as far as I'm concerned, so give the old guy some room please :)

Sorry Heathenpride, I think I'm heading up north, to see my new old car. I'm really hoping to buy it. :) I doubt I'll make it to the race.

I'm going to jump in the lobby for some practice if anyone wants to join.

Come to my lounge mate, there's 5 of us running laps now

No problem Mr M, all good :)

Hi all

Some vital information regarding the race is within this post; it is expected that you all read it carefully.

  1. Disconnections: Any driver that is disconnected will be deemed to have total and permanent engine failure and their race over.
  2. Race re-entry: Disconnected drivers may re-enter the race to watch but no one else.
  3. Rage quitting: Is not tolerated, I have said it before and I will repeat again that if you RQ you will be expelled from the remainder of the season. If you feel the need to walk away please park in a safe area well off the track
  4. Qualifying: Qual will be 1 out lap and then a hot lap. At the completion of your hot lap you will park in the run-off area to the left of the 'esses' being the very first corner.
  5. Start procedure 1: Start will be a rolling start. After I line everyone up on grid I will call start and the lead car will travel in 2nd gear to the esses and when exiting the esses their race will begin, you may accelerate. This goes for all cars, only when you exit the esses can you accelerate. This will be reviewed upon race completion, anyone caught not complying risks DQ.
  6. Start procedure 2: The rolling will begin only at 2 minutes on the race clock or later if the grid order requires more time to set up, this will ensure BSOD (black screen of death) is minimised.
  7. PSN ID's of non drivers: All PSN ID's of non drivers will be removed from the host PSN ID so that only those driving may enter the lounge. This is to ensure minimal instances of that annoying text box.
  8. In race comms: Only myself or Kurt are permitted to use communication during the race. If you have heavy damage and need that communicated please type HD in the text box and that is it, drivers approaching you will then know. It is expected that you allow them to pass and that passing cars slow down accordingly to minimise potential contact.
  9. Modems and network cache: Please clear these prior to race, this is mandatory.
  10. Misc 1: Remember your diet. Food and drink are vital, have a stash of essentials nearby for quick access during pits.
  11. Misc 2: Toilet breaks will be few and far between, time them well.
  12. Misc 3: Remember to ask your family (especially kids) or housemates to leave you alone if possible :scared:
  13. Misc 4: Punctuality: I expect you all in the lounge on time, I reserve the right to commence the race if you are not present as delays are not acceptable unless they are unforeseen technical difficulties in which case a public room may be opened instead of the private lounge.
  14. Misc 5: Remember this golden rule: It is the Nurb, passing on most sections is lunacy and on those rare times when you can it will take a skilled driver. More often than not it spells doom for all involved so I stress the virtue of patience, it is best to sit behind a car, and pressure them, then take them on the straight than try some bonehead maneuver that leaves cars damaged, this is a 4 hour race so if you have no patience then you have no business racing! I will leave it up to you all to decide whether passing is an option but please err on the side of caution if you have any doubts as to the success of a potential pass.

I think that is it, if I think of anything else I will edit this post.

URGENT LATE NOTICE

The 4 hour race will be now held in a public room limited to 11 entrants and only those drivers in my previous post will be allowed access, if you are not on the list but can drive simply put a post here and I will check it first thing when I wake up.

This is to minimise connection issues which were notable tonight so the change is for the best.

Room will be fixed connection on my network so pray I don't get disconnected or you all will too, it is rare that I do so I doubt it will happen.

In the event that it does I will open it up again and we will recommence so make sure you're aware of your current position at all times, like I said though it won't be an issue I am sure.

I will post room number here but you can all follow the yellow dot on my profile as well.

Cheers guys, see you in a little while!!!

EDIT: Room opens in 7 hours approx, qualifying starts in 7 hours 45 min approx.
