If you have PCars, try controller in telemerty HUD in game. You can see, how every analog reacts.

I have a question if someone has played recently do you get sometimes the cars to steer left for a slight second all byitself sometimes?

I use motion control steering (though I'm starting to experiment with left stick again, as I actually am slightly faster that way) and the last few days I've noticed that steering sometimes doesn't respond, acts sluggish or even turns opposite in the first race of a session. So far I've fixed this by going into the settings and choosing left stick and then back a moment later to switch to motion controls again, after which it works fine for the rest of the session.

Never seen anything like this before - not sure if there have been any recent DriveClub patches, since I've been taking a long break (back and getting ready for DriveClub VR now). Otherwise I'm wondering if perhaps it could be an issue with the 4.00 firmware update.

Will try switching to see if it works, I think it was an old issue but only got around to asking now.

Will try, thanks Jim.
There have been very few times where my Dualshock 4's act up. I have 4 of them, and it isn't specific to a single one. Fortunately it doesn't happen in racing games. Basically the game would just have the character or whatever twirl around without any input and then it'd fix itself or turning the controller on and off would fix it.

You can try resetting the controller with a pin. Just google it. There's a hole on the back of the dualshock somewhere!

Ok lets go into a parallel universe where Evolution Studios wasn't shut down and they just announced DC2, Would you want DC 2 to be a open world game or closed circuit racer

Could Codies please just fund a DC2? Under a different name of course. I'd love to see where Evo could take a sequel.

With so many great albums coming out on vinyl (Random Access Memories, while(1<2), etc), I really want a record player now. :|

Mad thing is, the pressing announcement appeared on Twitter ages ago - something like April - but nothing about release until now. Maybe it got lost in the post Evo close-down chatter.

Still, my record player has long since diminished and gone into the west. So as I don't trust the cheap-offer decks appearing in supermarkets recently, I probably won't be getting this one.

pre ordered Driveclub VR €29,95 for a hard copy version. I think the price should be €39,95 therefor booked the order at this webshop (Coolblue.nl)

And the digital upgrade if you already own Driveclub+season pass is $19,99 / €19,99

Tried Driveclub VR today, it's pretty good but to be honest visually not very impressive and the PSVR isn't anything special either.

Are you comparing to Rift or Vive or are you just unimpressed by VR in general? Pretty much every one of the many recent previews and YouTube opinions of DriveClub VR - and a good bunch of other PSVR titles too, along with the PSVR in general in terms of comfort and image clarity relative to the PC options - seem to rave about the experience (and it sounds like the experience is awesome enough that they rarely bother to nitpick on the finer graphical trade-offs) and some even saying it's the best VR racing game so far (not sure how many are available on Rift or Vive? Project Cars. Dirt Rally? Anything else?).

I'm very much looking forward to my PSVR arriving in three or four weeks, and unless I'm in the motion sickness group (was a problem for me both with FPS games and actual motion when I was younger, but not really in recent years) I'm obviously expecting DriveClub VR to be one of my major go-to VR games.

So far my only VR experiences are limited to squinting for a few minutes at a time at a heavily blurred and pixelated 720p screen in Google Cardboard. Certainly not exciting.

I'm basing it off having no prior VR experience at all. I'm not comparing it to any other headsets since I've not had the liberty of trying them. What I am saying, is that VR is not worth a purchase (for me personally) as it stands at the price-points - even entry level PSVR.

I'm writing an article regarding my experience with DCVR where I will go a bit more In-depth.

I'm sure it's a topic that will have very divided opinions. Since I haven't tried it yet I obviously have no idea either whether I'll come away impressed or disappointed (I was one of those who had fun for a while with both 3D games and Move controllers on the PS3, and at least in theory virtual reality sounds to me like something vastly more immersion enhancing than either of those things).
I'll make sure to post my own impressions when I've had hands on experience with the PSVR and DriveClub VR.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, I'm not saying it isn't enjoyable but in terms of bang-for-buck in personal terms I can't see me investing at any point in the future. :) The cockpit cam feels amazingly intuitive though, felt like I had always raced in virtual reality.

With the Oculus Rift currently at £549 and Vive at £769.99 I'm thinking the PS VR will deliver a good entry VR experience - though of course, I haven't tried it but there does appear to be quite the mountain of content coming at anyone interested right now, which is a plus above the 3D experiment.

It'll likely be a while before I can afford to go there of course.

I watched a random YouTube video where the guy reckoned that they dropped Driveclub VR to 720p in order to get it to 60fps. He said that it was very immersive, but graphically well behind the original version due to the resolution drop.

We all know that VR headsets in this first wave have pixel counts which are still too low, and PS4 non-pro doesn't have the capability to throw enough GPU power for larger pixel counts anyway. Clearly first gen VR is for early adopters, and the next generation will be expected to correct these issues :)

I don't think any VR games have been dropped to 720p, that guy is simply not used to seeing screens through lenses right in front of his eyes (I think I saw the same video a week or two ago, he really didn't sound like he knew much of what he was talking about regarding the technical aspects of the game or PSVR, but just making up what seemed to fit his impressions).
I've tried Google Cardboard on my 720p phone - and for regular daily use a 720p smartphone screen is perfectly crisp and sharp to my eyes - the blurriness and visible pixelation is so severe when seen through the lenses that you can barely make out any details at all and start getting severe eye strain within a minute or two.

My son and I got to play a few games with the PSVR at a SONY event. We were second in line so got to try a brand new unit. Was not impressed and would not buy one. My HD TV rocks over the VR headset. Resoution is not that great. Was cool to be able to look around. Do not expect it to look as good as your HDTV.

Perceived clarity is going to suffer in this first VR generation, and probably for as much as a couple of years still.
With a ~1080p screen(s) right in front of your eyes and further magnified by the lenses in the headset, I'm guessing it probably looks roughly like sitting close to a 720p TV? Certainly my 720p phone screen in Cardboard looked at best like a 240p video (different, but a rough equivalent for comparison).
That's a trade-off I was already aware of before I pre-ordered my PSVR back in May. If the immersion factor is as high as I hope for and as previews make it sound I'm willing to settle for visual cutbacks, both in graphical detail level and perceived sharpness.

I'm guessing 4K VR headsets are needed to give the same clarity as a 1080p or maybe 1440p monitor/TV.

Do we know for sure if the update with the new tracks is releasing on the same date as Driveclub VR itself?

No one has said as far as I have seen - I did ask Rushy in a tweet but it got derailed by another tweeter missing the point, or maybe he was waiting on a confirmation from Sony before replying. I'm just hoping.
