Seriously though, from searching the forums, g27 brake sticking seems to be more than just a freak occurrence. Time for some Fanatec gear and Logitech warranty claim, I guess.

Really? I've never come across those reports before, first I've heard of it. I've been using mine daily since the end of December and haven't had any problems but I'll be on the lookout from now on. Let me know if you find any info about how to fix/prevent.

I am thinking the fix is to replace the potentiometers.

However I'm with Brandon. Used the G27 I had for an obscene amount of time and was trouble free.

Curious are really rough with the brakes? Maybe had friends using it? My kids have had issues with the brake on their DFGT. We messed with it some. Found out they was sliding their foot off and letting the brake spring back out "bang". Wonder if this has some bearing on the situation.

Just to be clear, I wasn't doubting the issue with the brake pedal, just stating that I'd never heard of it. I usually read any G27 stuff I see so was surprised I hadn't heard of it before.

We knew whatcha was saying.

I do feel it's not as common on the G27 as say a DFGT two pedal set up or say Fanatec's cheap pedals. Heck I even repaired a set of CSP pedals recently.

So on that. I'd suggest new pots if it's indeed an issue with the current ones. There's some upgrades To be made here.

Also Nixim mod the brake pedal first. May solve the issue. Beings it puts more resting pressure.

That would for sure fix the problem, no way the brake could get stuck with that! I'll be doing the Nixim to mine in the near future. 👍

Why would I mod smth that is still under warranty? Anyway, finding reports of similar incidents is not hard at all.

Well, I don't know to search for it if I'm not aware the issue exists! Granted, I haven't ventured out into the general GTP public much lately so I could easily miss things.

I haven't used the Nixim brake mod myself but I'm very familiar with it and I think it would greatly improve the stock pedal. The G27 brake pedal is far and away better than the DFGT but is still much weaker than a real car so more stiffness would be nice. Yeah, I said "more stiffness", I know.

I'd made my own "Nixim" mod. What I did was use some rubber non reinforced hose. It slid in the old spring if I remember correctly. I then cut wedges our of the sides so that it had a three stage feel. Off the rest position till about half way it was normal. Then got stiffer and right before lock up it got real stiff.

You will want pedals secure for this mod if anyone is considering. My pedals were removed and inverted. This allowed me super easy access to spring. Thus I was able to take it in and out till I got it perfect for me.

I have the DFGT and I use bungee cords to up the feel of the pedals and it does make quite a big difference. Not as good as a good quality set up for sure, but much superior to the standard, almost no feel at all, pedals.

Stuffed a foam stress ball into the little well behind the brake pedal on my DFP. The only drawback to that idea is that eventually the stress ball will get torn into with use.

I tried stuffing some water pipe insulation behind the pedals Cam, but I much prefer the feel of the bungee cords. You should try it.

Hey guys, sorry for my absence the last couple days but I was in an accident on my motorcycle Wednesday evening. I was on my way to my weekly poker game doing about 60mph down the highway when an idiot heading towards me decided to turn left in front of me. I managed to avoid her but got tossed off the bike (high-sided) at about 45mph and tumbled down the road. I had all my protective gear on but didn't have the liner in my armored jacked so some asphalt got through the mesh on the right sleeve and rashed my forearm pretty good. That's the worst of my injuries, a scrape on my left elbow/knee and an iPhone shaped bruise on my right thigh. My right leg and shoulder are very stiff so I'm not sure if I'll be able to race tonight but I will still host the room and take a front row seat as a spectator if I'm not able to drive.

I'm back at work today and going to see how that treats me, might be the deciding factor on if I can drive tonight. I have to climb 1.5 stories of stairs to get to my office so I imagine I'll be pretty stiff by the end of the day. The race will go on as regularly scheduled though, so no worries. I'm feeling better today than I expected, so hopefully I can climb in the cockpit tonight. 👍

Hey, just glad to hear to walked away from that! Could have been so much worse (best not to dwell on what could have been).

Take it easy and don't rush yourself back. Plenty of ice on your bruises and in your tumbler of whiskey (purely medicial of course).

Good lord Brandon!

Glad to here you didn't get completely tore up or worse.

Glad to hear you are ok, I highsided my bike on a race track going about 75 so I know your pain, you'll feel really soar in about another day or so

Thanks guys. My right side is rather sore but other than the road rash on my right forearm it's just bruising. I feel better today than I did yesterday so I think I'm through the worst of it. It wasn't nearly as bad as it should have been, for sure. Thank god for safety gear!

Indeed the right gear helps alot

I had full-face helmet, armored jacket, armored gloves, heavy-duty jeans and boots. I wore that stuff everytime I rode because I knew it was just a matter of time before an idiot tried to kill me. I would be in pretty bad shape if I hadn't had that gear on, maybe no broke bones but road rash galore, for sure.

Glad your ok B. That's a sign of a true Capp addict, going to work today just so you can see how your gonna feel for race night.:dopey: Guess that's why your the Capp King of GTP!

Kevlar jeans? How did they hold up, I know when j went down in regular jeans they burnt up pretty quick. You having a funeral for your helmet?

Luckily we're at an oval this week so it doesn't require too much movement of my shoulder. I might just be able to race tonight, but we'll see how the day goes. ;)

They split around my phone but no tears other than that. I have some rash on my left knee where the material rubbed but didn't tear through or even scuff. Believe it or not, they weren't my kevlar jeans, they were heavy duty Carharrt work jeans. I have a pair of Dragon Jeans that are made with kevlar but they were in the dirty laundry pile so I went to my backups, and damn they did a great job! 👍 to Carharrt ftw.

You should email them and show a picture and say how well the handled it, maybe they will be so pleased they will send you a free pair!!

Well, the EMT's had to cut them up to get them off me so they're rather tattered now. lol
