Rather unfortunate I can’t drive the supra for toffee! I was out slip stream range by t1, shocked at the speed difference. Not that it mattered, what with getting rammed off. Maybe they were annoyed with me for picking a slow car 🙄

Indeed. That's what I thought when I saw the footage. It's o.k. for Sophy to use those lines but it shouldn't brake and make the corner whilst on the grass. That's cheating.

I hope I did not ruin your race at all. What was your PSN as there was a few good battles there. Most of the race I was dealing with a Spaniard in the Atenza. I was faster but he could slip me easy once past. He was mostly clean though with only one nudge I wasn't happy with. I don't remember a VW, but it was a Spaniard in a Slophy that annoyed with with a divebomb costing me 2 places on the last lap.
You were perfect around me :)

The advantage the AI has is that it can brake on the bit of tarmac there on the right just before the corner. AI can go on/off on the brakes exactly when the asphalt is beneath the car. Technically not cheating, physics wise, yet a human could never consistently reproduce that. Where the AI 'cheats' is not having to deal with the limits of human vision and response time.

Anyway, 2 wheels inside the white lines? Why are the track limits so bad overall...

I almost never race the supra, TC1 is not enough for me to press and TC2 is way, way too intrusive. I use the FT-1 whenever the track demands something that can negotiate a lot of sweeping corners.

I like the FT1 a lot. But it does feel slow on the straights. If I can get 37.2 I’ll be happy I think. I do struggle with the COD. I couldn’t use my faithful weekly track guides this week as well which threw me off ad everyone has gone with the supra

Well I will say this is the best race that i've done, I'm really good at DT Seaside so I'm glad PD chose this for the B race. I haven't tried the C one yet. I'm surprised that the Corvette Gr. 3 car won which I didn't think was that fast. So I started from 11th so I gained 5 positions which made me happy! Making some progress.

However I was not pleased about this a week ago, I struggled on this track during the qualifying time trial. The first half always gets me, I'll lose a few seconds somewhere.

Corvette is always a good choice when you want decent top end speed.
AMG is also a sleeper here. Felt really good and has good speed too.

I have probably run the AMG more than most here but lately it just has not had the top end needed t compete in A rooms. It is not agile enough to make up for that lack of top end. What it does do well is scoot out of exits but it struggles through the esses and runs pout of legs half way down the straight.

Last time this combination came up I was in the b room and there was loads of variety, in A it’s almost exclusively supra. Maybe one or two at most that aren’t
Yeah 'cos i'd say seaside is the most competitive track in A rooms, guys are blindingly fast. If I get COD right I am pretty quick but simply cannot compete in the top split. The supra is both agile and fast and that is what you need at seaside.

Here's one from a while back, it is really good racing and I do well defending but you can see I fundamentally just DO NOT have the pace these guys have.

Game has surely reached an all time low in terms of player interaction. I was going to call it driving but that would be insulting to drivers.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I refuse to shell out £60 in the hope that the penalty situation is resolved in GT7.

I look forward to your reports on Friday.

Difference between A and B rooms then. I was flying in it yesterday.

As demonstrated in my video last week, if you want top end, you want the Mustang. But you have to learn how to tame the wild stallion. The low speed exit out of tight turns (The Snorkel) can cause a spin.

Race B is a honey pot. Fastest grouping of cars and a track that everyone is familiar with. Expect very close matching.

I noticed yesterday I had a top 100 time in Race A and C. That's not normal. Definitely due to less players rated higher than me.

Honestly, I've had clean races for the last couple of weeks. Sure, there is the occasional punt but for the most part it seems accidental than malicious.

Could be region dependent though. I'm mostly racing with the Japanese. Some Aussie/NZ too and a few other Asian countries. Might be better etiquette out this ways.

@Famine , or anyone else who may know how to find it. Do you know what the Daily Race combos were on the week of April 20th, 2019?? That was the very first ever DRWF, and we are trying to figure out what those combos were, so we can possibly use them again for the final races on GTS. Thanks very much in advance!! 🍻

I've dated all of the Daily Race articles for a while now, so if you just type in "https://www.gtplanet.net/gt-sport-daily-races-" and the date in YYYYMMDD format, you should be able to find any of them.

April 20th 2019 was a Saturday, so you're most likely after the race that started that Monday, the 15th:

Thank you very much my good Sir!! 🍻

I've actually found Race C to be pretty enjoyable, lots of good close racing, most drivers have been hard but clean (most of the time). I defo found that spending a good while setting a time helped, did 20 laps in Atenza, 20 in WRX, 20 in Evo.....was fastest in Evo 2.27.1 which put me in some top split races, which is a bit novelty for me. Found it pretty daunting but gave as good as i got. Gained 5000 dr today.

Nice quali time! A enjoyed Race C a lot. Have you tried it in the Megane Trophy?

That is a searing qualy time, I topped out at 28.7 and thought it was a good time but man, in the top splits that outs me 10th of 13 qualifiers :grumpy: I set my best time in the WRX but I tell ya what, the Mustang isn't bad at all, it rides the kerbs really well.

I am not a fan of the track, you know what it feels like? It feels like a really good track run backwards for some stupid reason. Just awkward, exits close off instead of open, you always feel pinched through corners etc, pretty joyless tbh. Just run it the right way for god's sake.

I may switch the seaside because race C, not sure I have the race pace on used rubber to run with the crowd. Lost 2K DR in one race alone.

Only part of the combined track is backwards. Miyabi is going in its normal direction. 👍

Finding DTS quite violent, first race I qualified 5th and was punted off off at the end of the uphill section. Ended 12th.

Second one punted off just before CoD.

How do you guys stop this - brake in anticipation? Penalties are non existent.

I preferred it as a 'Race C', was a bit more sedate when it was 12 laps and people were thinking about tyres and strategy.

You can't stop it really other than trying to slam on the brakes when/if you see it coming. Fingers crossed it's been pretty clean for me in SR S.

I'm the same, wheel spinning like crazy when applying any sort of acceleration on a bend

Apparently it's best to short shift the Supra, reduces wheel spin and makes it more stable. The track guide I watched, he used 3rd gear for all the tight corners, and was always changing gear the moment the tacho changes from red.
