On the race dragline mentioned i hit the COD so it was a matter of circulating neatly waiting for others to hit it.

I just missing that bit of pace, o just had a very good race in am all S/A room, was squabbling in a pack from 4th to 10th and finished 9th. I'm half a second a lap too slow.

For a one off though.

Got a couple DTS races in the Alfa. 2 for 2. Qualified P2(36.965) for the first race. P1 Supra. P3 AMG GT3, P4 Beetle.
P1 brakes early at Larini. P3 cuts under me enough to nudge me a bit wide. I drop to P4 by the COD. Beetle too aggressive, dives on the AMG at final turn. Gets the spot back before T1. Beetle again, too aggressive tries to go side by side up the esses. Goes off. P5 Supra. Ives up to my rear bumper. I motor pass the AMG at Seaside hairpin.
P1 has checked out. I’m gaining time though. Until, three times my exit of the COD is too slides. Impeding by exit speed. Drop a spot in the first incident. 2nd to 3rd gear shifts are magical in the 4C. Can’t be matched. Nab P2 by taking the tight line at the exit of esses. I bolt.

Pit stops. P1 started on RS. Seven seconds ahead. I was setting PBs each lap. Pit Lap 6. I’ll just give it my all to keep building the gap behind. Come out P6 behind an RSR. That player gives me inside to pass at Seaside hairpin.
Supra is in P4 behind cars that haven’t pitted. Takes the INSIDE line before pitl entry line and two cars usher it into the pit road! Oh NO!
Lap 8. I’m gone, for the win and FL.

Race 2(same qualy). P1 & P2 Supras. P3 AMG GT3. P4 Supra. All Low 36s.
Alfa keeps me ahead with the 2nd to 3rd gear acceleration(So quick). Somehow, an F1 jumps the Supra. I know it’s not catching me in the corners. P2 & P3 scrap at final turn. I choose to bump draft the Supra. Moves me up to P3. P2 too hot into Larini hairpin. Spins on left curb. AMG tries to draft me up the esses and takes the inside line down Seaside hairpin. Alfa goes deep under brakes. Stay ahead and I pull a gap to the COD. Bounce into COD exit wall. Down to 7th I go. This is only the end of Lap 2.

P5 goes off at Larini kink. Supra ahead of me, runs an RSR wide into the gravel, at the final turn. Then, bumps the Supra in P3 and we both move up positions. Supra takes the inside down the straight. 4C accelerating past(slowly ;) ) and out brakes before The ess.
Catching the P2 AMG and the COD slide happens again. Lap 6, I pit with the leader(started on RS). AMG stays out. I exit in P6 with clear track.
I slide again and scrape the left front on the wall. Nice couple second gap behind me, so no immediate threat.
Cars pit and I’m P3. Two Supras ahead. The one that bumped players off, is P1 and pits Lap 8.

P1 is on RM and I need to be smooth at the COD exit curb. P3 is on fresh RS.
4C acceleration and tight cornering keeps me ahead by 1.5s and I’m pulling away each lap. Couple second ahead, I can see P1 struggling running a bit wide on those corner exits. Leaving puffs of tyre smoke. Two laps left and I’m gaining.

Lap 12. Larini hairpin will bite…. and it did. P1 struggling with breaking acceleration. Supra has no grip up the esses. I wait and take the tight left line at the top. Cautious at the COD with a clean exit. Supra kisses the exit curb just enough, but runs too deep at the final turn. Done and FL.

One of the most calm racing I’ve had in a long while. 55 days to go.

I love driving the "underdog" car. Seems everyone is sticking with FWD/AWD in race B but I've had some good races and a couple of wins in the M4, GT-R and NSX. The RWD are so much more fun to drive too, just enough power to break traction on slicks
Tell me about it. Everyone's running Supra and FT1 in Race C and here I am showing up in the Evo... 🤔🤪 I find that often I can only run quali in the META and I can't race them, so I fall back to something I find more drivable and I drive the pants off it.
I suck at this. I mean really. Who gets eaten by the COD on two successive laps?
Errrr.... me! Sometimes it just happens!

The end of my first week and I’ve put probably too many hours in but have seen some marked improvements. I’ve mostly been racing in the B race, I seem to be quite comfortable with it, and can consistently lap in the low 24s now. I beat my best time yesterday to 23.3 and won my second race, If I start top 4 then it seems I can often avoid trouble and challenge. My racecraft needs some major work though, if I start mid pack I nearly always fall dowm the grid, can’t deal with all the smashing about.
I’ve tried Race C 3 times and come last on each occasion. Combination of my own mistakes, not being consistently fast enough and of course getting rammed off. I did beat my best qualy time yesterday with a 38.3. I just don’t feel confident in a race on that track. Hitting the COD 12 laps without a mistake isn’t likely and I don’t have the pace to recover so even without the bombers last place is probably where I’d end up.
I did try Race A and that‘s a bit farcical. The KTM is a nightmare to handle, best lap I could muster after half an hour was a 57.5, very slow, matchmaking took about 5 minutes presumably trying to find people as slow as me and then the race itself was ok. Was comfortable in sixth and pressed the wrong bloody button on the wheel when hitting X for mirror hit O instead which is the handbrake and race over! I did try again and span out and came last. I really don’t enjoy that car or track though so don’t feel compelled to persevere like I did with B.
Hopefully next weeks races will be a little more accessible

Just me or has the meta ruined the daily races over the last few weeks? I don't recall it being as bad as it currently is, we're basically spec racing at this point and lord knows I don't want to bow down to the fictionalised superiority of a bloody Supra.
Last week’s Fuji race was definitely farcical, but Group 1 usually has a clear meta.

The Group 3 Supra has been overpowered for quite some time now. It’s been meta almost everywhere. But it’s not so strong that nothing else can compete.

Why The Supra is this good and its father, the BMW Z4 is still bad is beyond me??

Hey peeps, how is the participation in the oceanic region? Thinking of making an oceanic account

I'd say it should satisfy you enough. Usually in a Daily Race grid I'm in it would consist of mostly Japanese and Oceania players mixed with Southeast Asia players. Around 9 or 10 AM onwards here in my timezone is where the grids would start picking up and I'd say 5 PM onwards is where the grids would start packing A and A+ drivers more.

Because a Supra is basically a rebadged Z4
Quite, but that Supra is not a rebadged version of that Z4. They are literally two completely unrelated cars even before you get into the realm of making GT3 cars - which commonly share very few components, if any, with the road cars - out of them.

No I agree BOP should be better than this. People have figured out they need rotation so the top lobbies are a wall of Supra and maybe FT-1's. Nothing else with power rotates as well. The game is about to be shut down but they really need to nerf both cars a bit because anything else right now is half a second slower. .

That’s what it’s called in reverse. ;)
In forward, the CoD has a terrible reputation. It's a beast. In reverse, it's as tame as a kitten.
That, my friend, are the Four Brothers. If one brother doesn't get you, another one will.
The 4 apex curve
Fortunately, the brothers only took 2 positions away that time. Normally it gives me a piece of the wall.

The Corvette does rotate fairly well. It is my go-to when the Supra takes META. When I was qualifying for this week, the Corvette was the closest to the Supra, by about a quarter of a second.

I confess to being a tapper through the COD, unless I am in the beetle where i can just lift. But anything else, I tap the brake, really fast, to induce turn in. It costs me half a second a lap but hit the COD once and it is 15 seconds gone.

I was watching Fraga’s stream yesterday. He was running his BB in the Supra anywhere from -4 to -1 yesterday IN RACE. I’m assuming to induce turn-in.

I’ve been running the Scooby at -1 in race with no bad side effects, tire-wear wise

Might give it a try today. I need to find some speed!

Same. The only time I ever remember not lifting through the COD it was during the Gr. 2 week & I was on the RM (RH was the other option).

I tend to blip the throttle when downshifting, old habit from driving my old MGA and TR-3. Is that costing me time? (I don't have a wheel with a clutch, just the paddle shifters.)

Two races this morning at DTS, both were clean. Top split rooms with lots of A+ drivers.

The first race was the more interesting one, close racing with 2 others for half the race, swapping positions a couple times. I finished 8th or 9th in that race, in between the two Supras I was racing (in the FT-1 myself)

Second race looked like it was going to be a close race again but unfortunately an earlier crasher didn't brake on time when I went side by side into T1 in lap 3 with a car that was overtaking me on the outside. He got slightly ahead (still overlap) at the braking zone so I started braking a little early to let him go ahead. The car behind did not and bumped me into the car I was racing who ended up in the wall.

That driver did the right thing, waited for my competitor to recover, yet by the time they were going again I was 4 sec ahead. That stayed like that for the rest of the race. 4 sec gap in front and behind. Boring, just turning laps. I finished 13th in that one.

I'm not getting under 1:38 with the FT-1 in race, competing with Supras that do 1:37 laps. However by not crashing I still keep getting in with the A+ crowd (sitting at 36K DR) Overtaking wrecks, then making room for the faster cars to pass again so I can draft them for a while until I fall behind. Or just watch the gaps grow.

DTS is not bad, but I'm ready for the Nordschleife. Still 3 more sleeps, this is worse than waiting for Christmas

I thought it became the Death Of Chicanes in reverse? 😉

Hey, it’s not bad, but I didn’t coin the term. Thank GT5 Power for that. Post #62,628:)
