Well when you get to my age hehe, work does take up a lot of time =)

And YAAAAY!! My Fanatec GT2 is on its way now, this is going to be a good week. New wheel coming, getting new TV on Friday. YAAAAY!!!

Corn, I've been think about renewing my wheel, but want to keep it 'PS3' specific, so I've been looking at the new GT official wheel, the Thrustmaster T500 RS....looks the boy, tad expensive though :-o

OmniusGT, I just wished that the paddels where not fixed on the T500. The paddles do not follow the wheel when turning, that is the big issue I have with that wheel. Otherwise I think that the wheel looks amazing to be honest. Why do you want the wheel to be PS3 specific? Because it doesn't really matter on the PS3 tbh (I can explain why sometime if you want) that is why so many wheels work on the PS3. =)

Omnius, i 'lied' about my age to get in to your 'club' seeing as your all around 35+ im really 21, hope your all ok with that and sorry for being a lier, just that i thought i found a group that suits me i am on my gap year though, and ive also been thinking about getting a wheel myself, as i want the 'full driving experience' from the 'best driving simulator' any suggestions??

I would say lieing is never the way to go and if you mature then the age doesn't matter that much, but for some reason most (not all) people I have played with that have been around 14 nearly always end up being "14" years old.

In life honesty will always make you more muture. But you did act good and no issues from what I saw last night =)

DFGT is a good cheapish option if you can find one and it is a good wheel. www.overclockers.co.uk often have good deals on G27 if you wait until they have them in their "deal of the week" or what its called (and no I have nothing to do with them at all). At the moment I think its something like £220 inc VAT.

Ok and yeah i know what you mean, and do you have a wheel, how much is a 'reasonable price to pay' for a wheel? I know there is one (think its called vs3 or something like that) thats £600+ !! But its the whole set and has your tv attaches to it.

I am the wrong person to ask what a reasonable price is I think.

Siming/racing is my hobby and I don't mind spending money on it at all. Some people like to drink loads of beer others like to buy sim gear =)

But I would recommend the G27 or the DFGT as it does really take the game to a different level to be honest. DS3 is good for many things but its not built for racing =)

Ive got the DFGT and think for the money its the best bargain wheel out there. I have heavily modified the pedals, paddles and uprated the sequential shifter (so that its on the correct side, lol)

That may be the case, but I didn't come on here to be lied to, and something quite trivial too - age, the mention of 'people in their 30's' on my original post was there to give people out there an understanding of our age range, not to limit who I'd be happy to game with, also if you had asked I would have told you I have lads and lasses in the CORE/on my PSN who are in their early 20's but they said they were and proved that they were 'adult/mature' regardless of age.

I'm sorry, but as you can see a lot of people have responded to my post and I have built up a lot on new faces on here, and with us all being new to each other, only through playing online will we see how we all 'click' I wouldn't hold it against anyone after a couple of weeks or months to decide that my group wasn't actually for them and leave, but at least we had all started on a level playing field....something which I'm afraid you haven't.

Thanks for responding to my post and for attending an online race in GT, but for me, the fact you thought you needed to lie over your age, doesn't fit in with me or my group.

Hi, its 'bainesy's' cousin jack, hes an idiot for leaving it on omnius, so are you saying yoy would of rather not known about this and prefer him to carry on lying? I mean, atleast he coughed up and told the truth. And by reading what max(bainesy) has said, it seems he has found a group that suits him and it looks like he only lied about his age to make some mates and enjoy what this game was made for "good clean fun racing" i agree with you he has shown that he his perhaps not as mature as others, for coming strate up and telling you his age, but come on, he's only looking for some fun. And he is mature. Please can you give him a second chance? Atleast consider it. Thanks. (sorry for this long paragraph just some cousinly love ;P) and btw he's at a party but im sleeping his tonight, so do you think i could maybe join in on this? It would only be for one night, and i can prove my maturity and im a clean racer.

Hi Jack, I don't think (hope I am not out of line Omnius) he meant that he would rather not known but more that he didn't want to be lied to at all.

I do agree it was strong of Max to come out and admit it. It takes a man to admit that he did wrong. But its not up to me as this is Omnius thread and its him sorting out the races and putting in all the work (thanks for that Omnius in case I forget to say it).

Max is welcome to come and race with me and my cuz but if Omnius says he can't come along and race when its 's "race night" then that is the way it has to be sorry to say.

A word of advise Jack, it can really backfire when you have good intentions and write something just to help out. Always talk it over with the person first, I have learnt this the hard way.

It should be ok to drop in when we race, it wont be until later on though. And do understand Omnius, when we where on last night racing the poor man had to stop every 2min and add people to his list or answer questions so he didn't really get to drive that much. Its more work then must people understand. Impossible for him to add everyone and have time for everyone, in the end he has to pick and chose (or at least I would have to if it was me).

It can be quite hectic when you start something like this and to be honest as nice as it is to have many PSN friends who share a passion for a single game, I haven't got the time to get into the rights and wrongs of why someone feels they need to lie about their age. I have many new friends on here to race with, I'm just not here to be lied to regardless of the reason. I just want a core group of deicated racers, I'll not have liars (it does sound a strong use of the word considering its over a minor issue) Nor will I play with people that are 15! I'm 37 and due to that there are some age groups that I am not comfortable to 'hang around in' Virtual or in life in general.

I've said enough on the subject, time to move on and get this thread back on track (no pun intended)

GTP_ADE, not sure what I am going todo with my G25 when I get my new wheel. The G25 is complete as I have a ARC-TEAM G27-E as well that is not working so I am going to use those pedals in my rig with my new wheel. Think I will maybe keep the G25 and have around for when friends come over so nobody has to use a controller hehe.

Kk20, seems good and fun, but the races are a bit too long for my liking, ill give it a shot though, how do i join, and can modify the cars? Can we do our own personal setup/tune?

You are not allowed to upgrade the cars as it will keep all the cars the same level. You are allowed to tune however way you want. Do you understand the choice of cars?...It is all the premium GT500 cars in the dealership. You must change oil and limit the power to reach the 493 bhp limit. the Weight stays at 1100kg...If you're interested register on the website and turn up on saturdays at 4:45pm UK Time....Let me know what you think..
