Scumbags like this are why I created a "Punt On Sight" list.
It was the end of the first lap, and I already made it from 18th to 10th, so I liked my chances.
For no reason, this genius smashed me into a wall, that brought me to a dead stop (real smart, PD :irked:).

I was super pissed.
Of course, I chased him down, and blasted his ass right off the track.
That really didn't satisfy me, though. I let him know afterwards, that I will be punting him every time I see him.
Like @GOTMAXPOWER said, you've got to be pretty stupid to punt someone who chose Vigilante as their username.

*SR 99 race, by the way

Only one race today finishing P2 from slot 4 after two spun out. Spent the day practicing from what I learned yesterday and using third gear more.

Pretty proud of my strongest Q position yet. Would have been 16.2 but I flubbed the last turn. Slow but sure I think I'm getting better.

Did a few "B" races. Most were good. The last one was going really well until I got almost spun at turn 1 on the last lap. I was catching 6th place, I come around the 1st turn, and the person in 8th decided he wanted to try and catch 6th place (it didn't happen) so he hit me on the right, rear quarter panel and caused me to almost spin. I didn't go all the way around, but it was far enough that I came to an almost complete stop. Thankfully, those behind were WAY behind and I didn't lose any other spots. Really pissed me off. I had a good run on 6th and maybe could have caught him with the slip stream coming out of Eau Rouge. But, it is what it is. I started 13th, so finishing 8th from 15th wasn't too bad.

My other races were all pretty good, though. I only had 2 dumb penalties (1 each in 2 races) through 4 races. I knew it when they happened, and just waited on that red text to pop up. Still, I managed to finish a good bit higher than where I started. My lowest number of spots gained was 5 (finishing 10th from starting 15th). In 1 race I started 16th and finished 5th; so that was a really good 1.

Why this guy was in such a hurry that he had to get dirty I don't know, he started from P1 had a qualify time of 2:16:0, he wasn't gonna get a much better end result... I would have expected racers that can put down times like those to be less dirty, he even calls it clean afterwards 😖 How will they learn this isn't appropriate.

I'm really curious if they're ever turning the penalty system back on for GT Sport and if not, will there be sportsmanship penalties in GT7?

Not so good yesterday. I tried Spa, got send to the moon a couple times, wreckfest race. (Yet only one red rating in the room). Then I did race C and fell into no man's land again, watching the gaps grow to the car in front and behind me. I pitted lap 4 this time without changing tires, didn't make a difference. Finished with a 9 sec gap to the car in front and behind me.

It was either wreckfest or snoozefest, thus played Ghost of Tsushima instead.

Race C has been total chaos for me today, at one point 3 wide I was in the middle as both left and right took big swings at me, lol. Pitted on lap 1 in my second race as I could see chaos ahead coming onto the straight and ended up with some guy who started at the back, running at the back, deciding to still fight to the bitter end to not let me past. Sigh.

Both races, after all that, I finished where I started 6th and 7th respectively. But I guess it's the 'experience' that counts.

About to take on F1's weekly event, I expect more carnage.

It's good to be in the middle :)

That was basically every start at Mount Panorama last week on the way to T2!

I guess my DR is too high for race C, ie I suck too much in GR.4 on wide tracks. And yep, some people put far too much energy in blocking the car behind them. If a car is faster, let them by (just drive fairly, don't pull over or slow down either), draft them and check out why they are faster... You don't learn anything by blocking to the death.

Fyi. My Sunday practice lobby is this race.
I won't be able to make that one, but I'll do any midweek sessions if you do any. I'll be available for the next Sunday

Nothing like chucking this bad boy around a track for sure
This is one of my favorite cars to drive in the game. It's an absolute blast once I can get a good rhythm going in a race.

Doing good with race C (for my DR), pretty clean racing so far this week and not much to complain about. I like the track and have been having a blast punting the RCZ around it. I've always been an automatic player, but decided to try manual on a whim and I'm surprisingly a little bit faster with it. Also turned off TC and both changes have given me a quicker pace. Steadily rebuilding my DR after losing it all last couple weeks.

I'm still faster on pad, but slowly getting the hang of the wheel. Probably still a couple months before I really click with it tho.

So much more fun with it though, no?

Even though I was noticeably slower than on a pad and struggled for a little while to get up to speed just that feeling of turning the wheel and hitting the pedals adds so much enjoyment to it.

Still getting races with about half the field getting 1 min. PD really needs to do something abut this issue. I don't get it, I'd either find out why or stop playing, lots of masochists out there.

For Race A, I got a time of 0:51.366 with the BB set to -3. This is definitely different, as far as the car goes. It’s got crazy acceleration, but I sort of feel like it understeers a bit. I might be within the top 700 for my region - which is also pretty good for the last day a race is available - but I’m wondering how I could do better. For example, what BB setting is everyone else using?

You've got me beat by over a second.

And I agree with you that it understeers. Plus, even with the BB set anywhere from -5 to +5 (I've run numerous laps with the BB set at all positions), I have to brake way earlier than in any other car. The brakes are just abysmal on that thing. I keep my BB set to 0 on pretty much anything I drive in Sport Mode.

Well, I gotta say I wasn’t hopeful about enjoying Race C this week but once I finally got the hang of the track I really loved it. What a great combo! It really flows well I think.

I only had one day to learn it and race, and I spent far too long trying different cars and then again spent far too long racing with the Trophy before I finally figured out that I was instantly a half-second faster in the WRX. I was hitting high 29’s with the Trophy in race and as soon as I hopped in the WRX I started hitting mid and even a few low 2:29’s which was usually good enough for fastest lap if none of the aliens were racing. Should have tried the Subie earlier and maybe I could have flirted with a high 28. The Trophy is definitely a good race car here, I just felt like I had to drive it right on the hairy edge in order to extract pace, which means more mistakes and less consistency. In the WRX I didn’t feel like I had to come close to death on every corner to make it quick.

I did save a few races and uploaded a couple of my better results. Came very close to the leaders from the back of the pack in these. The early pit typically worked pretty well but not always, it just depends on what everyone else does.

Here’s the races. One of them I got a huge undercut and basically passed everyone in the pits, but I wanted to save it because I ran several laps in a row all within a couple tenths of each other. The other had some good battling. Fastest lap of the day for me was a 2:29.2. So close to 28!

Cheers!

You're as bad as each other there. He tried to shove his way onto the first apex, then you gave him nothing on the second, presumably expecting him to just disappear. I don't approve of his first bump, but your second move is standard poor form that a lot of people do on the bus stop to others passing clean on the outside.

I WAS having a decent day. But the race I just had ruined it. I start 6th (Race "B"), and I find myself in 3rd just after the start of the 2nd sector. I'm doing well, with some company close behind. Nothing bad, just some good racing. Then I get hit in the side as we're going into Stavelot (turn 15) and I wind up off the track to the left, spin, and come back across the track facing the wall on the right. I had the inside line, I was ahead, yet the person in 4th comes divebombing through and knocks me WAY off the podium. I fall down to 15th. I put in 2 decent laps and manage to get up to 10th. On the next lap, I'm doing battle with someone because they didn't like the fact that I passed them coming out of Eau Rouge. I don't know why people feel like they have to brake right there. Every car I've ever driven on that track (about 20 different cars in testing), I always lift a little bit just as I'm turning back to the right and I make it through just fine without going too wide to the right or left. The only time I get a penalty there is when someone decides they want to hit the brakes because they think their car won't make it and I try to avoid hitting them so I won't be the asshole that rammed someone off the track. But I'm starting to get the attitude that if you're too slow, and you're in front of me, you can either move over so I can pass, or I'll just keep going. And if you get put off the track, then you get put off the track.

On the last lap, somebody did a brake check coming out of Eau Rouge and I slammed into the back of them. That caused me to slow down enough for the person behind me to catch up to me. And I don't mean he just tapped the brakes, I mean he hit the brakes hard and I went into the back of him HARD. It knocked him forward a good bit, I slowed down, and the person behind me got right on my ass. He passed me on Kemmel, but I was able to pass him back in the 7, 8, 9 combo. He was acting like a butthead, too. I moved over on the straight so he could pass cleanly. Yet when I tried to pass him back, he wasn't having any of it.

Everyone should be on brakes earlier because the Trashcan weighs 5060 lbs!
Taycan not trashcan, dreaded autocorrect

It is definitely much more fun which is probably what gets you through the initial transition blues, ha.

I probably won't have much more time to put towards this week's races so already looking forward to next week's.

After practicing for Race C, really liking the Raybrig NSX for next week.

The Motul GTR looks faster, but it could just be better talent behind the wheel. In my hands it feels dreadful in the mid-corner. Botching my exit almost every time. Serial underqualifier after all...

Going to be doing random rolls for cars anyway, but at least the track/car knowledge is nice...

Hi, first post here for me. Long time reader but finally decided to post hehe.

I had a ton of fun this week, I only did race A because the track was short and I like electric cars, I remember a nations cup race a long time ago with the Tesla where I did well.

This week racing was very clean for the most part, I was able to get some good wins and farm some DR, the car is indeed very heavy but once you get used to it under braking it isn't so bad, to @MIE1992 I was using the brake balance at 0 and tried braking outside of the kerb into turn 1, that seemed to reduce the braking distance by a lot.

I hadn't played GT Sport in a long time so after a few weeks of practice I was very happy to be in the top 10 for this race in the region.

I had a great race early in the week with the guy in 1st place (The Kid) I saw the combined leaderboards and it turned out he had the fastest time in the world so I was happy to keep him honest there.

We had some great battles on Sunday night too, if you're reading this it was great fun!

Cheers guys, loved reading the reports and especially watching the videos.

If I run with the random car selector on Kudosprime this week, I'll be running the Raybrig NSX in C and the Evo in B. The NSX I can see being pretty good, the Evo I'm not so sure about... 🤷‍♂️

First race C and I did terrible, didn't qualify so with the slower ones and I smashed a couple who braked. So I had to stop let them recover before I went on my merry way. After lap 2 I didn't hit anyone, but made a few other mistakes. Finished about where I started at 16th and had fun, hopefully it will be clean as once I get this down it's a great combo.
