Persevered with the Supra today. Felt a bit better once you get into the habit of short shifting. Even an untidy lap is quicker than laps I feel like I’ve nailed in the FT1. Best I could do was 1.37.291. But in reality my average lap is nearer 38. Which would be ok but I’m not having much success with the COD in the supra. I literally can’t string 5 laps together without crashing there! Doesn’t bode well to race with it.

That's an awesome time, I'm 1:42

My friend, don't worry about you, I'm currently experiencing in my races that "our" speed is usually enough. It's really more important not to get stuck in the "chickane of death" in any round. Rather a 1/4 second slower per lap, but clean.

At least in my races there so far. Whereby they are often still quite unclean.

Unfortunately it’s not enough. Not even close. That qualy time saw me start dead last and I came 13th only due to other people crashing. I didn’t get close to anyone. Two races have seen me lose 2k DR.

This is true, I ran a 1.37.5 in the FT-1 and I qualify near last in the top splits and simply cannot keep up, they just vanish over the horizon and I pick up the crumbs with folks taking each other out of hitting the COD. Never ceases to maze me that EVERY race guys take each other out trying to do 2 wide through the first left/right uphill complex. Either pass on the way in or on the way out, don't go 2 wide.

I tried the Supra and just cannot get through the COD even if I lift. In the FT-1, I am getting to the second timing marker very regularly at 1.03.6 which I feel is pretty good but i lose a LOT of time through the COD as I have to lift.

Nik I think you need to give the FT-1 another shot, it is very, very good through the esses both turns 2/3 and the massive long esses at the beginning of sector 2. In the past I have raced the Beetle which is slow everywhere except the COD where it's a beast.

I think I must be doing a carbon copy of your laps! I also got a 37.5 in the ft1 and on a good lap hitting sector 2 at 103.6. I’ve never been good at the COD so have to lift in all cars. I can get a better time with the supra due to how much you gain in the straights but it’s a horrible car to drive. Feels bogged down, short shifting is annoying and the bonnet is enormous and obstructive with roof cam.
It’s a really dirty race anyway with only 4 laps. Probably best out of it. I am looking forward to gt7 as I’ll have something to do when the dailies aren’t working for me.

Ohh that Sounds hard, Sorry Bro.
My Races works ok for me, unless you meet Players Like "Buttom2020".

Btw. I follow you....

I am half a SECOND UP ON YOU IN SECTOR ONE BUT YOUMAKE A LOT BACK SECTOR 3. Sorry caps.

Are you guys telling me that some you can go through the COD without lifting...at all? That is crazy.
I can in the beetle but you will need to do it in a faster car to get into the low 37's or ideally 36's.
Can you change the tyres to medium to qualify with supra?
It's the only racing tyre you can use.

I was able to get the Mustang to turn with a quick lift off of the throttle. It's the fastest speed I've seen me run through the chicane in any Gr. 3 car. Doesn't make it the best, but it worked for me

I can seemingly do okay if I can nab a reasonably high starting position (and if I can keep from getting punted off by those following and keep from binning myself!).View attachment 1117123

Fun night at seaside. Decided to give the beetle a whirl and ran 5 races, all top split starting p13 to p15. I never once hit the COD and picked up 3 to 6 places every time by just being consistent and nabbing the odd pass. Managed to maintain my DR anyways which is a good effort in this company.

This was the pick of the battles, other guy had one of the all time great liveries.

Nice Car Desing, i love KinderRiegel :P

But i dont like the Beetle ( i think i´m to stupid to understand this Car ), that Car is awesome on the Brake, but i cant find the top Brakepoints for it.

Only part of the combined track is backwards. Miyabi is going in its normal direction. 👍
I raced you on Thursday, where you finished P2, just pipping me on the line after starting from the back, lol (I was the red WRX).

It was a fun race, but I bottled it in the last esses, and you had far more pace than me, anyway. Sorry if I got in your way, because (as a 61 year-old) I can be a bit erratic.

Damn my first few days back into GT after months away…

DTS (ie Beetle vs Supra) is one of my favourites, so all good there.

I like an occasional Race A, set an okay 1:55.9 time, tried two races and both times got punted or spun! It’s a total barge fest!

EDIT: Okay, 3rd time lucky, start on pole and just run away from the carnage!
