There are so many supercars there are bound to be big differences in performance. Ideally the supercars should probably be split into two groups otherwise you need to know them and try to make fair match ups. I've driven all the supercars extensively on one course and over a 50 second lap the difference between fastest and slowest is about 4 seconds! You could have had an even bigger mismatch against say the RS01 or the quicker Caterham!!

The super class especially is a tricky one to leave free choice in private lobbies.A 40 car roster with quite a wide spectrum of handling and performance can easily leave some of the lobby with a choice that gives them a big disadvantage over the chosen course.I think unless you have already chosen a few cars in chat the safe option is let the host pick the car.The upside is that this variation can lead to some excellent contrasts where a less powerful but more nimble car can make up any ground it lost on the straights as soon as it hits the twisty stuff. You can also stick any ninja players in a less competitive vehicle to give a less experienced driver a fairer race.

Owe you big time, thanks buddy  will send them when I get back from Uni in a bit.
No worries. I will say that I have to go to work almost three hours from this post, so if you aren't back soon, you'd best slap a 24 hour limit on them ( I won't be back until 01:00 GMT)

Can't thank you enough, I've sent 6 as one was a bit long.

If you ever need anyhelp in anything I'm there.

Lets see if I can remember all of em.

You have the choice of cars, tracks, time, weather, the usual.
As a host, you can also choose what class of cars you can use, or make it a free choice. You can also choose the number of laps, amount of time to choose car and to end the race, and the severity of penalties and collisions.

Can you turn voice chat on & off for the whole lobby?

Is there text chat?

Can you disable penalties entirely?

Can you set up qually?

Is there reverse grid, race based on last results etc?

Can you still kick a player?

Hello. I am just getting started with DriveClub. I have previously only ever played Gran Turismo. How does DriveClub compare to GT6? Which parts of DriveClub should I concentrate on to progress? Can I make reasonable with just a PS4 standard controller? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys
MC

Hey MC, Driveclub is more arcade-y than Granturismo and a lot more forgiving but very challenging.

I have a wheel but never use it with the game to be honest I prefer the DS4, but that's just me.

Game plays fantastic with a DualShock 4.

I'd say ignore the misleadingly named 'Startline Tour' and start with the main one and come back to it later on as they are events from the various DLC tour packs, so you will suddenly have weather to contend with - just work your way through it and don't forget to have fun. As has already been said, the DS4 is well catered for with DC.

Oh yes - one other thing: get the season pass for a mountain of DLC.

There's no text chat, voice chat, if enabled, still works.
Penalties can be disabled fully.
There's no qualifying session.
No reverse grid, the option is only limited to the order you have in the lobby, or make it random.
Yes, you can kick players from a lobby if you are the host.

Driveclub (DC) is much more arcade oriented than Gran Turismo. A huge difference you may have to deal with is the fact that DC doesn't give you the chance to tweak your cars. You drive what the game gives to you.

As you asked about progression, take your time. Start the main tour and make your progress from there as the game will lead you to drive from the low tier cars to the fastest ones through a series of events. So you get the chance to get used to its physics.

Join a club in order to unlock some cars.

Buying the season pass is a must. You'll get tons of content for a reasonable price.

IDK why would you disable penalties in this game.

Because in real life run off areas are there so you can run off onto them after making a mistake & still carry on racing, you don't get penalised for it. Having them on in a game makes the racing unrealistic. Also, gentlemanly drivers drive clean & therefore don't need fantasy penalty systems.

I always had penalties off in Gran Turismo & hosted a multitude of clean lobbies, & 99% of the time just asking people to drive clean & respectfully made sure they did.

I'm close to getting the second platinum on Driveclub for the bikes DLC. I notice one of the trophies is for 'sending a challenge to 10 people'. I tried this and didn't get the trophy...do you need 10 people to compete in order to get the trophy?

It might require you to be online at the time of the challenges' expiry - that wasn't a requirement for the car version, but it helped a good few people to get the trophy.

Meanwhile, concerning another anomaly - has anyone else experienced problems with posting to DriveClub's Twitter page. I've been getting an 'Internal Server Error' message for over 24 hours now.

Seems a bit random then, as I posted up ten this morning and got nothing - maybe some of the ones I posted too haven't got the bikes yet.
It was 1 challenge sent to 10 people. I just used 8 from suggested, you and our club owner.

Platinum hunt update: got the clean racing accolade yesterday after a small grind.

one accolade left (the time trial participation one).
