Tried a Race A. Half the grid was racing. The other half were just there to revenge punt.

I got targeted at least twice, both times I was bumped around by someone else. They take me out while the people they probably were after finish up top. So stupid.

Since I love me some Gr.2 racing, Race C is for me this week. Currently sitting at a 1:12.9XX with an optimal of 1:12.3XX. I know where I can make up time and I just need some more laps of practice. Considering it’s my first time at the track with this type of car, I think it’s pretty good. I need to keep the tires off the smaller kerbs as that gets the car upset and going off track easily. Some small adjustments with my lines will change that.

Good evening friends,

I looked forward to Big Willow all day. I entered up and ran two fun races without qualifying in the Mustang.
In my third entry there was an A plus ahead of me in fourteenth and a streamer sitting on pole.
Lap two the A plus ahead of me bodyslammed another Renault (he was in Renault, like everyone, come on people, there’s other cars…)
So after they bodyslammed I cleanly passed on the inside approaching the last turn.
I cleared him easily, but now we have an A PLUS in a META CAR who has been passed by a lowly Mustang (me)
He started ramming in turn two-I held him off for a lap then he used my car as brakes on the tricky downhill left leading onto the kinda back straight.

I turned off the game. I used to try to fight against people like that, but now I turn it off.
Also the streamer in first got punted off to tenth final turn by a Brazilian Renault.
I might try again later this week but it’s the same story every time I try anymore-no penalties no damage no sr downs-no consequences….

Got two race C’s in today. Group 2 is always a favorite of mine. One of my favorite combos is GR.2 at either DTS or Fuji. But I think this combo with Sardegna might be my new fav. Haven’t spun a whole lot of practice laps yet so I still have gobs of time to find. But I’m really liking the technical layout. Funny how some say this course lacks flow, but I find it a whole lotta fun with decent flow and lots of passing opportunities.

Different strokes for different folks I guess

Spent last night turning laps at Willow Springs to get the best time I could manage. Tried the RS.01 first, to see what I could do, then followed it up with the Ford GT, Corvette, and the Viper.

My times so far:
  1. RS.01 : 1:12.266
  2. Corvette : 1:12.323
  3. Viper : 1:12:792
  4. Ford GT: 1:12:998
The RS.01 felt on point the whole time, only getting very slightly twitchy around T4. I found it really hard to get the line through there right, and I'm sure I can make up some time there with some practice.

A friend put together this livery for the Ford GT for me, as I was thinking this would be my car for the week - then I drove it and decided that might not be the best idea! It's so wide I kept dipping a wheel in the dirt, and we all know how that ends around here! Such an unforgiving track! Anyway, here's a lap replay...

Then I jumped into the Corvette which I've liveried up based on an AR Visual concept for a C8 hill climb car, and found this to be such a planted, reliable car. I was able to push really hard in this, and ended up with a lap time really close to my current best. A replay of my best lap...

Then I jumped into the Viper, which was pretty quick, but not as stable as the Corvette. I even managed to roll it at one point!

Only one car left to try: the Mustang. That'll be tonight's drive...

EDIT: Sticking with the American cars for this race. I only tried the RS.01 because it had the top time when I looked and I like driving it. ;)

I didn't participate in any race last night to focus more on practice. I'm using the NSX and the track truly is fun and technical. One has to be careful applying the throttle when exiting the corner.

I'm not sure if I can push my lap time further into the 1:12s but who knows.

Majority RS01s in my race. No qualy, just sit back and wait. No attempts to pass anyone.

Same here. Started last. Drop back when I see 4 cars battling. Somoeone is going to lose.
Again, if someone ahead of you is getting or been loose, give them a chance to recover. So many people just pounce. I feel, if you show the driver ahead, that you're not all out for the pass, at any cost, there's a bit less blocking which would slow you both down.

Edit: Used the 4C in my alt and set a 1:11.860. It's glued to the road. Tough little car.
Edit2: Dropped it down to 1:11.544

Had a few races at Maggiore last night. Mostly good. I did manage possibly my best overtake in ages...

Sadly, that was the high point of that race - I went deep into that same corner on the next lap, allowing the Blue Scirocco past. Then the black one nudged me onto the grass right at the moment the car is most unsettled before the second last corner. I was last by the time I skidded to a stop, got reset and punted again while getting up to speed in the last corner.

Did only 2 Daily Race Bs today because I spent the whole day improving my lap until I managed to get a 1:10.6 which should give me good starting positions for the whole week.

I decided to alternate between the RS01 and the GR Supra just to get a better understanding of both cars around Willow Springs. First session I used the Supra and had to deal with 3 RS01s behind me for 5 laps and during the race while I'm able to defend my position, they seem to make up the lost gap on the Rabbits Ear portion of the track despite the Supra's power advantage but in the end it kept me on the edge of my seat and got a win.

Second session I used the RS01 next and started on P3 and that's where I'm starting to understand the car's performance and its potential around the track while at the same time gained a position thanks to the P2 sitter not having a good time using the RS01 and just like the last race, I had another battle for a position and it was something until the end where I managed to fend off the other RS01 users behind and finish P2. A good day overall.

Also I love the replay scenes on Willow Springs coupled with the sunset setting. Here are replay scenes that I took in those two sessions.

Suffered Sunday night and yesterday with the effects of my 2nd vaccine. However I managed to get on to do 3 races in the evening as I was feeling a little better.

Race B first.
Time was running out so I jumped into the Beetle as it is a good allrounder. Had time for 1 lap. The car felt good.
But with the lack of practice I was starting 15th. This was a race of keeping it on the track which I did. Came across the line in 8th.

Race C.
I love the class and the track. What's not to love about this combo?
Put in a couple of laps which was good enough for an 8th place grid slot with a 01:12.3
Went down the middle with a 7M7S as I did not know much of the strats for the race. I kept getting the bowl hairpin wrong and even almost spun there once. Otherwise a good race and came home 8th. Could have had a few places higher though. Somehow I have lost 2SR for nothing. Not sure what happened to cause that.
Surprised I wasn't the only Megane.
It was the only FF to avoid a nerf hence why everyone is using it.

Race A.
Good combo. 9th on the grid. Got a good start and hugged the inside into turn 1. After 4 laps I was up 5th or 6th. I accidentally put someone in the final turn wall. I made sure to apologise after the race.
A Hungarian Danny Devito (I think his name was similar) got a wall penalty. I pass him as he serves. His car is ghosted but as I go through I hear the crunch noise play. However neither car was effected. Coming into the penultimate hairpin and Danny punts me into the wall. Not only that but the walls are lava here and I get a further 1.5 seconds. I finish DFL in 11th.
I obviously call him out. It appears he has annoyed another Brit as he is taunting both of us. He calls us both Brexiteers and laughs. 1) I'm not sure how one's potential political stance is enough for a random punt.
2) I mean Brexit gets a lot of unfair blame but this takes the biscuit.
He's lucky B is the most populated group. I have yet to meet someone on my list again after they are added.
Another -15 SR also simply for being punted into a wall. Just holding onto S.

Tried Race B again. Started 2nd/ finished 3rd.

Decent race. But connection was bad. Recently, I can only get max. yellow. 2 cars ahead of me disconnected before the start. A few others with 1 bar.

I managed to get my qualifying time down to a 1:12.3XX for Race C and that seems to be my skill limit right now. My times are consistent at least and that’s good enough for me. I’m looking forward to some races tomorrow and hoping the dirty driving isn’t too bad.

That sucks about everyone using the Megane again. It was the META FF at the start of GT Sport, while I used the Scirocco. Then, the TT was the META and RCZ. Recently, the Scirocco. Took 4 years to return full circle.
Guess I'll jump back in the Scirocco.

IOTW time. @Redneckchef & @Trone_Colby got clips in.

That driver Matias... is a troll of the game. He is an argentinian with USA account

I did some races at willows with Evo, 458, Citroen and NSX
QT with Citroen 1:10.808. Just one victory with Evo and some podiums with 458. Other cars, nothing, only accidents.
No. I will not use Renault, Supra or GT-R

Love these cars. Was 19/19, but two cars checked out during warm up.

Edit: Really messed up by qualifying. All I wanted to do was test the GT-R before the race. Got caught up in the moment and crossed the line. Hate when that happens.

Totally surprised by this one. Thought there'd be more defending.
