I wouldn't mind buying MW2 just to see how similar the differences between the two games.

Oh, and I'd like to get a nuke as soon as I can. How hard can it be? :P

Do they have that in MW3?

For me, the nuke was pretty hard. I've been able to call it in just once. I think my 'wall' was 23 kill streak? I've hit the wall so many times, it's not even funny. For some players, it wasn't that hard. Honestly, I think it's how fast your internet connection is(mine SUCK).

I played some tonight, and it was back to battling trying to keep the k/d above even. It dropped from 2.03 at the beginning of the night to 1.99 at the end(this is my sub-account). Lagging connection + end of six-day (working)week didn't help.

MW3 has the MOAB. It requires a 25 kill streak, no other killstreaks allowed, and doesn't end the game, but adds a red tint to the map and causes an EMP for the enemy team.

A MOAB would be harder to get because only gun kills count towards it. I've gotten over 50 so I guess a Nuke wouldn't be much harder :P

Yeah, if you're capable of getting a 7 killstreak, and being decent with a chopper gunner, you can get a nuke no problem

If you want a "hard" way to get a nuke, try it with the following killstreaks: 11,15,25

But use your AC-130 or Chopper gunner (11) after you get the EMP (15).

Or just don't use any killstreaks at all.

My god. I was working on M16, trying to get ACOG? My k/d is now 1.96. Most games, I'm barely doing 1.5.

Yeah, I play this game from time to time. It's a fun game, and yeah nuke's are a great challenge. @a6m5: Yeah, they have a "nuke" in MW3. It's called a MOAB (Mother Of All Bombs) and you get it while using specialist scorestreaks. I found that kinda cool, the difference: in MW2 your killstreak kills counted towards your Nuke, but since in MW3 you run Specialist you don't have anything but gun kills.

I've borrowed the game off a friend yesterday and I've already gotten a Nuke with under 2 hours played, so I'm pretty happy :D And I think it's pretty good considering I'm only Level 22, Prestige 0.

My setup was:
M4A1 Silenced
PP2000 Silenced (before picking up a TAR-21 Silenced)

Scavenger Pro
Stopping Power Pro
Steady Aim

Predator
Chopper Gunner
Nuke

I held most of the Greenhouse/Estate area without getting into much trouble. I only got about 7 kills with the Chopper before someone took it down :indiff:

It makes all the difference if you have a headset. Countless times I've survived getting Commando'd or 1337 QuIkSc0ppeD due to hearing people behind the corner.

Also got two more yesterday - Sub Base (I think - it's the snowy, industrial area innit?) and Terminal. I'd have to say that MOABs are quicker to get (because of the way the spawns are set up in MW3), but Nukes are overall easier.

I played few weeks ago, it wasn't that bad. CoD4 and MW2 both, when I went back, it really wasn't too bad getting around hacked lobbies. When you are in one, whatever you do, do not back out. Instead, disconnect the network/internet cable.

My main CoD4 account was permanently destroyed by hackers. These people needs to get 🤬 and 🤬.

True, all my friends who got headset swears by them. Of course, decent internet connection would help, also. When I play, first two three shots don't count, most games. 🤬 Verizon/Frontier.

Boy, I just tried playing some MW2 over last couple of nights & it's a hackfest. Last night, some short bus showing off his x-ray vision, making the point of shooting us thru objects. Tonight, I got owned so hard by another short bus, an aimbot this time around. I feel for their parents, or maybe it's their fault.

I'm tired of MW3(no, I don't have B.O.'s), so here I come, CoD4!

 If you thought MW2 was bad, don't even try Cod4. Unless you want to get killed by superman - (some kid flying around the map)

Not one hacker, at least tonight. I was out of sync at first, then I got the "host pro"(where you are the host, duh). 19 kill 10 death game was actually the bad game. I had a blast!

You've made me want to try it. Again. :) Still play MW2 online with friends every so often, but you do come across hackers frequently. Last time i played CoD4 i couldn't find an un-hacked lobby, which is a shame because it's probably the purest of the lot. Great maps too.

I also enjoy the stripped down, back to basic gameplay of the CoD4. Only downside I guess is setting up a party, then getting that party into team deathmatch. Also, my account got partially locked up by a hacker, so all my stats were erased, and some of my go-to-guns like P90's are locked. I wish that hacker something awful. :grumpy:

We had some fun back in the day, but man, the lag one of us would be suffering was headache inducing. I remember having to shoot at not where the enemy is, but where I think the enemy might be now......

That's why i liked some of the more sniper-friendly maps, of which there were plenty in MW1, at least you have a fighting chance of hitting a non-moving target :dunce:

It never did handle latency very well. Got better with MW2 & 3 though.

Back when MW2 was still playable, it was the best, especially the maps. (Estate and Favela FTW!)

Now it's rare that I find a lobby where someone isn't levitating 200ft above, using aimbotted akimbo Vectors. 👎

Yeah, I got no respect for hackers & modders. If they get banned for life, that would be fine by me. They need to keep their garbage in private lobby.

This is how bad I am at sniping. Last night, with a .50 cal, I got three hit markers in a row, when the guy finally dropped me with his sniper rifle. I must've been hitting his toes or something. 3 shots with a .50 and I couldn't kill him! :dunce:

That's why hardcore FTW :sly: - one hit, one kill.

You can play CoD4 and I am sure MW2 on PC without hacking issues.

Oh, I remember the old times when I was running with akimbo G18s and having real fun
But now hackers got the upper hand... :(
I don't exactly know why, but I find MW3 not so fun as MW2 was. I think MW3 is filled with a lot of new features (like "strike packages", etc) too much, making it harder to get used to.

I pretty much retired after MW2, but maybe earlier this year, I ended up playing MW3 & it wasn't that bad. Added features did make the game play more complicated. Overall, I liked it, but I got tired of it fast. I experienced no hacking in that game, so that was definitely a plus.

So much nostalgia reading the last few pages of this thread.

It was such a shame that the first few Call of Duty's for the PS3 were ruined by the people who hacked. MW2 was albeit not perfect when it was released, but it still provided many hours worth of fun game time. I liked the Second Prestige badge the best, so that's where I stayed. I must have racked up about 30-40K kills overall. So I have lots of fun memories of it, especially with the few guys that I always played in a party with.

I haven't played any Call of Duty to an extent for nearly two years now, but recently I've thought about going on and having a few more games but I know it won't be like it used to be. Plus I don't want to experience any more hacked lobbies than what I already have.

How often do you guys play? (Older titles in particular, MW2 or before).

Not very often any more, I did get back into World at War a few months back but gave up in the end. I'd get one good game out of two dozen maybe, the rest were hacked.

I still play MW2, only like twice a week though. The only thing that makes me come back is the maps and the F2000.
