Not bad, but still a minute slower than the Alpine or Chaparral.
It wasn't working with the patch 1.20. I managed to get 570PP with some adjustments. Damper compression 28/20 Extension 40/41 / Frequency 3.35 / 3.70 Differential (initial torque) 11. Ended up with 574pp.

Trying to find the perfect pit strategy for the glitched apline (Racing Soft tyres):
-if you pit lap 6, your new tyres will go rear red by the second half of lap 11 and you need to pit a second time.
-if you pit lap 8, your old tyres will go rear red by the second half of lap 8 before you reach the pit.
-I havent done lap 7 pit yet, but by looking at the cases above, i suspect you gonna be ice skating in lap 12.

Pre-patch I started doing laps 5 and 9 for pitting. But that was because I was focused on beating my FL time. First pit just tires and fuel and tires second pit. Fuel consumption is slightly improved post-patch (2-races only) because 1.19 I'd fuel end lap 9 and would have like 0.4-0.6 laps left. 1.20 I have 1.4-1.6 laps left when fueling.

I hate the new damage though! They did 3-major changes to it. Assigned damage prob 5x more sensitive. Made damage effect your handling MUCH more pronounced (erratic/jerky pulling whereas before you could easily compensate for the pull) and to top it all off, the make the damage last twice as long (feels like it I haven't tested or measured it). Ok, so all that being said, ok, you know what, I could drive better and be more precise, right? SIKE! They went ahead and made the car understeer at high speeds (speaking about you sweeping right hander at the 2nd overpass after the 1st s-turn!)

I just take it a bit easy with the throttle, as I’m still going to be about 26 minutes on average, by pitting Lap 8 or 9. Can add .5 laps of fuel, if wanting to push harder or no refuel and cruise to the finish.
Main problem, if I take it easy from the start, I’m finding the AI are merciless with pushing me around.

Edit: Oh yes. As @Saargasm ,entioned, that sudden understeer, random I’m finding(understeer is supposed to be progressive), sends me right to the wall.

I assume thats for the corvette? Is that all you changed from the original setup?Theres another one, along with a viper`02 but i found they were a nightmare to keep a straight line so kept clipping the sides of the track. No fun to drive for me.The original tune was a nice drive but i dont know if the physics change would have made it worse anyway.
Vids are below, credit to the posters for putting them on YT.

I tried the lap 7 pit stopping strat and I think its probably the best vs lap 6 and lap 8.
The car managed to have rear tyres until about right before the last corner of lap 12. Just went easy on the throttle from there until the finish line.

Yes it was for the corvette zr1 19. It takes some time to get used to it with the setting but I finally manage to win in 26 minutes. Had to do 2 stops. The thing is to take your time while the track is wet.

Sick of the excessive tyre wear model in the new patch?:irked:

I found a tune to fix that issue by running RM tyres. The only change made is +1 on the front anti-roll bar to 6, that's it.
Grip wise, it's essentially the same as RS tyres imo, and didn't notice much of a difference as my lap times were the same.
The advantage with the RM's is that now I can run all the way to 8 or 9 laps before pitting to change fresh rubber and top up on fuel to sprint to the finish.
Enjoy :)
Edit: Also, running RM's seems to have removed the unwanted "wonky" handling since this patch and restored it to the previous handling characteristics pre-patch.🤔 The car feels more stable on RM's.
Great, thanks.
What are your times, FL and race time?

Great, thanks.
What are your times, FL and race time?
Before Update 1.20, I could run in the 24mins and 1:55-1:56 FL, but since the Update 1.20, my A220 has been pulling to the right for some unknown reason without touching any walls. Hit a wall and it's 10X as bad. Now, I can only manage best times on low 25mins and 1:57 FL on clean laps.
I just can't get fast times when the car is pulling to the right. :banghead:

1:57 has been my best post patch too. It’s hard to push it when you know the slightest touch gonna **** up your lap.

I don't even bother with any tuning exploits. I just use a de-tuned Lamborghini Murcielago with Sports Hard.

I didn't grind Tokyo since the first Tomahawk exploit. After about 160 online races which are getting dirtier and dirtier (SR:S) i thought i could go back to doing something more relaxed. So after Update 1.20 i came here.

After the Tomahawk i only grinded some Sardegne races to test the Gr.3 cars and did two or three 1h Spa races for fun.

To mix it up, i wanted to try Tokyo. Well the Alpine exploit with RM tires it is. **** this was a ****show! Crashed a lot, had 20 seconds of penalties a lot of damage and facing the tarmac i the wromg direction because of the psycho AI. Cursing a lot but i thought i should finish the race at least once. Cursing through the whole race and hated it. Didn't know how any of you get through it. It wasn't relaxing at all. Especially when it still was wet. Pitted lap 8.

Well. :-) It seemed to get better. 1:58 best lap and still 26:20 for the whole thing. Even a little fun at the end.

So:

I must say that I like the RM setup alot, my settings for the A220 were still from the first glitch, now used the settings above, drives alot better now indeed!
The idea of the heavy damage makes me a little carefull and not pushing 100% but still manage to get FL under 2min for the first race, pitted at end lap 9.
First 3 or 4 laps TCS 2 to 1 after that TCS 0, still a fun drive, now and then a little to early on the throttle makes you work a little to keep it clean, puddles are a b*tch still ,but I still like it, and that sound of the Alpine's wastegate....... 😁 maby the best in the game?

Car is defo more stable on RM's and the new damage model can suck my left testicle. Grazing your car's bumper on a wall at 50km/h renders your car almost undriveable smh.

I got 25.18, pitting at lap 8.
From what i could see in my runs, you get exposed to full red rear tyres less time in a lap 7 pit strat, than you do in a lap 8 pit strat.
In lap 8 pit strat I had to go almost half a circuit in full rear red until I reached the pits.
In lap 7 pit strat rear tyres went full red before the last corner of the final lap.
I sopose its possible you can get an even better time with a lap 7 pit strat.

Don't know if anyone here has done this yet but I tried the RX8 with the R26B engine and like the swapped RX7, it can go zero stop with FM1 and Sports Hard. Maybe isn't the fastest out there, I also don't know if these settings are good for everyone since I had to adapt it at first and I'm not experienced in tuning so I'm mixing it up with Praiano's R26B RX7 setting. If anyone can make it better, please share it here, it will help me learn.

Ignore the thumbnail, for some reason it doesn't save.

Haven't tried transplanting the 787B engine in the RX8 yet, but is it more stable on the straights than the RX7?
As I remember, the RX7 was a pain in the azz to control on straights as the rear wants to overtake the front end. 🤣

Praiano's settings removed that crap so it's stable now. RX8 with 787B engine but no suspension setup is a nightmare though.

Cheers mate, but even without body rigidity it was still reading 665PP. Either I can't get this tune to work or PD have patched it.
You have to slavishly copy the spec sheet. When I re-tuned my A220 post the 1.20 update, I forgot to install the racing intercooler and ended up with 700+ pp.

I cant get it to work with the RM though, upping the front arb jumprs to 747pp,still works with RS.

Just to add,i1d forgotten what an absolute blast this is to drive, fast especiallythrough the twistys and on the straight. My lap times are nothing like some of you guys but this is a little rocket.I pitted end of lap 8,which i always do,just for tyres not fuel.I had a few moments with the barriers to start with and by the end of lap 1 i was still 12th.lol.I managed to catch up th Gallo by the time he pit on lap 5 and i was off.
Like i said i cant get it to work with RM but im good to go.

Just go for it m8.
I just cracked the 24min and 1:55FL with my glitched A220 pulling right. 🤣
PS. Yes, it was a struggle. 🤣
Way faster than the Corvette ZR01 and it's 400kph top speed in the straight (1:59) ! And it needs 2 stops. But I assume it is the better we can get since the A220 is no longer available.
