Topless..... Nudie bars..... I just want my time posted!!! That was 1.03.177!!!

LOL. Your time has been updated. 👍

Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up, I'm not sure exactly what this means but I think it's a good sign. Many are speculating the return of PSN this weekend, I'm still not holding my breath but this is the first sign of real progress we've seen so far! Cross your fingers!!

Not the first time we've heard the words "It'll be up soon" Lol, looks like this has a bit more to go on though so hopefully we'll be online 'soon' haha...

yeah i am getting very board and i am going to play shift 2 maybe but i mite get a better time in the capps

No problem. We've probably got at least a few days before the PSN is back up so no hurry. Once we're back online we'll be taking off full-speed though!

Brandon

dont think that its been three days till PSN is back but still no hurry

Im getting pretty close to the platinum trophy I've gotten so bored...

Last I read on our national news network main website, CBC, was an official Sony announcement that they were looking at the end of May...

The wheel is coming along. My best time with the wheel 1:05.537 (8/100 off my DS3 but still slow!)

Can one of you guys who are running 1:03 post a video of your lap? I'd like to see where I am losing so much time! I suspect it is mainly because I have no idea how to trail brake.

Post a video? I can't even get the darn thing to copy a picture onto a memory stick...lol. Try my tune I posted a few pages ago, with the gearing set up the same way, not on automatic but on manual, shift around 8000 rpm no later, see what lap times you run. Using my same tune but with auto transmission instantly made me more than 1 second slower.

Try to not light up the tires under braking as it reduces traction and thus cornering and how early you can get on the throttle exiting the same corner. Especially important in the first hairpin. Into the sweeper (final corner), try turning in before braking but don't stomp the brakes, it only needs gentle pressure and then downshift (this will also slow down the car and bring the front end around as well) but try to do it so you don't either upset the balance of the car, nor slide out. You'll be much faster there if you don't break traction and drift out. If you keep traction and don't light up the tires, you can power out early for the front straight. You should be running out with four wheels onto the curbing on the left side of the track. If not, you aren't getting on the throttle early enough or carrying enough speed through the corner.

Another trick is the right hand kink after the second hairpin. Getting that corner right is huge as it carries speed all the way to the next hairpin. You should be taking it in 3rd and try to get two wheels up on the curb or even the grass. Try also to keep the throttle down at least partway, but ride the brake a little. This will give you better bite for the corner and keep the speed up. If you can't do that, you should still be able to do it just by lifting and not braking.

End of May :'( lol, dayum... Gives me a chance to revise for my exams I suppose lol

About trail braking, I don't even know what that is so unless I'm doing it inadvertently then it might not be that :S

Yeah I am getting around the same time as you with a DFGT with almost default setting (just with top speed at 106)(that's amost all I can change  ) any tips or tune set ups

PSN is back online! sorta.....update is available for the new psn, but you still get the under maintenance message.

Trail braking just means you stay lightly on the brakes as you turn through the corner. I dont consider it a crucial technique, its just a matter of whether it suits your driving style. I find I only use it in very specific situations.

It helps me get the car to rotate on entry.

Video as promised:
Fwiw I still have some miles before she is broken in.

Still nothing in Indiana but it looks like several states have been re-activated in the last few hours so I'm hoping I'll be up and running by tomorrow! If I am, you can bet I'll be having a Capp lounge open and I'll be sure to post the details on here. Hope to see you guys SOON!!!! 👍

Brandon

You just need to change the ride height snoopy. If people can set lap after lap in a GT-R, which is twice as heavy and three times as powerful with Comfort softs, you're just missing something. Don't give up!

Wardez you are right. I had +40 / -10 as ride height. Ran a 1:02.7 offline with that setup but could not even make it to the Dunlop sign...lowered the front and at least I made it through one lap. Whew.

Man, these cars are drastically different online. You guys weren't kidding. Looks like I'll be re-tuning my Capp tomorrow...

Offline - 1:03.xxx
Online - 1:06.xxx
👎👎👎

UK isn't back online yet :( finally did a lap with manual transmission and did a 1:02.834 which is pretty irrelevant now I know lol, but whatever :)

Yep, I'm officially back online too!!! HELL YES!!!!!!!!!! I had almost given up hope, to the point that I've had a custom gaming PC built for me. lol

So, are you guys ready for some Capp Racing?!? I know I am! I realize not everybody is back online yet but I'm going to have some open lounges today for those that are. I have some stuff to do today (damn it!) but I'm going to hop on for a little bit this morning and then should be back on after 2 or 3 pm EST and should be around most of the day after that.

For those that are back online, send me a friend request and put Capp Racing in the subject so I know who you are. PSN ID: BrandonW77

I look forward to seeing everyone on track!!

Brandon

LOL...I hope we're back online up here in the Great White North. I gotta run but I'll be back on later and I'll add you then Brandon. I'll post a revised tune later as well so anyone struggling with set up will at least have a starting point. I imagine with the offline setups, most people will be oversteering like crazy and spinning out constantly. I'd expect that online with SS a lap of 1:04.xx will be pretty good if previous experience holds.

Before deciding which tracks we're going to race on for sure, I'd take the car around each one for at least a few laps because Tsukuba has more grip than most tracks to begin with and you'll find elevation changes and camber changes really affect that car's balance and grip.

Just did a few runs online with Mudd, Iforccev8 & ... you know who you are!

ANYWAY

iforce ran a spectacular 1:04.1xx 1:03.5xx on Tsukuba!

So fast. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with the tuning. Iforce was trying to explain it to me but I got disconnected.

I was able to get the car neutral by running the ride height @ -10 front and 12 rear. Try that before you feel like the car's impossible to drive "online".

Anyway, should be fun, keep at it guys.
