Yes it was for the corvette zr1 19. It takes some time to get used to it with the setting but I finally manage to win in 26 minutes. Had to do 2 stops. The thing is to take your time while the track is wet.

I couldnt get it work with your revised settings, any pointers?

Here is the tuning I used.

Managed to get under 26:00 (25:54) with a one stop strategy at lap 7. And a ****ing 5s penalty because these bastards have no clue what a ******* blue flag is. The tyres were dead in the last corner of lap 7. FM6 and TC5.

Pre-patch I started doing laps 5 and 9 for pitting. But that was because I was focused on beating my FL time. First pit just tires and fuel and tires second pit. Fuel consumption is slightly improved post-patch (2-races only) because 1.19 I'd fuel end lap 9 and would have like 0.4-0.6 laps left. 1.20 I have 1.4-1.6 laps left when fueling.

I hate the new damage though! They did 3-major changes to it. Assigned damage prob 5x more sensitive. Made damage effect your handling MUCH more pronounced (erratic/jerky pulling whereas before you could easily compensate for the pull) and to top it all off, the make the damage last twice as long (feels like it I haven't tested or measured it). Ok, so all that being said, ok, you know what, I could drive better and be more precise, right? SIKE! They went ahead and made the car understeer at high speeds (speaking about you sweeping right hander at the 2nd overpass after the 1st s-turn!)
Yeah!!!! PD SUCKS!!!!!!!! :banghead: :irked::ouch:

I'm a bit confused.
Which car do I need ? Alpine A220 ??
Yes alpine a220.
I actually don't need to pit at all. Last race finished 25:50 and I only needed to save some fuel on last lap. RM Were at the edge but I managed to finish the race without changing them.
I think I can improve my time, but I need more practice.

Edit, I am talking Tokyo times here.

Its faster if you go with softs and pit. My best time with it is 24:47 (with a 5 sec penalty). But this was pre-patch. I'll try tomorrow some of the new setups people posted here, and will change the OP as well.

I'm certain there are faster times to be had post patch as the front/rear downforce has been maxed out with this new tune from Hyperspeed980, which has allowed the car to attack the corners with more speed. I have been trying to get the best times and managed a 24:48 with a 1:55 FL, although my A220 has been glitched(ironic) post patch with it occasionally pulling to the right even though I've not grazed or slammed into any walls.🤔 Grazing a wall at even low speeds exacerbates this issue X10. It's like as if it has a mind of its own🤣, making me do extra work on each lap. I did have different wheels(not originals) on when the 1.20 patch was installed, so dunno if that had anything to do with it? But anyways, have a crack at the new tune and see how you go m8.

PS. My tune(1X pit) with RM's will allow you to do 9 laps(max) before pitting for fresh rubber and fuel. On the RS tune the tyres wear out much quicker post 1.20 patch, making you pit 2X.

I only pit once using RS. However, I’ve just slowed down because of the damage. 25-26minutes is fast enough. Anything under 30 minutes is good. It’s not like players can actually do three 20 minute races in one hour. 1.65mil per hour is good enough. Yet, I’m still trying to figure the math of 825,000/25minutes +825,000/25minutes =1,980,000/60 minutes. I’m missing a trick here.

Just completed Tokyo with the Chaparral 2J in 24:41, fastest lap 1:56. It hits 228mph on the straightaway.

I was driving extremely conservatively, especially during the second half of the race while lapping the field, since even the slightest bump against those unpredictable AI dingalings absolutely wrecks the car's handling now. If I really nailed it i could easily knock another 10 seconds off, but the risk of penalties goes way up.

Here is the tune i developed:

image0 (5).jpeg

Notes:
  • Requires body stiffening upgrade.
  • Fuel Map 1
  • Pit after lap 6 for fuel and tires.
  • Countersteer Assist STRONG
  • Active Stability Management OFF
  • TCS 2
  • Brake Balance -3
  • I use a controller, so I can't vouch for those settings on a wheel setup.

The car becomes pretty unstable once it hits 200mph on the straightaway. You just have to keep actively correcting its path. Other than that, though, it handles really great, especially through the turns. It's really about as fast as my pre-patch tune. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to come up with a much better tune than this, but others are welcome to try! Good luck!

PS - Lap 12 was my fastest lap. The tires really don't lose any appreciable amount of grip over the 6 laps they are used, which is one nice side affect of the new tire wear physics.

Great, thanks for info. I will now wait for your results after 1.20 update.

Copy tune as pic below.
Purchase Racing Crankshaft, Medium RPM Turbo and Racing Intercooler only.
Got it,thanks al ot.I do first 2 laps on FM4,then back to FM1 and non stop until the end.The damage thing is pretty crap now,get a shunt from the ai and your hobbled for about 20 odd seconds.Im all for clean driving but this is a bit too sensitive especially when its fown to your opponents.Maybe a slight tweak with the next update?

Yeah the damage is way too sensitive. A slight graze on the wall cripples our car now.

ughhh on phone and wrote up long post with all these details and thought and due to one of the advertising scripts it randomly reloaded the page and post is gone! I’ll repost later on laptop

CCC
Yeah it doesnt work for me, just stays at 755PP
Look at the post from Max_HP near the top of this page.Copy it exactly, dont add weight red or anything apart from whats stated in the post, works a treat now on RM.I do FM6 for the first 2 laps then FM1 until end of the race,i take it a bit easy so the tyres last until the end. 👍

*Nice! I thought I lost this post when on my phone (page reloaded and it wasn't showing). I'll edit this post later with the rest of my adjustments to the RS tune!

I've spent some time trying to find a tune that can take both the RM's and RS's at the same time - not sure I will find one, but it would be perfect IMO to start of RM's, pit for gas and RS's end of lap 8 or 9.

Not sure if I saw it here or another thread, but they changed the tire wear from 9x to 12x after the update. Probably why pit strategy had to change using RS's.

I like the tune for RM's, with some modifications below, as it's a very stable drive and 1-pit stop. But I am unable to get below 1:58 on later laps and with the full aero, that might account for 50% of those elusive 2-4 seconds lower I was getting pre-patch. I find myself having to touch the brakes on turns 5 & 6 until the last 3 or so laps (especially with the mega-frustrating damage model making you overly cautious).

I still think the RS tune is the best, even with the 2-pit strategy - HOWEVER - It is definitely a larger source of frustration as it lacks consistency. Its much harder to save if you mis-time your turn and find yourself with too much speed on the wet-part of the track, compared to the RM's. It also suffers the first 4-5 laps, braking for the 1st hairpin, pulling left or right and if not corrected fast enough, you slide and can't brake enough to avoid the wall. Pre-patch I rarely received a penalty or touched the wall there, but post-patch, I've had several instances where the braking felt erratic. It seems to go away as the track dries though. This is why I would love to start RM's and finish RS's as I can get my lap time down to 1:55's the last few laps after the 2nd pitstop on RS's.

My adjustments for the tunes:
Medium’s
AR bar: 6 & 8
Dampening Compression: 29 & 31
Negative camber: 1.8 & 2.2
Toe: 0.12 & 0.30
Diff: Braking 20
Gears: 330 kmph- 5th 0.862 359; 4th 1.099 272

Softs: **While full aero has it's advantages, it saps 7-10 MPH off the main straight (usually get 207-211 MPH as race progresses) I found a balance with higher aero than the defaulted 150/150 but not 200/200 - I'll edit this later
AR bar: 6&8
Dampening 31&31
Expansion 40&40

Nice effort, thanks for sharing,

Would be awesom to use 2 different tires indeed, but i don't think it's possible to change to another compound on Tokyo while pitting?,
i thought the other were greyed out?, but i could be mistaken!,

They're grayed out because with them equipped you're >600 PP. So if I can find a tune that works regardless if RM or RS being eqipped I would definitely post it here ASAP! I thought I had it this morning with it working on RM's and was at 601.05 with RS's but then I noticed my aero's were way different, so back to the drawing board lol.

welp... here's my latest run.

total time: 24:14
best lap 1:57

No pit stops!!

Still using the same tune I posted above, but totally different race strategy:

I did Fuel Map 4 with super tall gears to save gas, and zero pit stops. I also put Brake Balance at -5 to try to save the rear tires a bit, not sure if that actually helps tire wear. Does anyone know?

The nice thing about the new tire wear model -- the ONLY nice thing about the new tire wear model -- is that the Comfort Medium tires keep basically the exact same level of grip for their entire life, right up until the moment they turn totally red and give out completely. Luckily, on this race, I can finish all 12 laps with just a smidgen of tread left on each rear tire. My final laps are actually my fastest.

I also lapped several cars a second time.

Found another glitched build, this time with the A45 AMG. However, this is with Bore Up S equipped, so unless it works without the part, a lot of you sadly won't get to try this out. Make sure you equip the widebody!
