First daily race for a week. Started third Rammed off twice came last and 7 red S in the end out of 14 finishers.
This crap needs fixing for gt7.

What a change of car for race A, but it should make for good close racing. Slow car fast > fast car slow. I guess I will see the usual suspects at Laguna Seca, BenRod looking at you. Will give it a go on my lunch break.

Unfortunately KP wasn't on board with that and gave me FF and MR cars instead...
I ran the Lambo, the WRX, the Slophy and the McLaren, getting faster with everyone.
Then I tried the Mustang and beat my time by a second

Ha I already had that on Sarthe in the Red Bull... Need a constant flow of corners or concentration gone

I'm actually liking race B, stringing those weird corners together is very satisfying. 5 laps is just enough to recover from the idiots and short enough not to end up driving by yourself for half the race. And of course, it's the fastest offering this week

Race B was being kind to me. Managed a 1.19.9 qualy and got a couple of wins and some podiums. Upshot being that I’m now A DR, and I have to say the level of clean driving is as absent as it is in DR B. Maybe worse in the couple of races I’ve done so far!
If I have one lap where I don't get rammed off, I consider it a clean race now lol.

Record being, getting rammed off 3 times in lap 1 by 3 different Brazilians, while starting last. It's quite an achievement. People crash, then feel the need to crash you to get back at the universe

I'm liking lap 5, the one I finally get to set a decent lap time in.

People are going for moves that clearly aren’t on, the downhill chicane I’ve been punted twice and the long left in the middle sector has attracted the divers. But I’ve just done a race starting 2nd and had a really good too and fro with 1st and 3rd. We managed to hold our positions but the guy behind had so many chances to ram me and easily take 2nd. Makes such a difference when you race against clean drivers.
I have found that getting the brake point right for turn 1 when in the slipstream is tricky. Have to go much earlier so I’ve seen a few issues there with people overcooking it. Hopefully as the week goes on it’ll be a little calmer there at least.

Seems a fairly decent set of races. I did some testing for race C and the Megane Trophy seems to be the quickest. Top guys might get more out of the Alfa 4C than i managed. I did laps in Alfa, WRX, Evo, GT86, Megane & the Trophy and i was a second quicker in the Trophy.....and the tyre wear will be be non existent in it
I was completely wrong lol.....obvs the 4wd cars can take the final chicane better. I'll not post any daily race predictions from now on

I was going to not race this week because I'm not a fan of Catalunya and running courses in reverse is also not a favorite of mine. I thought I would at least make a few laps at Sardegna to see what I could do. I tried my usual of the Vantage and it did fine considering it was also my first time racing the track backwards. Then I jumped in the R.S.01, and by the end of my time with the car managed a 1:21.6XX. The only corner I'm having trouble with is the left-hander after the double apex turn but more practice should help that by the end of tomorrow. I thought the flow of the track would be bad going backwards, but I think it's actually pretty good once I turned some laps.

I think the battery charge indicator in the Fit Hybrid at race A is just for show.

I just got my best qualifying lap while the battery was showing fully depleted. Compared to my ghost lap, which began with a full charge, I saw no difference in acceleration.
I believe it's only races with fuel consumption (race C/FIA) that actually consume electric power too.

Do any of you know for a fact if that's true? At this point, it's what I'm presuming.

No. I experienced the exact same thing when testing the car out for an online series with fuel/tire use enabled, and had to drop it from the list of eligible cars as a result.

There is apparently no difference between a fully charged battery and an empty one on this car.

I've had the same result as you, so I too presume it's a fact!

I tried out race C today, the pointless stop and go race.

First in SR.A, was actually not to bad. Not a lot of ramming, still a lot of crashing and quitters. Then I gained 4 positions at the finish from 1 minute penalties, still... 5th place finish while arriving in 9th.

Next one was in low SR.S (80-89), total ram fest **** show. Embarrassing on all levels. Half the people couldn't stay on the road, the other half was ramming and punting everyone in sight. I couldn't avoid it all lap 1, got taken out with a ball of cars in the sharp left then took the stop and go end of lap 1 to get out of the mess. The rest went fine, take em on one by one and pass some in the pit. Then at the end I was in 4th, was faster than 3rd but it was a dirty blocker who also pushed me off the road when I got alongside. So 4th place finish it was.

Last in the top split, plenty A+ drivers racing this early. It was a more behaved race, still not clean but huge contrast with the 80-89 SR race. I only gained 5 positions, fast room. Nice track with the WRC but it's one of those boring "watch the split times" or total chaos races. I overtook one car, the other 4 were from a quitter, someone crashing and passing while they were on the bench.

To get a bit more action I checked out race B (twice) at SR.99. Dirty, dirty, dirty. I got out unscathed but it's just ram and push you off if you dare to make a pass. The only way to pass is to goad people into crashing themselves... (which they do a lot anyway)

I doubt it will get better during the week, usually the extra time is only spend to figure out where the best dirty moves can be made.

I stopped playing online after Interlagos week when I became a DR C and I don't want to jeopardise it with my crappy driving.

I will retire as a C/S and they will build a statue of me in Hendon.

And honestly, Catalunya is my most-hated track, it seems so fake/ unnatural with all those chicane things.

GTS has made me appreciate, more than any other title, the absolute genius of Interlagos. I haven't gone into its wiki entry yet to see its history, how it was designed and by whom, but it is truly majestic.

Weirdly Campaign > Midship Challenge is the only race where i can't seem to win on Interlagos. There's a bastard murderer AI in a Huayra '13 (I think) who appears out of bloody nowhere on lap 8 when i've had a 3s lead and beats me on the last corner.

I WILL defeat him.

Interlagos is a great circuit. I have had plenty amazing races there in the Alfa 4C when we still had penalties. Nowadays I steer clear of that track. No point with people hitting you and cutting the first part, to do it again throughout the track.

It was one of the tracks I took the effort to create a 'clean race chart' from the back

This was when any touch of a car meant no CRB, all 100% contact free and in top splits, SR 99.
(That toxic green one is the Megane Trophy  17th)

That was October 25th 2019, how the game has changed ugh.

I just want to race. It’s such a shame. Need to look into leagues or something I think.
Look up SNAIL, its right here on GTPlanet, its been running non stop since 2012 back on GT5. Its all spec racing, 6 15 minutes races, 3 combo, 1 normal race and 1 reverse race per combo. I race a lot in the daily races but once a week its refreshing to have some good clean racing.

Had a go in race C in what I presume is top split room for America server. Fun races, encountered two very clean Bresilian racers. I can’t quite get a win yet, with 2nd and 3rd to date. I need to try to pit on the end of lap 9.

I could throw up, today's race day was a nightmare and it showed me again how bad people are in general, online players in particular and Exempt Rambos in GTS in particular. I'm fed up with guys like that. There are a few riders who are really fair and fighting for places without even touching them is a dream. But unfortunately, in the C Race, the other almost exclusively WRX drivers, who are not really good, but take every opportunity to drive into the car, cut and push, predominate. I wish I could meet someone like that out on the street.

I sincerely hope that the GT7 has a far better penalty system, significant damage to the vehicle that is extremely expensive, a penalty system that reduces vehicle performance or that deducts ingame currency that is difficult to obtain from the player account after the race would be a good one in my opinion Step.

Absolutely gutted. Managed to better my Q time by 0.4s, got into a race C sitting in 5th after 5 laps starting 13th, as I come into the pits the baby monitor on the table lights up and my son starts screaming his head off. Abandon the race and lose another 1300 DR. No idea why I bother trying on this game anymore! 🤦
