So, the beta's here and almost gone, and the game is around the corner.

A good time to start talking about it, then! This thread is to discuss WWII news, game mechanics, balance, etc.

Basically, anything WWII. Now, as a fair warning, please follow the AUP and don't post anything outside of it in here.

I thought I'd kick things off with some beta streams:

I really like the beta so far and I'm hyped for the final product!

I can't say anything about the mechanics or balance as I haven't played it yet.
I'm very excited they've stepped back to WW2, not a fan at all of the futuristic material.
World at War was one of my favorites, so this will be the first COD I've been excited about in a few years.

Disappointed that they chickened out and didnt use authentic stylised swastikas. But on the whole it looks fun. Got my pre order in early.

The campaign will still feature swastikas.

Source?

I believe I read that the reason swastikas were removed was due to censorship in certain countries, so instead of having different versions for some parts of the world, Sledgehammer removed swastikas completely.

Played this yesterday. First thing I noticed was that the graphics looked dull, lightning isn't great. Looked like I was playing an early PS4 game from a non AAA dev. The game itself wasn't bad but I had that age old problem that all FPS give me ( other than MW), by the 2nd game my eyes felt like they were bulging out of my head and I felt really queasy by the end of it. Don't recall feeling so nauseous that quickly from a game previously though.

Am I the only one that feels like this game is trying to be BF1?
It's you. SHG started this project three years ago. BF1 came out in 2016, and apparently went into development mid 2015.

Purely coincidential.

Edit: They added more range to some of the guns and they feel much better now.

I find myself getting very excited for this to drop Friday.
I might even join the midnight release here in town, haven't been to one in a few years.

I've gone for digital this time around, so will be playing from midnight.

Will most likely do my normal for FPS, which is 30 - 60 campaign a night and far too much MP each night.

I should go digital, I heard something about pre-order double XP. I'll look into it tonight.

Side note, I thoroughly enjoyed and agree with your GT video in the Forza forum. You nailed it.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing about digital vs. physical. Looks like there are perks for going digital this time around, but I also don't get my Gamers Club rewards if I go that route. This will be my first CoD since BO3, can't pass up a World War II shooter!

This is the best explanation I've found about the perks replacement called divisions.
Alot of the YouTube video personalities have annoying squeaky voice overs that talk too fast for this 40 year old to understand.
This guy has a good voice and I learned alot.

Just bought it today. Currently updating. Looks amazing & I haven't played the beta so should be more exciting.

It's very good, with great graphics. My only gripe would be just 9 maps in multiplayer.
Other than that, I'm already level 25.
I don't think I'm going prestige this time though.
Does anyone know if 55 is it?

They nerfed the 1941 Johnson a bit from the beta. It's got noticeably jumpier recoil.

Good thing I will be getting the season pass then haha, from what I've seen on the beta videos the guns look like they gave no recoil. Is it any or slightly different in the full version? You could literally shoot the BAR. in a straight line from what I saw.

WRONG.

All of the guns save for the Type 100 and M1 Carbine/FG42 have a good amount of recoil that could throw you way off target.

Must have just been the videos I was watching then. Was a long time ago just after the first gameplay reveal was revealed. Or it was just me.

Videos don't do a good job capturing the (quite) fast recoiling. Plus if you're not on a large monitor it's even harder to see.

Will of been my small Iphone5s screen then. Blame the iPhone :D But on topic, it still looks great regardless.

They all have decent to very good recoil. My favorite so far is the Carbine although it unlocks at 31, I've been lucky to find it laying around here and there.
Everyone is running and gunning, blah I like a much slower pace.
Sniping is all but impossible as most maps are small.
One new mode is called Gridiron and is very fun. A ball is placed in the middle of the map, you pick it up and hopefully have a good team to clear a hole for you to score.

That's just a renamed version of Uplink.
