Classic American Muscle Championship - The Dawn of Season 2 In Session

How is everyone doing with the series so far?

I've run one of the short races about a dozen times while tweaking the power and drivetrain, and just finished the first endurance race while testing tyres.
Both can definately be improved apon now that I have the car setup properly.

I wasn't able to try and fix the ps2 this weekend because of a family emergency.

So I opened it tonight, cleaned the lens with some alcohol and put it back together.

I made it worse! Now it says disc read error and makes some noises. Doesn't seem like the disc is spinning at all.

Only thing I can think of is I tightened the screws on the disc tray too tight. If that doesn't work I'll have to drop out since my ps2 is 100% dead. :(

Ah man, that's not good adamgp.

You can buy the Z28 Camaro in the dealership right? If so I'll have that please, with number 555 as my racing number.

Crooooooow, you wanna be my partner?

It is purchasable in the classic Chevrolet dealership.

with number 555 as my racing number.

The eligible numbers range from 0 to 99.

Sure. Now you won't have to choose a number, nor choose the Camaro. I will give you my tuning settings for the Stingray L46 350, if you want.

Do we only get 1 racing number? Even in a team with 2 cars?
I mean I know this is GT4 where you can have an entire field of same-make race cars all with the same number, but for the purposes of fantasy racing surely we can bend that rule a bit!

A member of a team may choose a race number separate from their teammates'.

You've given me more complaints for changes to the competition than anyone else. So, there you go. :sly:

Are racing tires allowed?

Any set of tires are eligible.

Just don't want you getting the impression that this organisation and moderation lark is any kind of picnic, that's all! Gotta keep you on your toes! :sly:

I'll go with my originally requested number of 42, alongside Car-less' 58.

While running summers laps I thought about this run from 2 summers ago. You guys missed a great game! I took 3rd behind Viperin and the winner RacerPaul.

Link for the top 3 runs. Three different styles. Viperin chose to use some Motard and I rode in windscreen view. Much more challenging, but a ton more fun! :)

Just for clarification - from drivetrain parts only transmission ones are allowed, everything else (LSD, clutch, flywheel, c.driveshaft) isn't ?

Only transmissions can be changed, yes.

Ah, the joys of English.

Wikipedia
In British English the term transmission refers to the whole drive train, including gearbox, clutch, prop shaft (for rear-wheel drive), differential and final drive shafts. In American English, however... ...a transmission is a type of gearbox that can be "shifted" to dynamically change the speed:torque ratio, such as in a vehicle.

When I first asked you to clarify I thought that you meant the British version, but now I think you meant the American version.

If you are just refering to the box of cogs that allows you to select the drive ratio, then can we please call it a gearbox? It will mean that I have to re-do the two races I have already done, but that's no biggie as I'm not too happy with them and was considering them as practise runs anyway.

I was also worried about American or British version so that was the reason I asked Crooooooow for clarification. It's good to know that both Crooooooow and GT4 refers to American english, so far I didn't do any mistakes considering tuning of my car.
I also suggest to stick with word gearbox, other words might be confusing for some players.

Updated to reduce the confusion.
Any exhaust, engine (except turbo), turbo, and transmission parts (gearbox) are the only legal upgrades, as well as tires.

Here is a very important update for the competition.
*For Teams: To make it fair to the single racers, you will have to have either member do one part of the racing events, and you complete the other racing events. Or, both of the team members complete all of the races, and choose who has the better time than the other team member.

Team Map O' Tasse has their races done. 👍 Might rerun a few before the deadline. But that's up to our fearless leader Mr. Viperin to decide.
