BMW 840 and the Alfa 155 were two of my favorites.
Now, I haven't played far into gt3/4 but I haven't found the Nissan Stagea 260RS in either of them, which dissapointed me, it's my favorite car.

[t3h wagon oddness in me]

The nissan stagea is in gt4. I prefer the subaru legacy wagon for my drifting though.

glad to see another wagon drifter like myself :D

Wagons rock for drifting. I was surprised a couple years ago when I got in a Subaru Legacy and managed to bake a Viper in the GT Regionals. I used a white Legacy. My sister has a white Legacy Outback in real-life so she especially dug the replay of my Soobie skooling that Viper at Grand Valley :D

lol, thats awesome, I would love too see that video.

How good is the Legacy wagon. I was looking into getting a legacy 2.5gt wagon for my first car (wagon), until i found a pretty cheap 1998 impreza which i want more than anything in the world, lol

The Legacy wagon is surprisingly manageable. Lots of grip but also alot of ground clearance. This means it doesn't get upset by bumps too much. Leans alot, but has alot of control, too. You'll be shocked. It loves to slide once you get the power up but can get right back to gripping again in a flash :D Great acceleration down low, too (like 5.5 second zero to sixty times, stock).

I also used an Impreza wagon (race kit included) to do a lot of rallies. I'm sure the Legacy would be impressive too, but maybe just a tad clumsy, perhaps.

I'm glad to see that Parnelli Bone and TEAMDiablo3 doesn't underrate the Legacy. The legacy can hold it's own against the STi IMO. The Subaru Legacy Spec-B Sedan is one of the most fun cars I've driven in GT4. I like it's viscous sound. :D:tup: Even though it is a little bit heavier than the STi, I still love it more than the Imprezas. The Legacy wagons are great too. :)👍 They have amazing grip and are also underrated even more than the sedans... :indiff: The Stegea A.K.A. the Skyline Estate is also underrated, but it comes at a close second.

EDIT: I see that we got a bit Off-Topic with GT4 again...

I've driven all those except the Stagea. I believe I dabbled in one a few times, but have no recollection of the experience. :( I know you can put some serious power under that hood though.

Yeah, I remember beating cars at level 10 difficulty with my fully tuned Stegea 260RS. That wagon can actually do some amazing drifts and keep control. That's all I want from my wagons. :)

sounds great. definitely the response i was looking for :D, lol.

I think i may have to go with the impreza though. I'm stuck in Florida and its in Oklahoma, whereas all the legacy wagons are up north ( where i should be, lol )

anyways this all depends on if i get a job and if the dealership in oklahoma sells it. im keeping my fingers crossed though, lol.

I need to try the stagea, ive always wanted to but spaced when it came time to actually make one.

The sleeper of the group is the Mazda 323F, which is a bit of a Impreza rip-off :sly: the Forester is surprising, too. Again, lots of grip but also the ability to lose yourself in a well-controlled slide. Lots of ground clearance (up to 200 mm!) and low-end acceleration.

One of the first 4wd cars I drove in GT1 was a Legacy, but i discovered the SVX first. That car blew me away! The traction is always there....the only time it's not is when you're flying over a bump or something 👍

I love barely beating a TVR with my fully modified Honda Civic Sedan '93. It only had about 230HP and couldn't keep up in the straights, but corners nice. :)👍

Man, you remind me of Dave, my former GT-loving housemate. I miss Dave. :( I have fond memories also of kicking some TVR tail in a Civic and also driving an Alfa 145 hatchback at the GT Nationals race in Deep Forest! That Alfa needs more respect. It pretty much does what you want with a lack of understeer (in GT2, anyways. I'm sure GT4 will be a different story).

A bit off topic, but last night I finished the Sunday Cup and FF challenge races in GT4. What did I use for battle? A crappy/ordinary sleeper Infiniti G20! All the other drivers in their spiffy Civics and FTOs never saw me coming and were shocked to watch me going! 👍

Sometimes a close-ratio gearbox with a stronger clutch bolted to the 1-way limited slip is a great substitute for more power.

The Infiniti G20 has amazingly quick shifting, also I got 2 of them. One fully modded and one somewhat modified. It is one of my favorite FF's in GT4. I pulled off some nice slides with this car every now and then. It's a true sleeper. 👍

I miss the [R] S2000 GT1. I know that the Amuse S2000 GT1 is in GT4, but it's just not the same...it's so damn ricey I can't even stand it! I want the old GT1 back, with its menacing looks, its like the Darth Vader of cars.

I miss that car so much that I'm seriously thinking about getting back into GT2 just to drive it (where do you win it? I cant remember). I'm currently playing GT4 and I dont have a copy of GT2 anymore (I stopped playing when my poor garage was wiped by the damn GTB...I had a PS2 and GT3 already so I just moved on) so I think might get a copy and run it on an emulator for the improved graphics.

My dream come true would be if they remade GT2 for the PS2. Ahhh yes...the best Gran Turismo ever (just for the sheer number of cars, any certifiable car nut would agree) with all bugs fixed and GT4-caliber graphics and physics. Alas, it's but a pipe dream...though a wonderful dream none-the-less.

I think it'll be like Atari games: they re-issued a lot of them for Playstation as a sort of "20-year reunion". Perhaps someday they'll re-issue GT1 and GT2 with better graphics but it won't be anytime soon. :(

Anyways, yeah I also loved the S2000 GT1! It's a bit of a sleeper since it has no race-sponsorship on its body panels...and you can only buy one in black, white, or silver-gray if I'm not mistaken. Almost like a project car but with a real powerful engine in its bay.

Here's mine:

Lotus Elise gt1 - Awesome GT1 car. It looks especially awesome in yellow
Lotus Espirit gt1 - another awesome GT1 car.
Opel Tigra ice racer - Fastest rally car on GT2. enough said
Honda S2000 GT1 - That was a real driver's car there. it was especially awesome to drive this thing go around Laguna Seca. while in GT3 it got replaced by the S2000 LM(which has the same awesome car sound the JGTC NSXs have) and in GT4 there's the Amuse S2000 GT1, nothing tops the original.

Kure R33
Unisia Jecs Skyline
Zexel Skyline
Arta Zexel Skyline
CDMA One Cerumo Supra
Daishin Silvia
BP Kraft Apex Trueno GT
Momo MR-2
Taeivon Trampio FTO (which later Becomes the FTO LM in GT3)
STP Taisan Viper
Viper GTS-R Team Oreca('99)
Nissan R390 GT1('97)
Toyota GT-ONE('98)
Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe
Saleen SR Widebody

I miss all of them.

I like the idea of the "20 year reunion" type thing. I can just imagine it, new for the PS5 its Gran Turismo 2, lol. That brings up another thing, I can't wait until im really old, well sorta. When im old ill listen to all my ancient cd's and mp3's and play GT2 on the ps1. My kids and grandkids will laugh and i can give them the stiff middle finger while i put on some metallica, lol.

Sort of back on topic, While i was going through my garage i looked at my 1970 Barracuda, the problem being they made it wrong. They gave the cuda's rear end to some other car (I forget which) and Gave the supposed 70 Cuda the 73 cuda's rear end.

I completely agree with you about the S2000 AudiJunkie. Though i have a bit of a hard time controlling the S2000 GT1, I still feel it looks 10x better than the crap one PD gave us in GT4.

Man i haven't looked at the GT2 section of GTP in a good while. Glad to see this topic is still alive

Well one thing can be said to sum things up: looks, weight, power, handling, price being the points of interest here--the GT90 is surely one which polarizes gamers as they give their opinions. 👍 Most everyone has strong opinions on it.

@Diablo: It does. The GT2 version has a wing, which was only popped up when it reached x km/h. Would've been alot better if GT2 just didnt have the wing at all.

I love the car. It is what makes GT2 great, all these weird cars. You can win it, if you're lucky enough, in the Seattle 100 Miles. 👍

 I didn't say anything about a wing, did I?
