Here's a tune from Mike at Vengence Tuning for the Cappy.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=160799&highlight=suzuki+cappuccino

It was done online with racing softs. I have found Mike's tunes to be the most suited to my driving style of all the tuners I've tried. I can't remember what my exact settings were from a couple of pages back but a quick glance at his tune makes me think we use the same schools of thought for tuning...lol. I think they are pretty close.

I just got my new wheel yesterday, and now my best time is like 1:09.xxx (previously was around 1:06 flat) :embarrassed:

im still waiting for mine , decided to go with the DFGT as my first wheel. Been reading the posts and its quite informative. Im hoping i can have enough "seat time" with the wheel as what others are saying about the learning curve. Been practicing with the Cap lately at the same time breaking it in.

Best time is 1:05:7 on Tsukuba with sports soft, DS3 & Auto tranny. Still needs room for improvement. Running on RKM tune with no adjustment made so far.

I basically started with the RKM tune that is (was?) in the OP, then made the ARB's stiffer because I noticed too much body roll. I may also have tweaked the brakes more to my liking (5/6 I believe). Otherwise suspension settings in that one are pretty spot on.

If you're trying to find the right LSD settings on your own I recommend starting out at 5/5/5, getting a feel for the car, then bump your initial up to about 10, retest, dial in the initial (I usually end up bumping up the initial another point or 2 here). At this point you the LSD should be feeling about right, and you'll just need to tweak the accel/decel values until things are feeling just right.

That's my quick and dirty method. Works like 90% of the time... ;)

while not competing and psn is still down I tried this for sh**s and giggles, just turned a 1:02:587 1st lap and a 1:02:483 2nd with ds3(on tsukaba), while it's bit twitchy; I think I can get a sub 1 with a little more practice, love messing around while psn is dead. have fun and remember to fasten your seat belts.:)

Thank you I hadn't seen this one yet.
This definitely looks more like the tuning my bf & I did on my Cappucino, with the exception of the toe angle that high. Maybe I'll try adding those toe angle numbers to what I've got first.

Setting the ARB's at 1 defeats their purpose altogether which is to modulate the car from pitching side to side during cornering.

That's what my bf said too.

As far as the whole "different online" thing goes... I just don't get it. I see only maybe a difference in a few cars, on particular tracks. (Like the spitfire & Alpine on Trial Mountain. They seem maybe a bit more & longer wheel spinny in some places. Maybe it's the same with the Cappucino, I don't know.)

I generally get better lap times in cars online, than in my practice area. And I mean much better sometimes!

Maybe it IS different if you have 16 people in a race, the latency may be a lot more....
In general, I have not experienced what some people report.
But I haven't been in a lot of races with a full 16 cars. Usually 12 & under...

That's sort of how I do it too. I work it up (or down) by maybe 2 points at a time. My bf seems to think 2 points wouldn't make that big a difference, but sometimes I notice it. Sometimes the difference between 3 points can be amazing! I think I'm more "delicate" with throttle than I am with brake & especially steering. So I suspect that my tuning preferences probably reflect this. I think most people seem to say the opposite is more common. But I generally have to adjust acceleration sensitivity UP, and brake sensitivity DOWN (from a tune I find online). I realize that as I get better, that may change, because it's already changed to a certain degree since I started playing gt5. But regardless, I have to tune to my needs as they are.

In the 3-4 days since I last looked at the thread...its grew 5 pages!

Haha! And today was a slow day for the thread, only a few posts. lol I think we're all starting to slip into a depression/funk from the lack of PSN. Before the outage I was playing every day, tuning or practicing for a league, doing the seasonal events, etc. but now I'm down to every other day.

Right now I'm staring at my wheel, wanting to play but not even knowing what I would want to do. I've done all the "testing" and break-in I can on the Capp, I have my FGT all broken in for the Indy 500, have managed to score all the sweet rides I'd been looking for in the UCD, I have around 10 million credits so I don't need to grind............guess it's probably time to tackle the Vettle Challenge since it's the only one available that I haven't done. lol

Tell me about it, I'm almost bored of the Nurburgring (note, almost lol, can never be fully bored of it!) offline in practice, and really cant be arsed refreshing the UCD to get a NSX LM road car or Nissan 390 GT1 racecar, so boring lol. Can't wait for online much longer! :x

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's bored/going mad anyway lol

Oh and definitely do the Vettel challenge, itll keep you occupied for some hrs for sure haha ;)

haha ;)
If I think about working on that, I can find a dozen other things to do suddenly. Like mopping the kitchen floor, or license tests. LOL ;) :D

Over the last couple weeks, my bf has spent a couple of hours on that (just that I know of), and I think he's only gotten bronze in one event so far. So I'm under the impression it will be a long time before *I* bother with it. haha. I still have most of the extreme aspec to do myself.

That's because most of the people involved in this series are rather on the gabby side. LOL (Myself definitely no exception, more like the rule. ;) )

Take it from the starter of a nearly 3,000 post thread, they grow rather quickly if people just chat away. :dopey:

In our defense, this is the closest we can get to racing each other for the time being...

Checking the Provisional Registration List, I see we have enough to fill 2 16 car grids. Dunno if this was discussed already, but I was wondering if we plan on doing divisions as well for each of the scheduled nights for the upcoming season like they do for the ITCC.

Who cares?!? I just wanna race!!!.... Just kidding, Cam. The 'outage' stress is getting to me. IMO, I don't think we should worry about divisions just yet, there's enough of us at various skill levels that everyone should have someone to battle for position.

I think I should relieve my outage stress by taking the car back to Tsukuba again but on Sport Softs for a run of about 2 dozen laps or so a little later on then. :)

Well..... I have managed a 1.04.198 round tsukuba on sports softs (wish we were racing on racing softs!!) and don't i feel slow when i see times 2 seconds faster per lap!!

Way to go Indy. Try some of Mike's other tunes as well if you're interested. Remember most, if not all, were tuned online with racing softs, so some of the twitchiness you feel may be due to them being tuned on grippier rubber.

Hey Brandon, have you updated the lap time list lately? I didn't see my 1:02.35 there last time I looked...lol.

Ya...after last nights Playstation Blog it got my spirits down a lot...Hopefully it will be back on tonight.

I'll probably get around to running some practice laps today, though I'm sure it will mostly be for nothing, as we're running online compared to offline, but meh.

any room for 1 more looks like a fun series , quite a big diffrence to the F1 series im in xD .
ill have 2 buy a capp tho i havent had 1 since my 1st account back in jan so.

The biggest positive about practicing and switching up tunes is you'll get a feeling for how certain settings adjust the cars attitude. Knowing how to fix problems is a great benefit. Granted the specific settings may be useless, but at least you'll have a heads up on how to make it drive the way you would like it to (more or less under or oversteer etc :)). 👍

I got ya updated. 👍 I was kinda busy over the weekend and wasn't around GTP much. Since this PSN outage doesn't look to be over any time soon (and I suspect they will be the target of ongoing attacks even when it is back up) I've been looking into building a PC that can run games like rFactor and GTR, etc. My current machine isn't quite up to it, but I've got to find something to get my online racing fix!! :)

Increase your Front Anti Roll up 1 click and see if that helps. If not then decrease your Accel LSD by 5 clicks and see if that stops you spinning out. Last but not least try not smashing down on the gas pedal before you hit the apex of the turn. You should be rolling your gas on as you're approaching the apex and then once you hit it then give it all the gas pedal you've got left.

Someone dub the Chili's song I want my baby back, baby back. But using PSN instead of baby. So I want my PSN Back, PSN Back. . .
