champcar: Back on track

BOth drivers bring money into dale coyne, but tarso is better qualified for the job. back in f1, tarso in a minardi often out-qualified gaston in the much more fancied prost-ferrari. BRING BACK TARSO....or get a third car for him.

it will be good to get back on a track with some right hand turns. remember at portland last year, adrian fernandez's move on tracy in the first corner? it was a cracker. well adrian wont be pullin such moves this year, he will be too busy turning left, so i fancy a tracy victory..

hopefully tags will get up there, from memory he got a podium there last year

first round of qualifying, junkie is on pole, tracy is back iin form. gonzalez is a surprise, go tags

Well it was a fairly good race. Some stupid incedents from Tracy and a Nice solid finish from Pat. Pity Ryan screwed up at the end. I'm really starting to forget about my grudge to the french and I have a growing respect for Bourdais.

Anyway, they're still producing some good races:tup:

Top three spots for Race:
1. Paul Tracy
2. Rodolfo Lavin
3. Sebastion Bourdais

PAUL TRACY (#1 Indeck Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone): "It was a strange session. We were trying to wait for a little bit, then when we decided to go out, so did everyone else. The first run was filled with a lot of traffic. I just couldn't find a gap the whole time to get in a good run. I just never found a rhythm this session. The red came out at just the right time for Rodolfo and me."

RODOLFO LAVIN (#3 Corona Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone): "This feels really great. It is great for me, Corona, and my team. We struggled yesterday because the car was not very good. We worked real hard on the car last night and the car was great today. We are showing what we can do with a good car and a good team. We're getting the results that we're looking for and hope to continue with this positive momentum for race day tomorrow."

SEBASTIEN BOURDAIS (#2 McDonald's Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone): "I am just happy to be starting third and glad that I will be up front for the start of the race. Each time we went out a new tires, we just couldn't get a good run. Running into traffic, but mostly, going out then a red flag coming out. There were a lot of surprises this session for a lot of people. The McDonald's car is good, we will make some changes for tomorrow, and try to keep it out front."

Enjoy the race,

Blake

i missed the race, im so cut. you wanna know why. because my VCR DIED!!!!! i am so ashamed.

i heard that tracy won, but i am shocked at roldolfo lavin qualifying. i thought hwe was ****. he still may be, but thats a great effort.

I still haven't finished witching all of it, missed about 20 minutes of it so I'll post the results once I see it all.

Pitty Pat got knocked out:(

I s'pose you'll be the 2nd happiest person in the world now (behind Tags) because he won Road America:tup:

TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

long time coming, many victorys robbed from him, today he was ON IT!!!

great race though, lavin upto second, servia was good. i thought the 3 main title guys (frencie, tracy and junkie) showed flawed, umprofessional bits of driving today.

Earlier you said you'd be happy if he won at least one race this season, I guess you're happy;)

im a straight guy and all....but tag seems to have deserved this win. he has a great personality....and is just a nice guy. What a win too when you look at where he qualified. :) CART will be back to the way it used to be ...you'll see!!

i missed the denver race, ****ING VCR SHAT ITSELF AGAIN GRRRRRRR

another bourdais victory, another step towards the championship in my opinion.

tags brought down to earth with a 10th place finish grrr oh well, bring on the next one where i WILL TAPE IT

Bourdais put on a GREAT performance. He got knocked down to 13th by Bruno on the first corner then worked his way up to 2nd with no yellows then there was a yellow and he just kicked Tracy out of the equation. VERY good race.

EXPECT BIG NEWS EXPECT BIG NEWS

my sources tell me that later on tonight, OWRS will announce a title sponsor. Word has it that it may be Mcdonalds, and slimmer chances are FORD and DHL. no matter hwat, if we get a title sponsor, that can only spell great things for champcars

No title sponsor.

McDonalds is the official Fast Food of Champcar World Series though, so good news, if not as good as hoped.

Of other note, McDonalds will continue to sponsor a car for Newman/Haas through 2005. What is most interesting about that, is the attachement of Haas to the name for deal, which suggests he will be in OWRS next year afterall, though may still field an IRL team as well.

i heard that newmann/hass will stay champcar only next year.....hope he stays true to his word.

pity it wasnt a title sponsor, but still good news. Mcdonalds is the most reconisable brand in the world, and to be associated with them can only be good.

I hate McDonalds but for the good of ChampCar I don't mind them. You see that interview with Jimmy Vasser on RPM?

Eh, they were just having an interview with him about the team, his record for most consecutive race starts etc. Wasn't much but it was worth watching.

good on ya bruno, great to see him back up on the top step of the podium. Good work by pat, tags had a bit of a shocker.

big news, Josh Hunt has surrended his lexmark indy 300 drive for another year of toyota atlantic, but guess who's (most likely) taking his place....no other than V8supercar driver david besnard!!!!!!! this is mad, go bezzy, show them how us aussies drive.

bessy had a good us career until he ran out of funding, like so many other australians....

Yeah, we have too many problems with that:(. But go Besnard! That'll be interesting to see!

last aussie in a champcar was Jason bright, fellow v8supercar star. and he was AWESOME. in a crap team, he got his car up to 5th, before retiring because max papis decided to crash right in front of him. he was unlucky not to secure a full time seat from that run.

It would be great if we could get an Aussie a full time seat in Champcar! I'd still support Pat though -- except he might be leaving champcar at the end of thsi season.

i will too, unless he crosses to the dark side.

Josh hunt has another year to impress in toyota atlantics, and marcus marshall has expresses his strong interest to race a champcar, he is doing well in british f3 right now

i bet ya stoked, another carpentier victory at the 'screw

good race though, everyone was droppin out, A.J, tracy, bourdais...all were fallin back big time.
