Young blonde lady in one of the greatest big Ferraris?

If you see her again, follow her and find her address. Then PM me it.

Thankyou.

Oooooh no! The 550s starting to show its age... That back half is falling off the end of the outdated cliff into the heap of 355s and older! Yet somehow, the 456 is still just barely holding on with its fingernails.

The 456 looks like a Camry. The 550 is so noticeable on the road. Its successor is the greatest recent Ferrari built. Spectacular cars, the Maranellos.

I think we've had this discussion before, Doug. I don't think the 456 was ever meant to be more than Ferrari's Camry. I love both 456 and 550, but man I just love the subtleness of the 456 that the very rare times I see one, I drop everything. The sound of that exhaust is totally mouthwattering too.

That hurts. I like the 456. :guilty:

Before seeing one, I had CONVINCED myself that the 456 was to be my first Ferrari, and I would accept nothing less, since it was so beautiful.

Then I saw one.

Let's just say I'll own a 456 when hell freezes over.

Then they succeeded quite nicely.

I like the 612 a lot better.

DB9 Convertible, after taking the photo I sped up and gave him the thumbs up he smile and nodded then dropped the hammer for me. Car sounded awesome!

I believe I may have lost all respect for you. Sure, the 456 may be kinda boring (though I disagree), but the 612? Eeeewww.

Ugly or not, it's an unbelievable touring car. Everyone says the same thing: experience it then judge. I'm yet to experience it, but I've based my judgements on the opinions of those who have.

So is an Aston Martin DB9, and that doesn't look like an old Corvette someone took a bat to. I'd rather just spend the extra money for a 599.

the 456 looks like a 550 to me, always get them confused...has anyone spotted a 288 GTO yet? I'm playing test drive unlimited atm and what a beautiful car...my fav ferrari for now.

Good luck getting on the list - I have a friend down at my local Ferrari dealer who's also a car nut - I asked him point blank if I had the cash could I get a 599 and he said 'no chance.' However, he said 'you can have a 612 whenever you want. Including tomorrow.' Plus, I can spec it however I want. There's something to be said for that, especially as 599s are still trading north of $450,000.

I hear 456s aren't all that reliable. Clarkson agress.

Valve guides/automatic tranny. Another reason not to buy the 456.

Then I would walk out laughing and buy a 512TR. And a house.

They didn't all come with 4 speeds, you know.

Over a 612? Wow. I don't think they're really comparable - the 612, while ugly, is the grand tourer of grand tourers... the 512TR is a Diablo competitor. Rough, fast, wide.

They all came with valve guide issues!

Well, I'm certainly not going to buy a 412 Automatic, if that is what you are implying...
He's on to me!

So did the 550 and 355. And I would jump at either of them anyways.

I wonder what year that one is, it looks newer, like a 90's one.

New Zealand stopped the black number plates in 1986. According to the LTSA they issued the JH, JK, JL, JO, JP, JQ, JR, JS, JW and JX prefixes during 1980 . So it must have been registered, I would guess, around March/April 1980.

Must be your dealer then. Boardwalk will offer one if you're willing to pay $50K+ over sticker.

Yeah....I'd appreciate it if you didn't make it seem like I made a post I didn't actually type. I thought my account might have been hacked for a second.

:D

Which would you rather have - 412 or 612? Imagine each took the same chunk out of your paycheck. (not each cost the same, mind you)

The 550 does not have that issue chronically.

Can you prove that?

Yeah....I'd appreciate it if you didn't make it seem like I made a post I didn't actually type. I thought my account might have been hacked for a second.

Huh??

Oh, Keef said that. I got it wrong... no need to be snippy about it, darling.

You're just going to have rely on the dealer's word as I obviously don't have the cash to see if he's telling the truth. The only place I've heard similar was 2 months ago on FChat by an interested buyer who was told his best bet is a used one. But all it does is supposedly put you on the list.

That's fine, then. :)
