Hey, as soon as I get the CEL can I join this?

CEL?

-Constant Estimated Lap?
-Cool Exciting Life?
-Car, Experience and Lucidity?
-Confirmation of Estrogen Lacking?
-Control of Erradic Lag?

Please point me in the right direction...:sly:

Right ;) I figured it had something to do with that... ha

And if you can't make the time....just say your car 'wurks' like 'CRAP'.

8:24 is enough for a gold CEL, was there an admin present or two members from different nationalities?

Guys, some news:

Kurt and I will be making some slight changes to the format, nothing huge, and will be in touch soon via this thread.

Also, practice may be impossible for me as I am now likely working on Sundays, I worked today and again next week, so we can either leave it and I will practice on my own or we can do it on the Saturday morning instead, so Friday night for you northern hemispheric folks... Perhaps a show of virtual hands letting me know if you either a) don't mind either way or b) if one is preferred to the other?

Thanks everyone, oh and the next 4hr race WILL have qualifying times so get practicing because if you don't meet the (yet to be determined) time you will not be able to race...

Cheers

I can't seem to crack the 41.0 barrier in the eligible cars, today in a lower PP car I nailed a 8.40.9 the car was at 374BHP and 1150KG, the cars that are eligible are cars I don't really use or seem desirable enough for me to spend any time in them, or though I'm tweaking the Corvette and I'm getting very comfortable in it at the spec's,

I'm up for practice races, always good fun to drive with you gentlemen. So I'm for shifting to a day earlier. 👍 Let the practice races continue!

I'm up for practice races when I'm on. Can't say no to Nurb races 👍

Do you have a yet to be determined car spec? Is it the same as for the first race but 394HP? It's just that I have limited time at the moment and don't want to practice with something that isn't eligible.

Thanks :)

Yes, one of the changes to be made will be a drop to 394 ponies. Cars will remain as per the 24hr race and after that they will change so expect 1 more race with the same cars at the lower BHP - This is why the lap time qualifications will likely differ, I just have not had a chance to test... Maybe yourself and Knukk can help me out there? You guys can PM me the results of a few laps and we can discuss the times, if you're able to do that I would greatly appreciate it :)

Mate, keep at it. Concentrate on smooth lines, early deceleration then "punching it" out of corners (prob don't try that in the 'vette though :scared: ) and practice LOTS :) You will be fine, just takes time.

Yes, indeedy! :)

Brilliant, thanks Lissa. Can you please amend the CEL thread OP with the time and ask Nosoks if he remembers his exact time? I can find it but if I can avoid trawling through replays it would be handy :dunce:

Truth is the drop of 10hp wont make a huge difference on lap times. I think it would be very fun to have some driver training for those who want to get their times closer to the CEL. I'll think about it as I love teaching and sharing the magic of speed.

-Suspension soft enough to kiss the rumble strips.
-Know the track. You must be intimate with every corner to be fast.
-Learn how to use all the track while leaving a few inches at the edge on braking and corner exit as safety margin.
-Be aware/analyse of how a missed corner entry affects the exit and use the cue of a missed line to adjust the exit accordingly.

Just a few points...

I think the bold writing is my biggest issue, I'm not using enough of the track down from the carousel through to the back straight, nor am I comfortable enough down the back section, and there is no real way of just testing that section without it taking an hour,

Mate, let's organise a time and I can show you how to drive it, that's my favorite part of the track but the hardest to learn as it is the back half, takes months to get to know it intimately.

sure can mate, I don't know what it is at that section, plus I'm not exactly confident in the cars on the car list, nor desire them, my biggest problem was pushing to hard in the early sectors where I'm strong to compensate for potential time lost down the back, but that usually ends in disaster, I will shoot you a FR next time I'm on, All and any help would be much appreciated,

No worries mate, if my list is full send me a PM on here and I will make room for you.

I love that section of the track. I just call it the extremely technical part. I love getting in a rhythm through there because it feels like you are going so fast even in a slow car.

I'll try to do some laps later today, or tomorrow morning. I don't think lap times will get much slower.

Have you thought of settings for tyre wear?

Sorry for doublepost.

I'm at Nurb testing now with 394 bhp and new physics. I did a 1 lap race, and it was about 7.5 seconds slower than "normal". With less bhp and different physics (if it is different), my gears and lsd are wrong. If I can sort it out, and maybe change suspension a bit, it should be possible to get roughly the same times except on the straight because it takes longer to reach the same speed. On the straight my car is less than 10 kph slower. I guess it depends on the driver too. It feels less grippy now, and I had some mistakes. I'll continue testing and edit this post if I get different results.

We'll likely use PDs 'normal' tire wear setting.

So gentlemen, are we racing tonight?

We talked about having the practice races 1 day earlier, but I do not know what the final decision is.
I will keep an eye on this thread, as I have the time to race this evening/night.
Cheers

Organised practice will resume next week, but no reason you can't do one tonight mate, see if anyone's interested :)

Thanks for the reply Heathenpride.

I'm up for some racing tonight with the normal settings we always run.

Race will start @ 00:00 CET (it is 13:00 CET at the time of this post)
Suggestions are welcome

Room may be opened earlier by anyone in our WurksLounge.

Registered drivers:

I might be on from 21-2230 gmt tonight, and 7:30 gmt tomorrow morning. If you see me on, send a message

Thanks knukken, I'll let you know. We need a few more drivers for a proper race.

EDIT: I will not open a room due to lack of interest, but I will see you gentlemen next week! 👍
