After 100R, I have a tendency to whip the wheel right and get back on the outside in order to carry plenty of speed into the hairpin. I was in a battle with someone and we were both sucked a bit to the outside of 100R and when I made myself go to the right side of the track, right before braking for the hairpin, I happened to viciously slam him off the track. I barely noticed it, though because I was still battling. I thought nothing of it.

I doubt he will see it the same way but I'll try to explain.
An apology goes.a.long way

Nah lie till it hurts lol. Always love it when people tell me, I got pushed into you, while I'm watching the instant replay and there's no one anywhere near behind them. These consoles record all the time nowadays... Just one button press to save and then ffwd to the incident before getting back into the lobby.
(On ps4 anyway, ffwd has been removed on ps5 :banghead:) and why won't the cursor go after the last emoji, go away you :banghead:

One more attempt, and then I'm going to reset to D/E, it's terrible today. 80% dirt on the track in SR.S
Nice to see you again @TPC_NosOsh you did the sensible thing, stay behind it all :/

Better last race, no need to reset yet. Only one red in that race.

Are there always the same 3 daily races? I've had the game since it came out, have only played limited online, but am now getting more into it.. and it appears the same 3 races are all we get. Are there other lobbies or tournaments I can join somewhere? Or do they rotate the daily races?

The Daily ones last for a week - Monday to Sunday then change over. I believe they used to change daily, but that was before I started playing the game

They rotate weekly
But despite there being a ton of possible combinations, PD sticks to a small sub set.

Look for the GT League thread on here for player hosted tournaments

Racing weekend afternoons are so convenient for me. It's too bad it got dirty as soon as Kie started streaming. I noticed a couple of players were desperate to get to him to race him.

In the first two races of his stream, I got taken out right on his screen twice. And that's just on his screen.

I pray for better racing this week. I wanna give the Corvette a spin.

Are these the daily races?

There's a new set every Monday. I tell people about them here (and it makes a post in this thread too):

By “red” are you referring to an SR “ding”?

If so, am I the only one that doesn’t see them?
After the race, red letter on the right. You don't get any visible dings anymore in the race but SR deductions still happen. (Only for front to back contact, -10 SR if the system finds you guilty or rather when the bump was registered and you're the one that comes off best after the contact)

OK.....so I'm confused.

I just ran a B daily. I started 2nd and finished 4th. Coming out of the hairpin (turn 1), I didn't get a clean exit and was passed. Coming up to the 2nd hairpin (just after the 1st chicane), I hit the P2 car when he braked early. He wasn't going overly fast; at least, no faster than I was at the time. But I hit him and he went off the track. I continued on, and was in 2nd for the next 3 laps. On lap 4, I got passed, different driver, when I messed up the 2nd chicane and had to brake longer than normal due to carrying too much speed through it. Down to 3rd, again.

On lap 5, the person I'd hit on lap 1 passed me in turn 1 as I braked a bit too late and ran too wide to hold the inside line. I made sure to keep my distance so I didn't hit him, again. At the 2nd chicane, I apparently cut the 1st corner and got a 1 second penalty. I checked the radar and noticed the person behind me was VERY close coming up and into the long right-hander after that chicane. But for some reason, they backed out of it and lost almost a full second by the time I was coming out of that turn. They WERE less .4 behind me going in. Coming out, the gap was up to 1.3. OK? Don't know what happened. I make it through the esses with no issues, go through the final turn, come up to the penalty zone, serve my penalty, and cross the line barely a tenth ahead of P5.

No clean race award, obviously, since I had a penalty AND I hit another driver in the rear.

So I go to check my DR to see how far it fell. Except it didn't fall.....it went up.....exactly 2200 points.

WTH?! How can my DR go up if I hit someone, knocked them off the track, AND got a penalty for cutting a corner? My SR didn't go down, either. I'm obviously glad it went up (back up into C). But I knew for sure it would go down due to those 2 things.

Literally none of those things are relevant to your DR. Only your finish position (and how your starting DR compares to the people you beat and the people who beat you) matters.

You finished fourth, making it almost entirely guaranteed you'd gain DR. It looks like you beat some higher-rated players too.

You finished 4th, it means you earn points, is that right?

It never ceases to amaze me how confused people get with DR and SR.
Can't blame them. I drove faster than ever yesterday on that track and dropped back to DR.B, I had a 1:32.5 lap yesterday.

It all matters on who you get matched with and where you finish. How well you drive has nothing to do with it. Hence dirty driving is so rewarding in this game. Plus DR below high A has little to do with people's speed on the track anymore. DR.E drivers at A+ pace and everything in between.

I was racing a low DR.B driver yesterday (not racing him per se, he started on pole with 1:31 qualifying time and did 1:31 laps in race as well) While on Saturday (when I reached DR.A) there were a couple A+ drivers without a clue on the track donating DR to those capable of staying on the track.

SR is even more confusing now there is only one way to lose SR, which is still wrong half the time. Tapping an accident is still just as likely to lose you SR as a straight up murder punt has the chance of not getting any deduction.

And below the top split room you usually get all mixed rooms, 3 types of SR, all types of DR so how is the average person going to catch on to how 'progression' works in this game

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

The first set of Gran Turismo Sport Daily Races for 2022 has arrived, bringing a fresh set of challenges for the next seven days...

My trick is to stay away from the tracks where i am a solid C

I tend to panic a bit if I get out front, ( or just during the race in general, those race butterflies are real) so I hit the wipers by accident there. When I get time to actually practice I can have a decent pace throughout the week Have to head back to work next week so I won't have the luxury anymore.

While getting some wins was great this week, my goal is aways to race as clean as possible, to generally just not ruin anyone else's race while I'm out there. But race "A" can be fun! I usually race with the same people, a lot of whom are on the Planet here and all are great, respectable and fast drives.

I recommend it, they are a great crew. So, If you are out there in race A say hi :gtpflag:
Is your psn username the same as on here? I’ll look out for you!

Taking advantage of a nice day off of work today, I jumped in this afternoon and set a time of 1:37.4XX for Race C. There's more time to gain, but I'm happy I went that quick (by my standards) so far. I have also set a goal to hit A Rank by the time GT7 comes out as I'll be full bore into that once that releases. I'm about 4k DR away from that already, but any progress I make is wiped out by my own mistakes, or the bumper cars most races turn into recently. Not the end of the world if I don't, I just something to aim for.

I want to protect my DR rating a bit, so rather than just doing a couple of qualifying laps and then racing.

When do you decide you’ve done enough qualifying and are ready to race?
Just ditch the anxiety and go race as soon as you know the track well enough to not slam into a wall because you don't know where the track turns. You'll get better with time and hold a fair and representative DR instead of just building anxiety.
