DubstepMusic

Whatever the producer is most comfortable using. Hell, I know one producer that only uses samples and SoundForge.

I said SoundForge because it's main purpose isn't to make music, it's marketed as a sound editor. You can make dubstep in any DAW, if you have the right vst's and plugins.

Dubstep is amazing. I have been to 7 dubstep concerts/raves just this year. I have probably 500+ songs of dubstep.

The first song that brought me into dubstep was warp 1.9 by bloody beatroots ft steve aoki.

Now dubstep is a culture for me. I know so many people involved.

I'm not into your mainstream skrillex and nero and flux pavilion. I listen to unknown producers. Underground is definitely the way to go in dubstep đź‘Ť

The first song to get me hooked on dubstep was 'No Secruity' by Crookers feat kellis.. Not in anyway it's dubstep, just the version I was listening to mentioned it, so one YouTube search later led me to Bear Trap (Excision Remix) by Ultrablack.. After I downloaded the Shambhala 2008 I got addicted.. No one (that I knew) had heard about dubstep :D I felt pretty special

Some people knock the "mainstream" stuff but I was at Global Gathering at the weekend and Skrillex was absolutely insane, as was Flux Pavilion. And the other less known acts were just blown out of the water.

^^^ Precisely :D

Here's a little snippet from Global, there are only camera phone shots at the minute, still waiting for the official video.

(Not taken by me but I was standing pretty close)

Underground isn't all good though. I started listening to Neros DnB songs then a friend told me about skrillex. I was then hooked, sure I listen to smaller groups (Klaypex is awesome yet, relatively unknown) I still enjoy the big hitters too.

Reggae n dubstep shouldn't work. But it does!

What ? Half of the word "dubstep", and the very basis of dubstep, derives from reggae.

Out of interest, which underground producers are you referring to ?

Well dub n reggae (as I first thought) shouldn't be merged. But I now think it should.

Anyway stuff like bare and prime. Not a massive fan.

God that wobble. I could listen to that all day.

Despite the fact they both come from the same place and have similar roots?

Regardless, that Skrillex tune is neither dub nor reggae. Just having the Marley name does not make it reggae.
