You mean Deep Forest Reverse right?...lol.
D'oh!

If your timing doesnt work for whatever reason than the host of the room needs to be different. It would probably be best if the host wasnt even in the race. That would make the room easier to run,and to kick the idiots who show up in the wrong car etc.iForce, I'm going to do everything I can to get more gaps between drivers during qualifying. For the next race I will make it clear that drivers can only leave the pits when I release them via the chat box. I hadn't tested what we did last night so I was kinda shooting from the hip and I didn't do a good job of releasing people. Now that everybody has a feel for what we'll be doing I hope it will go smoother next time. Unfortunately, my live timing monitor rarely works so I usually have no way of knowing who's fastest/slowest and wouldn't have a way to group the drivers as you proposed. It would also be very time consuming to sit there and calculate everybody's times and figure out who goes in what group. I want qualifying to be quick and simple, and other than a couple traffic issues it was, so I think we're on the right track.

FWIW, real world racers do encounter occasional traffic during qualifying. But I think once we get everyone "trained" to leave a good gap between them and other drivers we should be in pretty good shape. I'll kinda try to harp on that point so everybody remembers.
Seems like yesterday that Jarno Trullihorrible used to complain every other race about how some traffic got in his way during his hot lap and ruined his qualifying session.
Well since your connection seems better than maybe the private lounge would be a better option. If you wanted the room in the open lounge i could host Friday night since i have no plans to ever return to Tsukuba to race again. You or Mule or whoever wants the room later can enter the room in 2nd name slot (if my connection is good enough). As long as all the cars are in the pits T&S should show their best lap in practice.I would record the times-then set the groups-reset the room-send them out on track fastest to slowest in each group-rinse repeat until the field is set-then i would leave the room and the 2nd guy on the list would become host and the race begins. If its in a lounge then i can enter at any time and just watch and leave when the job is done.I agree. But finding somebody who wants to host a room but not race is probably not very easy. It was also kind of hard for me to tell who was supposed to be there and who wasn't. I recognize a lot of your PSN ID's by now, but there's so many of us I'm now always sure.
I'd kinda like to do what other leagues do, put "Capp Cup" in your "greeting" so when you enter the room I know you're supposed to be there. But I noticed some people already had 3 or 4 leagues listed in their greeting so there might not be room for them to add another one. I do keep a list of the registrants on hand so I can double-check whenever somebody enters the room.

Twitch aka my cappy, The big gold rims Still look race. Wooot so glad no ones called them DONK or etc. They'd been gone. My kids suggested it and to my surprise it really had a good look. IMHO.
I'm probably flame baitin here, but I like the traffic issuesIt's frustrating, but so is lap traffic in race. It's a part of "the experience." I'm not saying we shouldn't police it or try to keep people spread out, but if I'm catching someone and we're both on "hot" laps and he spins, that's part of life.

I would recommend to the fast guys to just take it easy and slow down, so you won't have issues with traffic...
I hope to be there Friday night. Q starts at 10 ET and race starts 10:30 ET, right?
SohnVon, I am joking. I agree with Brandon that Q is trickier at Tsukuba because of the short track. Hopefully it should be better at Deep Mountain.
Whew, you should use more smileys![]()

More evidence that the internet needs a sarcasm font.
Friday and Saturday will both be at the much-hated Tsukuba. Each night has its own points standings and runs the same track for the week. Next week all three nights will be at Deep Forest - Reverse, the following week will be at Nurburgring GP/D.

I don't understand why people hate Tsukuba. I rather enjoy racing there and find it to be one of my favorite courses for small-bore competition. The track demands precision and even small mistakes can translate into a trailing car losing the draft of the lead car. This is one of my favorite things about Tsukuba as it rewards the consistent driver and reduces the effect of GT5's unrealistic draft. The track allows for different lines for cars/drivers with different styles which still result in similar lap times. The kerbs are also pretty nasty and can unsettle the car and cause oversteer if you aren't cautious.
Tsukuba is a course that is easy learn and posting competitive lap times can be achieved pretty quickly. But to really master the track and run at the front you have to learn the track's nuances and be able to run error free lap after lap. Tsukuba challenges me and has helped me to not only develop and improve my driving skills but to also hone my racecraft and become a winning driver. And in the end, isn't that why we are all here?
The reason we all hate it is because we started this thing up before the PSN outage, and we all spent the next 4 weeks practicing on Tsukuba to get ready for the season. So, we're ready to be done with it and move on to something new and fresh.
