"Remember Texas". I can't trade with Europe without ports on the Gulf or East coasts. Well, I can, but it would take a long while. By the way, I declared peace with you right after Texas, I never meant to attack your other states.
Japan was just a random attack out of the blue. How you managed to get so many allies to attack with you, I will never know.

There was no reason to attack Japan other than spill blood. We fought with all we had to defend Japanese sovereignty, and you destroyed them. Taking a state is not as major as taking over an entire country.
One more act of unprovoked aggression, and I will hold a UN conference myself, inviting all leaders to join and discuss the issue.
Just be glad we signed a ceasefire.

"A grey moon shines down upon the Emperor's Palace in New Tenochtitlan. A beautiful night, with waves gently washing up the beaches, and a calm breeze of wind.
The Emperor stands near a window, with a chocolate drink in hand. He looks at the Pacific Ocean, both amazed and depressed.
He talks to his Empress about his disappointment with his diplomats, failing to get along with many of the New Aztec Empire's neighbors. After all, fewer allies and fewer trade partners mean that the nation won't prosper.
More importantly, he discusses the issue of war. Tensions between the New Aztec Empire and the United Southern States has lead to hostilities. One war started when the NAE wanted to expand to the Gulf coast, allowing them to trade across the Atlantic Ocean. The next war started as Japan was invaded by the same enemy, and with allies. The NAE sent over 300,000 troops to meet up with allies to defend Japan. Unfortunately, despite managing to inflict a large amount of casualties against the enemy alliance, the defenders were wiped out, and Japan had fallen. Fortunately, a ceasefire was signed before the war could get really bloody.
Suddenly, as they were discussing war with the USS, there was someone knocking at the door..."
Anyways, what happened to my invasion of Montana?

Perhaps since it's not supposed to be "The Empire" from Star Wars.
You might have to wait and see what happens, and wonder, who is this mysterious man who knocked on the door to the Emperor's Room?
Diplomatic wise, I would like to offer a trade to Oktoberfest - Weaponry and oil for livestock and titanium.

On another note, my annexations went even more smoothly than expected and are now complete. Don't know if I need a mod's approval for that or not, but there it is. I also received PeterJB's shipment of military assets. 👍
$6 billion has been spent to recruit 500,000 more land soldiers, 250,000 placed in each new district. While we lack (for now) the state of the art technology of other nations' armies, we have strength in numbers, due in large part to our enticing reserve recruitment opportunities, which are among the most stable jobs in the nation.
Total troop count:
500,000 land - North district
500,000 land - Southwest district
500,000 land - Southeast district
1 million air - North district - will be redistributed as soon as air force bases are constructed in the recently acquired districts.
500,000 sea - the navy is based in the island chain just above the mainland.
Total: 3 million even.
Budget: $40 billion. ($39 billion plus trade revenue).
