DA's Super GT Series|PURE Spec 1.0|Last Round 4/14

It's real fun.

You speak the truth sir.

Edit: Actually its only fun when there's enough people in each class or enough people total. Until we can run 16 drivers, or more specifically the online bugs are fixed, I'll keep it as a gt500 series. When there can be 14 or more drivers and no worries, then I'll have a mixed class series.

yes running both classes are a blast, but we would only have 3 of us running 300's:sly:

besides it's a lot harder trying to run these damn GT500's anyways, at least for me it is :dunce:

I was contemplating running 300's but I have a soft spot for the Arta NSX. If JT runs another Super GT series then I'll be in either the Arta NSX or Arta Garaiya. I love mid engine cars.

Hey, do you have a link to the balancing of the 300's? Just curious how PURE has them set.

I'll see if I can post the pic in here or forward the pm they sent me. Best bet is to pm Denilson or Wardez because I can't copy/paste the info they sent me with my phone.

Anyone feel like getting some practice runs in tonight? If so, what is the best time for everyone? EST that is...

I'll be logging on around 10 est. I gotta study a bunch but I'll tire out and be ready for some wheel time by then.

With new SuperGT regs hitting soon, I wonder if a rethink to the specs we run could be in order. GT300's are said to make over 400-450hp now with GT500's around 550hp. Also GT3 cars are allowed in GT300 with higher hp (~500) but a bit heavier (1200-1250kg). Not sure if that will go down well with your 'pure' designation but this has been on my mind.

SuperGT thread at ten-tenths.com is a good place to keep up with the latest info. Funny thing is we'll see a Prius and a CR-Z in GT300 this year! Kaz ahead of the trend!

I haven't heard about that. I wish PD would revamp the entire tire model. Makes no sense to me at all. No matter what combo i try or the amount of laps i try to complete out of a set, the softs always end up being quicker and the better choice in the long run.

We probably wont see any of those cars til GT6. I imagine those cars in Super GT cars aren't FF.

We won't be changing any regs in this series. My plan is to keep everything as is for the season unless the PURE guys feel there needs to be a change.

I dislike the fact that the fastest strategy is softs...no matter the distance. Haven't encountered where any other strategy works better.

There's nothing wrong with a faster lower-class.

We'll look into it. But the PURE reg's for GT500 championships will stay the same pretty much, with only slight tweaks being brought in in the future.

If we create mixed class standard spec. it'll probably be based on 2012/2013 Super GT regulations.

Off topic, Sony has released a new firmware. So you guys may want to turn your PS3 on early if you plan on jumping on later tonight.

Wasn't the case for me at Trial Mountain. I normally run all softs and just deal with the extra time in the pits, but had I done that this time I would have needed to stop 5 times, and the 1.3 seconds a lap wouldn't have made up to extra 1 min. in pitlane.

Seems like you were burning those tires like nobodies business.

I can use mediums to good effect on long fast tracks. Spa was one of them, Tokyo might be doable. Start with softs then switch to mediums or the opposite. Not sure yet.

Softs last me 8 laps at Tokyo so that's what I'll run. A different strategy may work at La Sarthe or Spa since they're long races.

anyone practicing online tonight?
I need help trying to figure out why I cannot break the 1:39 barrier on Tokyo 246

I can run with you tonight. What is your traction control set at? I noticed the other night you had it set at 5. That will slow you down.

Lol there's a max of 2 allowed for traction control anyways.

Turn one can gain you a lot of speed, try to set your gearing to allow you to take it in low 3rd gear.

I didn't change my gearing but I do take it in low 3rd gear.
